MadCatZ PS3 TE FightStick: PC - Xp- vista- win7 32-64bit (read 1st post)

so all i would need is the $30 PS3/PC Chtulhu Chip? or do i need to get the Multi-Console upgrade as well? i don’t plan on using it with anything other than osx/windows and my PS3

all I have is the MC Cthulhu. which is a PC & PS3 controller by default. I don’t think I need any other material. Just cut some wires and switch the original pcb with this new one. I should have bought some wires by the way, luckily I finally didn’t had to use it. But the wires from the original PCB and the sanwa JLF are short and hard to use as is. You better get more wires like those, and longer.

it was this dll lib :
LibUSB-Win32-0.1.10.1

i had installed that previously, i remember the name, still no luck, but i ordered a Cthulhu so no worries

I am in the exact same situation, with a first generation ps3 TE. But I haven’t tried using it to play fighting games in a long time. Now that I’m traveling again I kind of want to. But I seem to recall that the stick is plug & play in mac os but won’t work in bootcamp.

don’t just take it as granted, I got it to work on a mbp 15’’ early 2008 bootcamp XP. After hours of downloading things to make a PS3 pad work via bluetooth, ended with ps3 pad and TE round 2 (PS3) working great.

i think the round ones have no hope really, your best bet is to get a cthulhu and install that, doesn’t take long and the stick will work perfectly in boot camp, osx and the PS3

Yeah, I revisited my old problem. Basically, I have a 2009 unibody MBP, and when I run fighting games natively on it my round 1 madcatz TE stick works fine. But SFF4AE has horrible performance when I run it through a virtual machine, and no doubt SFxT will be the same. But on the other hand, if I boot into bootcamp and run the same games on windows, it goes much smoother, but the stick doesn’t work. However, meanwhile my fightpad has arrived in the mail, and I’m liking that. Maybe I’ll make the switch permanently.

I am intrigued, but not very hopeful for getting my round 1 fightstick TE to work.

I had terrible result running SSFIV on any virtual machine except Paralells desktop, the only one that give me real power off my iMac. Maybe it’s the same on a macbook pro ?
actually my MB pro is dead, my mother board at least so I can’t test it.

and what about the Ctuhlu chip modding ?

this was my exact problem, horrible FPS in a virtual machine but no stick in bootcamp, the Cthulhu solved that, check them out, cheap and no soldering.

You’re the man ! The XBox driver worked for me with my matcatz SE stick PS3…The question is : Why do they call it Xbox driver ?

It worked. I unplugged it and then it never works again. Why?

I got this too. And it re worked again later and forever. Be sure your “turbo” buttons are set correctly, the “LS DP RS”.
Be sure to launch the game once the stick is plugged in, not the opposite. And check if windows recognize the stick in your config panel.

What do you mean by “correctly”. Do i have to set turbo to “LS” then plug in and test? And retry with “DP”? Then “RS”? Unplug and replug for each one? (I’m french, by the way…and we suck in foreign languages).

Windows does not recognize it. I’ll try to change the driver with the one given by mad catz. The question is “where is it”. I’ll check the “inf” windows folder today…

Shouldn’t be needed to start the game or plug the stick with a switch on LS or DP or RS specially. Just test all three while you’re in game. A good test is to check if the leds light up for turbo mode, if you have no lights, your stick isn’t recognized and not powered. I happened to me on the macbook pro to have the leds going crazy and sometimes not working at all.
If you got lights, there’s some hope

Et je suis français aussi

I’m going to sell it agin. NO SOLUTION FOUND…

Just wanted to add my own experience to the discussion. Just got a new computer with an Intel C600 USB controller. Despite being an intel chip it does not support UHCI and therefore will not allow the TE stick to function. Luckily for me there is also an onboard USB3 “ASMedia XHCI Controller”, and it works perfectly when I plug the stick into a USB3 port.

I’m so confused, does this work for the XBOX ver? I have a Hori UMvC3 fightstick.

Will this work with the TE?

If it does, definitely grabbing it, hard to say no to that price.

Just got a pretty good deal on an MvC2 stick for PS3, bought SFxT on steam, and can’t use my stick…
I’ve read a fair amount about the problems with USB compatibility, and I fall into…THAT category.

Now, I have a mini tower (a decision I regret,) and it’s only got 1 PCIex16 slot (holding my video card), but has an open PCIex1 slot, so, in the interest of…ya know…using my stick, I was wondering if either of these would work:

I am not the most computer literate person in the world, so if the Plugable works, that would be ideal for me, but my big question for the internal card is, would I have to power it? If so, what kinds of cables would I need ( I do know that I don’t have any open SATA or ATA(?) cords open for use).

On a side note, SFxT is alright, just sucks playing it on my cheap-o PC controller.
