MadCatZ PS3 TE FightStick: PC - Xp- vista- win7 32-64bit (read 1st post)

hm , u make valid points there. I wont buy a stick for ps3 alone anyway, I do enjoy playing street fighter on pc a lot, so it would be quite a waste again to get a diff stick which would make my pc sf4 just useless basically. It would just be nice to have a stick which would work on both my pc and my ps3, since tekken is comin out now, and id like to get blazblue at some point aswell.

I just keep thinking the tournament edition stick would play nicer than my Se with sanwa parts, and i might be completely wrong here, but yer…

thanks for the replies^^

No problem. And I’m no authority on sticks (this is the only one I’ve owned), but I can tell you that the TE is fantastic. I love using it, but how it compares to anything else I couldn’t tell you.

I just bought myself a SYBA PCI USB 2.0 4+1 with a VIA chipset. Will try it on a 360 Fightstick. I need additional USB ports anyway so might as well try. I’ll post results on this when I get the card.

M2N-SLI Deluxe with an Nvidia nforce 570 chipset.

I have a XPS m1730 and it is an intel chipset with nvidia graphics. PS3 TE stick works great and so does 1080p SFIV on 8800mgtx SLI. Native resolution for my HDTV which you can’t get on the crappy console ports. Too bad I have been playing mostly pad for the last 15 years so my DPs are unreliable. Can’t blame the controller now…

I have a TE PS3 stick and the buttons don’t register. I ordered the USB PCI card posted in the OP. I hope it works, thanks.

I assume this would do the same job as well?

It’s even cheaper than the other one at 4 quid.

I have a Abit motherboard with a onboard via usb chipset but it doesn’t work! I have tried two PCI usb controllers and neither work. The buttons just do not register. I know the pad works though as I have tried it in another PC and it works. Is there anything other than the USB controller that could be stopping it from working?

Just wanted to give an update… using Windows XP SP2 and unfortunately my fightstick still doesn’t work even with the VIA chipset USB card. Oh well, at least i got more USB ports. :bluu:

meh I can’t get my PS3 TE stick to work. I’m on Vista Home. I think its SP2.

What’s your motherboard’s chipset?

I’m using Asus P7P55-M motherboard. I believe this is Intel Chipset but my TE failed with this mobo. Running on Win 7 x64.

Previously was working fine under Gigabyte mobo though…guess i have to sell off my TE and get HRAP3 in order for it to work?

(Quad-Core FSB1333) EVGA nForce 680i SLI Chipset LGA775 FSB1333 DDR2

I tried my stick at my jobs shitty ass comps and it seemed to work fine. lol. I’m guessing I have to cop a separate USB connecter?

Okay hi people, im looking for some help. i was told PS3 TE stick worked before… i just bought it only to find out it doesnt work with mine. luckily managed to find this forum out. im not very tech savvy so i need some help
Im running a NVIDIA Geforce 9600 GT with a processor that is intel core 2 duo
Do i need to let you guys to know anything more?
please tell me if i need to. im quite bumped my te stick aint working just bought it :frowning:
thanks in advance

Might wanna peep the first post of this thread.

so i must get a pci card? the UHCI one?

You can snag this [taken from first post]. There’s a lot of big words in that post, but from what I read, you get this and you should be ready to go.

i tried ordering that online. sadly it doesnt send to singapore…
:\ and yes i went to a computer place in singapore that sells lotsa computer parts accessories etc
they havent even heard of that brand :\ max value

Yeah it doesn’t ship outside that area. I tried ordering it and got denied.

Doesn’t have to be that brand, just needs to be a VIA chipset. If they still don’t know what you are on about, just ask to see the box; as long as the word VIA is on there, you should be fine. Failing that, it should be written in the black square on the actual pci card, see this for example: http://www.pixelsplasher.com/_knowledgebase/Upgrade.Your.Old.PC.with.VIA.VT6212L.Hi-Speed.USB.Ports/images/VIA-VT6212L.jpg

hmm as long as it has VIA on it eh? does it need to be anything else specifically? im quite a computer dummy so pardon me. erm so if im not wrong it has to be a UHCI 1.0 PCI with VIA on it?

As long as it says ā€œVIAā€ you will be good to go. Don’t need any other info. If it says ā€œNECā€ then it will not allow you to use your stick. It will be either VIA or NEC or some other manufacturer. MAKE SURE IT IS VIA FOR GUARANTEED RESULTS.
