So according to that ^ a driver won’t help anyone. You simply need the right USB ports.
edit:
I plan to go shopping today. I still don’t 100% get the starting topic and what kind of UInterface the USB needs, so can anyone pick out a PCI card that will work from here?
^ this is ONLY for the 360. Microsoft HAS official drivers for the sticks where as Sony does NOT for theirs. So yes, Nvidia chipsets can be compatible, but for only the 360. That’s the reason this thread is pertaining to PS3 specifically. We lack those drivers.
Ehhh bump. Didn’t go shopping afterall, instead I’m trying to look for the USB PCI card that WORKS ( the one on the first page ) in the US online. Amazon UK is sold out… plus I don’t live in the UK <_<;
Hey all. I just bought a PS3 TE stick and was having the same trouble as you guys due to an Nvidia chipset. After reading through some of these responses/solutions I decided to try an old USB 2.0 PCI card I had lying around and it worked. Please be advised that my card is not a VIA chipset, it’s an Ali chipset. The stick and buttons respond fine though I can’t seem to get the Turbo to work and the Home button does nothing. I’m not too fussed about that as the main (important) parts are functioning fine.
Just thought I’d let you guys know there is a second option for chipsets out there.
Hello. guys, I am fairly new to the forum, but after I have read through 33 pages, I came to a conclusion that the TE/SE ps3 should work on intel chipset?? I bought a new laptop recently, and I am 100% sure it’s intel chipset, but the stick wont work anymore,(TE “S” edition). It was working perfectly with my old laptop though. and this is what is up in the device mananger,
Shouldn’t be your OS, I’m also running Windows 7 (Ultimate) 64 bit. Before trying out my USB PCI card, the stick would be recognised but none of the buttons would function etc; I think the conclusion was drawn that the sticks are a hardware problem rather than a software one (aside from the obvious driver issue).
Hi guys, my TE did not work in my front slots but then it did yesterday in one of my back slots. I played for about an hour then today it does not work, even in the same slot, it makes no sense =[
I don’t mean to steal this thread, but have been searching all day for info but can’t find a correct answer and hope you guys can help me or post a link to answers…
I have a macbook, but i don’t know what USB Chipset i have…
So i need to know in order to decide if i buy the PS3 TE stick or the XBOX360 TE stick.
This is to play GGPO on WINDOWS XP with SP3 that i installed via BOOTCAMP.
Also, is there a great difference between the “TE” and the “TE S” sticks??
Please, i hope you guys can get me some answers to know what i need to buy… i appreciatte your effort and time, thanks in advance!
I got a PS3 stick assuming it would work with my PC since they pretty much advertised it. Then I get it home, doesn’t work. Sad thing is, I own a laptop, so there’s no way in hell for me to get it to work on here. Now I’m having to blow $100 to buy an Xbox stick. I’d just get an Xbox stick since they’re guaranteed to work with all PC’s, whereas the PS3 one is picky as hell.
I hope it’s not against the rules to talk about the BBCS PC port, but I discovered the TE won’t work right out of the box for it, you need to get something like JoyToKey to bind it to keyboard buttons. (At least, this was what happened when I hooked it up to play some BBCS.)
^^^ That’s because the BBCS PC port is not really a port but a hack of the arcade version torn straight out of a taito machine. It works because those arcade boards are basically a pc running windows with some very common hardware components.
