That is a custom asus board for HP, your board uses a ICH8DH southbridge. IE - Intel southbridge, meaning UHCI -
Your PS3 stick should work fine.

I also plugged it in and its the same by me, BUT when I entered the menu to test the buttons, it did not register anything when I presses the buttons on the stick.
Dose it mean that it dosent work at all? Is there a way to make the PC register when I press the buttons on the stick?
i understand your anguist buddy, but this thread has been up since i first got my TEās, and i was the first with all the problems and the first to solve the problems, this thread has been up on the top page of tech talk for months.
if you do research before any purchase, you will be alot better off no matter what it is.
if you dont have the options to buy or fit a pci card with a via chipset then your out of luck.
try to swap for a 360 te is the next option and i think thats all you can do.
best of luck man
Can someone answer my question? I posted a couple pages back⦠Anyway If the red circles light up on the properties screen, does that mean the stick is compatible with the pc?
red circles light up = working
OK, cool.
What about my circles, they are not red, dose that mean they dont work?
The pc still finds the stick, but no red circles.
Possible to fix at this point?
read the first page bro please man weve covered this so many times, finds the stick yes, but buttons and directions do not work.
read the first page
ajjt, thanks for the help man, must have missed it ^^
Woah, a great explanation u made, cant believe I missed it. ille order the Max Value 4 Port USB 2.0 and hope it will work with it.
Great work you horsedick =) <3
i wish i had known this before i bought a nvidia motherboard
lol, any pc part you buy would have a driver packaged with it. This is such an exceptionally rare situation, that I would be willing to bet one of my TEās (xbox one, so it would work for you) you cannot name a another circumstance where NvidiaāS usb chipset stopped you from using a device.
haha, thats so messed up.
Any chanse to get a patch for the problem anytime soon?
My god, this is ridiculous. How easy would it be for them to release a patch for Nvidia chipsets? Give me a break ā¦
As it stands, the only PC in my house thatās capable of running SF4 is a decked out Nvidia based system. Of course, the Intel-based laptop I have supports the SE stick with no problems, yet wonāt be able to run SF4. Ugh.
Except itās been mentioned before that this has happened with Thrustmaster wheels in the pastā¦
Reverse for me. Laptop can run SF4 but canāt use TE, Desktop can use TE but sucks too much to run SF4 =(
I have exactly the same problem. Emailed MadCatz about it and have yet to receive a reply. Buying a PCI card just to use the TE stick (which claimed to work on PC) is just ridiculous. MadCatz should be responsible for this and release some kind of patch or driver for this. Grrrr
sooo irresponsible but whatever i guess thats why its 10 bucks cheaper than the 360 stick. time to dual mod!
got a pretty old board, asus 8av deluxe with K8T800Pro chipset and AMD cpu
is this stick going 2 work? (win7)
i would go for the 360 version, but its really rare and totally overpriced in my region.
i was sad when i found out my desktop couldnt use the stick when my netbook could
I went out and bought a new usb card for my PS3 TE stick to work.
These 2 cards work for the PS3 TE stick. They are both VIA chipsets and UHCI compatible.
They can both be bought from your nearest bestbuy for a quick fix.

It might be very hard for Madcatz actually, as I highly doubt they have any capable in-house developer to write a driver like that.
Also, the most recent AMD board are usually AMD chip-based. I dont think Nivida is still making Am2/AM3 chipsets. And my PS3 TE does not work on my Phenom on a 780G chipset.
