did this ever happen to anyone? I been using my pci to usb via chipset and been working perfectly for months, yesterday my pc crashed out of nowhere and I couldnt turn it back on, it was just dead.
After taking out the power cord and leaving it for a few minutes it turned back on…but the pci via usb is not detected anymore
dont know if the crash caused the socket to mess up or the pci itself got destroyed
edit: well well, I plugged the TE in the usb slot thats inside computer instead of 1 of the 4 external slots and it works there, weird
I just bought a beefy laptop to play some vanilla on with my new te stick. Now I have a stick and a computer powerful enough to handle sf4 and the stick doesn’t work! Oh the irony. Just wondering if anyones found an xpresscard that works? Either that or any method of dual modding?
This thread sounds complicated… but as long as the stick gets recognized under “game controllers” in the control panel, it will work right? I’m thinking of purchasing SF4 on steam so that I can play on my laptop as well as my PS3.
I’ll be really bummed out if I spend 40 bucks and it doesn’t work =S.
Hi guys, think someone can link me any other USBS that work? ordered that USB 2 months ago finding that today amazon didnt have it in stock. Just been quickly googling same product for other websites with no luck.
Im not a computer expert. So links to stores that have this USB or simular USBS thatl let me use my ps3 stick would be great.
It has the UHCI requirement that the TE stick needs. That and the 2 ports are more than enough for 2 person play. And if it doesnt work, you can RMA it.
Ok after some research I don’t think Expresscards are the answer for laptops. Advice from a guy in a tetris forum (Unsure if we are allowed to directly link to other forums):
I posted this in the chun-li stick pre-order thread, but I thought it’d be appropriate here.
My PS3 Standard Edition FightStick never worked with my laptop. Always showed up as “PC USB Wired Stick 8818” and none of the buttons worked. Still doesn’t work even now.
I just tried the PS3 Chun-Li stick out on my laptop and it registers as “Madcatz FightPad”. All the buttons work perfectly from what I tested. I sent a tweet to Mark Man about it and he replied saying I found out some secret stuff, lol. Credit goes to Ragnorok64 for bringing this to my attention
I figure it should work because it does have backwards support for UCHI and I did turn it on in the BIOS, but the controller won’t work. I haven’t really had time to screw around with everything, but the controller registers just the input is not recognized. If anyone know if this laptop works let me know.
so I bought the fightstick (SE) and then when it didnt work, googled the problem, and this place seemed to have the most info. read all 34 pages (ugh!) and decided that this is the last Mad Catz product I buy. But before I do anythingI want to get this controller to work. I know its supposed to be any PCI card with a VIA chipset, and I found one, but I want to make sure everything will work together (my computer, the PCI card, and my fightstick) especially since someone mentioned only 1.1 not 2 on the usb? I dont think that was confirmed though. anyway, I have a:
Compaq Presario SR5710Y as seen here (everything is stock EXCEPT I installed a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OEM, and an XFX ATI Radeon HD 4770 graphics card)
I am planning on ordering this PCI USB VIA card
I have this fightstick (I know its the one we are talking about but I want no question. SE and PS3, though i dont know if it was ordered from there or not. I got it from my friend)
and I have the standard Street Fighter IV (retail, not steam. this may be redundant, but again, I want no question)
Thanks in advance for dealing with this. I read the pages, I know how many noobs like me have been asking the same questions XP
a quick reply would be appreciated
