MadCatZ PS3 TE FightStick: PC - Xp- vista- win7 32-64bit (read 1st post)

Trip report: stuck pci usb card in computer and now stick works. So I guess that means it is a mobo problem?

wow, thats a good news.

I posted earlier in this thread with basically the same problem as everyone else.

Incase it helps my motherboard is an MSI K9N Diamond, which is an nForce 590 board. Needless to say I donā€™t really want to go out and buy a USB expansion card unless itā€™s a last resort not only because it isnā€™t guaranteed to work but because I donā€™t really need it for anything else.

Glad you can use your stick now!

Iā€™m guessing itā€™s some USB specification that the chipset is overly strict on but the stick doesnā€™t adhere to well enough (or vice versa.) So far we only have 5 ASUS motherboards reported, and all of them have nForce chipsets. Iā€™m not sure if the nForce itself is responsible for USB or if itā€™s some other chip.

I have an old ASUS m/b without nForce that works, but 1 is a small sample. Does anyone have an nForce motherboard that works with the sticks? And does anyone have a non ASUS/nForce that doesnā€™t work? I have no idea how this will help us, but itā€™s always nice to pinpoint the problem. Tell us your motherboards people!

Just wanted to chime in and say the Fightstick worked perfectly on my Asus EEE with XP SP3 installed on it.

what brand is the pci usb card?

as im just gonna buy one as i cant wait for nothing else.

and like the guys are saying i think it has to do with the nforce chipset.

You had a succesful report from a 965 based Gigabyte board earlier - have all problems been on the same generation nForce chipsets?

570, 650i and 750i so far.

I have no idea what it is but itā€™s listed as VIA rev5 or greater usb hub in device manager. So Iā€™m guessing any one that uses a VIA chip works.

it looks liek the 360 version is not as plug and play as stated also as they are trying various homebrew to get it working, with us its simply a motherboard chipset clash, i have purchased 2 seperate usb pci cards, and will post results as soon as they arrive.

good luck guys.

where did you get it ? I guess ill have to buy one too now :wasted:

Someone in our tech support team tried the sticks over the weekend with a number of intel cpus and amd ones.

He found that all of them worked on intel ones, but with AMD ones they would be recognized but not work properly.

One weird note on Vista 32 AMD version, it DID work (PS3) out the box. That was the only instance.

Iā€™ll update more after we do a bit more research.

Itā€™s not the CPU. Most of us have Intel CPUs. Itā€™s the motherboard or chipset.

yea markman get your tech department to try it on motherboards with the nvidia chipsets, like the ones we have mentioned previously in the thread or even newerboards with nvidia chipsets.

bucky i ordered on amamzon 2 differnt ones

and a cheaper one

give me a day or two until the arrive and iā€™ll post my results.

update

no delivery today hopefully tommorow.

Iā€™m also having a few teething issues with the SE stick and PC use, running XP sp2(I know I know) and while my wired Joytech neo se 360 pad works awesome, I have the xbox control drivers installed. When I plus in the SE my pc sees it , it goes green for split second it says 360 controller found then says there is problem with your installation, which is very weird to me the Joytech neo se has been my default mame pad for like over a year and Iā€™ve never had any issues using a 360 controller before. Iā€™d use search to see if anyone has any more indepth info but with the traffic on here now thatā€™s not happening.

Try this thread maybe: Street fighter TE stick for Xbox360. PC driver?
Just out of curiosity, what motherboard do you have?

I installed the newest intel chipset and it works now in gpgo and in pcsx2 but not in mamefx, mame++ or kawaks same shit as the horiā€¦ Iā€™m using a dfi DK x48-t2rs mobo.

my SE stick came in today.(ps3) The PC recognizes the stick but it doesnā€™t register like everyone else. So i decided to plug it into my sisterā€™s old computer(XP)ā€¦ and it worked. wtf???

I have vista 32bit

whats your motherboard, make and model number also what processor.

I donā€™t know how to check my motherboard but itā€™s stock. My computer model is SR2150NX. but i swapped the power supply, video card, and processor(Pentium D now, used to be Celeron). more ram too.

My sister computer model is SR1103WM. Everything in that computer is stock.
