i mailed the us one, hopefully they are the main people dealing with this.
No worky for me too. PS3 SE stick, x86 XP Pro SP3. Detected as the 8818 thing but no inputs.
Works perfectly on Linux.
VID_0738 = the vendor madcatz
PID_8838 = the stick.
i dont know what but do a registry check and see what it comes up with maybe bill gates and the boys disabled it ?
VID_0738
i dont know but if any 1 handy in registry editing then maybe you can inform us whats going on?
I been looking around , I honestly dont think its a powering problem , just the buttons not beeing recognized properly , shouldnt be hard for someone with a bit of windows and drivers knowledge to fix it thoā¦ lets hope that dude comes soon , I want to try it on third strike so bad
the whole day i been looking on net and found nothing, plus i got a email from saitek support and he does not have stick but i explained whats wrong and hopefully will hear from him soon.
I have mine working here but Iām using Windows 7 64bit.
I shall try mine on vista tomorrow when my dad is back with his laptop.
It Installed automatically as the 8818 device like everyone elseās and doing the test in the control panel/joypad works for all the joystick and all the buttons including the tubros/leds lighting up.
Not much help I know to the rest of you but it goes to show its just a driver issue which will be fixed with time for the other osās.
can you please state what motherboard you have and processor, as this may play a part in it also.
thanks
Can you rename the thread perhaps to Not Working On XP SP3 , might bring more users in here to get feedback
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 mobo
Intel E6600 cpu
i have a amd 6000+ dual core
asus m2nsli deluxe motherboard
running vista 64bit ultimate edition, also tried on xp sp3 dual boot
both not working
Actually, I thought that it might have been the OS myself, so I tried installying the windows 7 beta, and it still didnāt work for me. It seems like the auto installed driver doesnāt work with all hardware configurations or something along those lines.
As far as what processor/mobo itās not working on, I have an Asus p5n-e sli and a Pentium e2160.
I Have asus P5ND and Intel Q6600
Update from me:
My SE works in Windows XP (32 bit SP3) on the same machine that it works with Linux. Thatās an old Athlon64 3000+ on an Asus K8V-MX.
The machine it doesnāt work on is an E5200 on a P5N-E SLI. Neither Windows nor Linux.
I was quick to jump to the conclusion that it works in Linux and not Windows, but Iāve tested both on both machines and it seems more like a hardware problem.
It also works on an ancient GigaByte GA-7ZXE with a slowass Athlon XP. (Only tested with Linux)
have someone tested this with PCI USB?
maybe it doesnt work on some onboard USB.
nop havent tried that , but I dont have any pci usb handy
Everytime Iāve seen a USB item not work right it has been drivers or bad/insufficient voltage from the USB port. You guys have adressed the driver it seems. Has anyone with problems tried plugging the joystick into a powered USB hub? That fixed an issue I was having with the USB wireless 360 receiver.
Meant to do so this morning but forgot. Just tried and it doesnāt help.
tried also not working
I cant believe there is still no official statement from madcatz about this , great support for a 150 quids stick
markman did say his looking into the issue, hopefully some news soon, also no email frm madcatz USa customer support.
