I figured this would happen, I had used quite a few MadCatz controllers and other devices over my many years of console gaming, and what a joke it has been. I knew it would be too good to be true, MadCatz having one of the best sticks on the market, etc… Bullshit. I am starting to hate myself for listening to everyone recommending the TE… : (
Some people have used Xinput to make the dualshock 3 controller work on PC’s. Please, some programmer find out if there’s a way to use it for the PS3 fightstick.

and Mad Catz hasn’t replied to my email yet.
Eurgh. I spent 2 days Ebaying, googling, and went to every computerstore downtown. Can’t find an expresscard with a VIA chipset. They’re all either NEC chipset or there’s no information on what the chipset is… Or it lists EHCI and OHCI but not UHCI
Anyone have any luck finding an expresscard USB port with a VIA chipset?
edit: Oh… Look at this BS…
Madcatz changed their Q and A on their site
The PS3 SFIV TE/SE FightStick and FightPad does not officially support the PC, but should work with PCs that do not make use of a NVIDIA chipset. If a workaround is discovered, we will post more information for you here.
bull…
Okay, ANGRY EMAIL TIME.
Oh, how I appreciate you Mad Catz, for taking YOUR TIME to update us with your useless information!
Oh, no rider. It’s very useful.
Useful for pissing me off. Fuck MadCatz.
I’m not sure but I think the Dynex PCMCIA card has a via chipset… but they don’t have an expresscard version… eurgh…
I’m not paying ANOTHER $100 to get both the card and the adapter =/
I would rather refund my TE and get a PS3…
My madcatz TE stick for PS3 works on my PC except the R2 button is start and I can’t seem to change that. I think L2 is select so right now I can only play like this
Jab Strong Fierce Roundhouse
Short Forward Start Select
nvm, my madcatz sticks work fine plug and play!!!
So they just e-mailed me, claiming that they never advertised compatibility with PC.
Then what the hell is this?
MarkMan is an employee or otherwise affiliated with MadCatz. He may have given an interested party grounds to file a fraud complaint against MadCatz.
And this:
I want a refund for my stick, including taxes and shipping. What say you, MarkMan, since customer service is such a high priority for MadCatz?
I’m sure there’s something more official that they said that too… But i’m just too lazy to find it.

well I just got my rosewill card. Vista picked it up no issues at all, no need to install driver.
My linux partitio does the same. Vista 64 and Ubuntu 64-bit, now my ps3 stick works with NO issues. Plus the card has pin outs, so I just plugged my Lian-Li case’s front usb ports into, and now I dont even need to reach behind my PC.
Save the 13$ over the best buy card, this thing came in 3 days. ten bucks for an easy solution? hell yah.
Hardware -
MSI Nvidia 750i chipset, Intel Q6600 @ 3.0ghz, 8 gigs of ram, vista 64 and ubuntu 64 bit -
I guess it’s up to hackers know.
Thanks for the info. I posted all that in a thread at the Capcom forums to warn people, hope you don’t mind.

I suppose there a similar card inside every PC that you should replace with this one?
Isn’t there an external solution?
Sadly, not that I know of.
But for those who are wanting to get a via card - get one. It works incredibly well with mame.
Hi shaktazuki,
If you have an issue please contact customer support. At the time I tested the sticks, they worked on my PC and several PCs around the office and at my home, did I test them on EVERY single PC? No I didn’t. I have never said they were for use specifically with PC. I noted compatibility when I tested it.
Also note, that FAQ was not created by me. I have edited some information on that FAQ from time to time, but I did not create it nor should it be used/viewed as an official statement from Mad Catz.
Plus. I’m here on SRK because I love SRK. When I’m on the job and off the job, I’m always on here to get my geeky tech talk on.
Listen guys, Nowhere on this product website or packaging said the PS3 version is compatible with PC’s. There was no false advertising of any kind. The PS3 stick working on some PC’s is just a bonus.
While Markman is an employee of Madcatz, he is just trying to help by posting information he knows by testing stuff himself. He posted that the Ps3 joysticks work at all the pcs and laptops at his office, and are somewhat compatible.
Next time before you buy, maybe you should contact customer service at Madcatz and ask the question beforehand before purchasing a product.
Hi Mark,
I contacted them. They told me to f— off. So much for MC customer support.
By editing the faq, you are indirectly affirming its contents, and in the post above, you affirmed PC compatibility for all sticks.
I’m not interested in a BS “he said, she said” pissing contest; I want to be able to return my stick and get a refund so I can get a stick which IS PC compatible and DOES work with my PS3, whatever software I’m running on it.
I’d rather not have to file a civil suit to do this. Why don’t you guys do the right thing and give me my refund?
No, that’s not what he said: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=5853132&postcount=1884
Now that we know MadCatz employees cannot be relied on for factual descriptions of product functionality, such as “Works with PS3s” - since it does not function with my PS3 when I try to play certain games - maybe we should simply avoid all MadCatz products; not sure what customer service would tell us that the associate product manager would not.
