Hey Tek7, I just ordered the Rosewill USB PCI Adapter that you linked. I’ll report back to you on Friday if it works or not.
I went ahead and ordered it as well (I have a free ShopRunner trial that’s good for another 3 weeks and I was feeling a tad impatient :)), but the more individual reports of success or failure we can collect, the better, so please let me know how it turns out!
Did you install all of your chipset drivers? The Gigabyte intel boards should work just fine. I have a GA-Z77X-UD5H(model up from yours) and have no issues.
I did.
I installed the chipset drivers from the CD that came with the mainboard before ever connecting a device to the USB 3.0 ports. I also updated the chipset drivers to the latest version available on the Gigabyte web site. Still no go.
I’m not opposed to trying a different set of drivers, but at this point, I’ve already ordered the $10 Rosewill USB PCI card and I’m content with the (relatively) cheap fix.
I am very pleased to report that installing the Rosewill USB PCI card (model RC-103) did indeed resolve my issues. As others have reported, Windows 7 64-bit immediately recognized the card and I did not need to install any drivers. I plugged in my FightStick and Windows recognized all input.
Huzzah!
So for those of you who can’t get Windows to recognize your PS3 FightStick or controller input, here’s the solution!
glad to see people are getting it sorted out, I just gave up and bought a triple modded Qanba Q4 RAF stick http://www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk/products/qanba-q4raf-arcade-fighting-stick.htm
Bump? I just got AE for my laptop which runs it flawlessly but it has a nvidia card and my stick doesn’t show that it’s working either. Tried to download the xboxdriver, changing driver to sidewinder gamepad and no luck. It’s now recognized as 8388 instead of 8888 like before lol and I can’t roll back but I doubt it does anything. It’s not working. Those of you who had it working once in a while by excessively plugging it in and out, did you find any new settings?
Does anyone know if MadCatz TE stick is compatible with Windows 8? My stick worked perfectly on my old computer with vista 32-bits but not on win8 64-bits. I get my PS3 controller to work but TE stick doesn’t register inputs. I have Asus P8 Z77-V LX2 mobo which has Intel chipset. Windows 8 founds usb wired stick 8838 normally though. Tried all USB ports but no luck.
Ok every thread i read seem to be talking about the problem on pc, how can i fix this for an laptop? my madcatz TE round 1 works fine on my pc which runs win7-64bit gforce graphic card but not on my laptop which also is win 7-64bit gforce card… how can i make it work on my laptop?
I recently reinstalled windows and managed to shift my problem one set closer to being fixed. It now shows as PC USB Wired Stick 8388 in both Devices and Printers and Game Controllers. However it still doesn’t work even after trying everything in this thread. It is plugged into a USB 3 slot and Turbo light don’t come on leading me to believe it’s not being powered still or something?
Same here, running Win 8. I have an Intel motherboard as well.
Hint: People who can’t add a 3rd party USB card to their PCs can dual-mod their stick to Xbox360. The Xbox360 controller drivers work on every PC
You can also replace the crud Mad Catz PCB with a aftermarket PCB like the Cthulhu, PS360+, Cerberus or some other PS3 compatible PCB

Has anyone tried anything like that? Modern motherboards don’t have PCI slots so I was wondering if a PCI-e USB3 card might work.
It could work.
So, does it work?? I am having similar problem myself and still looking for solution…
I dunno mate I just bought a C’Thulhu PCB.
I got my stick working on a asus mb using usb 3.0. Im using asmedia xhci controllers on my mb.

the funny thing about this is is, that you are sadly mistaken my friend.
I have a madcatz mvc2 te for 360 and it won’t work on my computer.
I recently had to get a new motherboard and processor for my computer and had to reinstall windows etc.
The motherboard is a msi z87-gd65 which is compatible with nvidia chipsets. However I am using an AMD graphics card and the onboard graphics are turned off in bios, meaning that the nvidia chipset shouldn’t be active on my board.
Whenever I plug in the stick the computer recognizes it as a madcatz te stick. It shows up under unknown/other devices and has an exclamation point by it.
I try to manually find the drivers it doesn’t work
I have installed the drivers from microsofts website multiple times and uninstalled the stick multiple times and restarted my system multiple times.
Whenever I plug ina regular xbox controller it will find the drivers online by itself and install them perfectly.
I have even tried different usb slots and to no avail nothing has worked.
the only problem that I see with my situation is that under compatible ids it doesn’t have
usb\ms_comp_xusb10
(I went and plugged it into my other computer to try and see any differences) and it works perfectly fine on there. Also another thing is that my computer won’t recognize it as a xbox controller.
I even got a pci-e card. I am not sure if it should be able to pick up the stick though frys.com/product/6112839?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
Idk what else to do this never used to happen before the stick used to work fine before I got the new motherboard. Any
help and tips would be appreciated, thank you for your time.

I can also confirm that the RC-103 works with getting a PS3 Madcatz SE stick working on the PC. I bought one earlier this week and I installed it last night. Did a quick button test on the Windows controller settings. Everything registered correctly.
Now I just need a FG to play…
