MadCatZ PS3 TE FightStick: PC - Xp- vista- win7 32-64bit (read 1st post)

Well… ended up buying the PCI card, plugged my PS3 te stick into one of the 4 slots and it still doesn’t work… anyone got any ideas why?

I bought a PCI card with VIA chipset on it. The model was VT6212L chipset. But the problem is, there is no driver for window 7 for it. My window 7 didn’t recognize this or even update the driver. I keep searching/reading solution on internet still haven’t found.

I already check here at http://www.via.com.tw/en/support/drivers.jsp and VIA didn’t release any drivers for window 7. Anybody got another solution?

Does the mad catz sfxt fightstick pro ps3 have the same issues with with pc compatibility as the TE does?

I have a MSI Z77A-GD65 motherboard and I plug my PS3 TE into my USB 3.0 port (Nothing else is in the 3.0 ports) it detects the stick but the buttons don’t work.

Anyone else with the same motherboard been able to get their stick working?

It shows up as “PC USB Wired Stick 8838” in Devices and Printers, “4 axis 13 button gamepad with hat switch” in Game Controllers.

The turbo lights don’t light up either.

already tryed to plug it before you launch the game and even if not responding on enter screen, go through to the option menu in game and control settings to see if it’s listed and assign buttons if so.

I’ve tried pretty much everything in this thread, everything I can think of. Does anyone know of any working USB PCI-E cards that support Windows 7 64 bit?

Could you give me a little more info on how you got it working? I tried what you did it’s not worked.

I think I got this same experience even if I was on a macbook running win7. My TE PS3 wasn’t working before I tryed to install many drivers and in the same time tried to play with a Ps3 Pad on usb and bluetooth. Ending with everything working and no idea what was the point…

i’m having all these issues too, same as ZeFlash. I’ve tried motonjoy and no luck.
i’ve got a ps3 stick and an xbox one the ps3 stick downloads drivers but wont recognise inputs, the xbox stick wont even download drivers and when i download microsoft ones manually still wont recognise them! only bought a laptop so i could play at work. bummed out man

Ok, i assume I’ve found a solution. At least it worked for me. I had the same problem as everyone: stick installed as stick controller 8838 but no buttons nor stick moves were registered by my system. So I tried reading on various forums and tried different usb ports, motioninjoy, xbox drivers and so on. Nothing worked and I almost gave up to buy a pcie usb hub with via chipset.
But then I tried one last thing. And i.got it working.
So… I’ve just manually installed the driver of the stick device selecting from the list Microsoft-> sidewing . Et voila, just set the stick mode to left stick and it works.
Hope it can helps someone.
Ps:.didn’t have time to test turbo.
Pps: sorry for the bad English.

I am on Windows 7 64 bit with a ps3 se and have bought a via pcie card and still can’t get it to work, could you explain what the Microsoft SideWing driver is? I can’t find it anywhere.

go to start
select printers and devices
then right-click on your stick, that should be recognized as stick-controller 8838 and select properties
go on drivers and choose to reinstall them, manually.
now you should be on a window that let you choose from a folder/drive or selecting from a list.
select the list, activate the option “show incompatible devices”.
select Microsoft on the left panel and sidewing on the right one.

I’m not at home and can not be more precise, sorry. if you understand what I’m talking about you should be able to find it out yourself… let me know if it works for you.

I found what you are talking about but there is no “Sidewing” in the microsoft driver list, i found “Sidewinder” though, i tired installing that but then i get an error saying device cannot start code 10, so I had to reinstall the default drivers again.

Hello guys

I had issues that my PS3 round 2 stick, it was not working on my pc(no suprises there)!
I just got this pci usb card from amazon

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Port-Card-C...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1356222632&sr=1-1

just plugged it and to my amazement my stick was working (inc turbo button), so pleased about it.
at the back of the packet did not mention anything about UHCI only EHCI and OHCI !
but maybe its also build in, just plugged the card in and of it went!
just to mention i am running the 64bit windows 7!
Good luck if anyone else is looking for one!

Hey everyone,

I recently purchased USB card from my local computer store
http://www.forcomtech.com.tw/data/PEU3P4.pdf

But after installing it and updating the drivers I tried to use my TE stick for it but it still wouldn’t recognize my Joystick or my button imputs

I really don’t want to have to buy a new card

Also I am using an AMD chipset for Motherboard, but going from previous posts it shouldn’t matter as long as I have my USB card

I’m also using the very first TE Stick if that makes a difference.

nice to hear people are getting it running
david g your link is broken btw

Umm… Did anybody here try MotioninJoy?

There’s an issue with controllers not working in Vista and Windows 7 (especially PS3 controllers), MotioninJoy pretty much solves that. Also follow the other advice about plugging into the USB3 port if you have one.

I think modern PCs should be fine with all these controllers now.

Just another quick post guys,
I believe that the USB card I brought isn’t compatible with stick. Can somebody recommend a good USB card for a PCI-E unfortunately I don’t have any PCI slots on my motherboard.

I recently upgraded my mainboard, processor, memory, and video card and I’m experiencing the same issue with my PlayStation 3 FightStick as many others described: Windows 7 64-bit recognizes the device, but does not receive input.

I upgraded my mainboard from a Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 to a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H.

I’ve reached out to 5 SRK forum members who stated that the Rosewill USB PCI adapter model RC-103 resolved their issues; if I can get confirmation that this is still the case, I plan to order the card from Newegg tomorrow. If I can confirm

It feels rather silly to pay $10 for a PCI card to add 4 USB 2.0 ports when I already have 12 USB ports (6 USB 3.0, 6 USB 2.0) to play a game that I paid $7.50 for in a Steam sale with a FightStick I’ve invested $80 in ($17 for the base stick, ~$63 in replacement parts)–especially after I paid $25 for SSFIV PS3 a few years ago and $16 for SSFIVAE PS3 on disc recently–but I’m this far in; what’s another $10? :stuck_out_tongue:
