MadCatZ PS3 TE FightStick: PC - Xp- vista- win7 32-64bit (read 1st post)

Mine does not work on my M3N78-EM.

so is it totally confirmed that the reason the stick is recognized but inputs do not work has to do with this OHCI/UHCI mismatch and if I plug in a UHCI (intel/via) USB pci card it will definitely work on my nvidia mobo?

I’m going to pick up one of those dynex USB cards from bestbuy tomorrow and confirm… if it doesn’t work I can return it

Yes, that has been the results of everyone’s testing thus far. Several different cards can be used - I used a Rosewill, others used a cheap chinese import, others have used the Dynex, all have been resolved with this solution as long as it is a via chipset.

Does anyone know if the USB ports on a G15 Logitech keyboard will suffice as an alternate port to one on the Motherboard? I’m just wary because I’m planning on getting a stick soon and as I have a PS3 I was going to get a PS3 one, but a lot of people have been saying they get no input with AMD/Nvidia chipsets.

Buying a 360 Stick seems like a safer yet redundant option for me.

Edit: I have this motherboard - ā€œGigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P AMD 790Xā€

I could not get the Dynex card from bestbuy to work with my computer… i installed it and installed the driver and after rebooting, device manager still did not detect it.

I’m going to take it back to bestbuy and order that rosewill from newegg i think.

this really blows. madcatz should really do something about this. i disagree with minmao above too. they should have the skills/tech needed to create a driver solution. if they can create a hardware/connectivity that’s able to work with the ps3 then they should have no problem creating a connectivity fix for the pc.

If you have vista, that is your best bet. Especially if you have vista 64 bit, only one I could find guaranteed to work with 64 bit Vista.

I checked the newegg site for you, and zoomed in on your mobo, I could not locate a Via chip, so I am assuming it wont work.

The problem with a G15, or any hub for that matter, is that it is essentially just an extension of your mobo. So no, sadly, it wont work. Just drop the 10$ on the rosewill if you have a non VIA or intel chipset AND vista, or if you use XP, get the one from best buy.

Dont forget - you guys have another option, Hori RAP will work on pc just fine. It doesnt hurt to send madcatz a message with your dollars. However, I liked the size, feel, and packaging too much to pass myself.

yeah…i’m going to buy a cheap one from ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Best-5-PORT-USB-2-0-PCI-Hub-Card-VIA-High-Speed-480MB_W0QQitemZ330342702697QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Electronics_Portable_Audio_Accessories?hash=item4ce9f59e69&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A15|66%3A2|39%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

so unless anyone objects, i guess i’ll buy it!

as long as you run XP and not vista, you will be straight!!!:clapdos:

sweeet XD

Hello, this question is for the X360 TE Stick, rather than the PS3 stick.

Question: I just got a X360 TE stick, I downloaded the windows drivers, I went to control panel > game controllers, and the stick recognizes the inputs, but I can’t seem to get it to work for nFBA (can’t even set controls with it). Do I have to set anything on the TE stick for it to work? This wasn’t a problem with the Super Joy Box 3 Pro (although that one lagged on my stick).

I dont know why it wouldnt work with nFBA - but you could always use joy2key which will make it work by remapping TE inputs as key presses.

What’s wrong with Vista?

Many of those cheaper no-branded chinese import cards do not offer drivers for vista, especially 64 bit. So if your install doesnt recognize it, your up the creek without a paddle.

Even the best buy dynex card states it is vista compatible - but I downloaded the driver from the manufacturer site, and it would not install. Edit - sure enough, someone bought it a page or two back in this thread, and it didnt work with Vista. No worries tho, you can return to best buy without a problem. Ebay however, is most likely a final sale.

So I browsed newegg and only the rosewill specifically states 64 bit vista compatible. I am happy I went that route after seeing a few vista owners out of luck on the ebay and best buy cards a few pages back in this thread.

Also, if you read the newegg reviews on most of the via usb cards, most vista users could not get it to work with the exception of the Rosewill one.

Just like the ebay one posted right above,

ā€œWindows 98 SE Windows ME Windows 2000 Windows XPā€

No vista listed.

My biggest concern was I would have a card that could move from system to system, I dont want to have issues when I finish my mame cab and have a non-functional TE and re-spend the money.

If you think you might go vista and upgrade in the future, $14 less than best buy, or $4 more than the ebay option is a good way to go so you know the card will move to any OS.

Knowing Rosewill, they will update with Win 7 drivers once the OS is released.

Oh, man, I have Vista 32-bit. Do you have a link for that Rosewill card?

just bought my SE fight stick today and ofcourse i have an nvidia chipset :frowning:

was looking at this card LaCie USB 2.0 PCI Card by Sismo - 4 port not sure if it will do the trick or not

im on vista ultimate 64 bit

edit: apparently its an NEC chipset … anyone know if this will fix my problem?
