MadCatZ PS3 TE FightStick: PC - Xp- vista- win7 32-64bit (read 1st post)

My Nvidia motherboard detects the PS3 stick but joystick and button inputs wont work. Is their any PCI usb card on newegg that works? I saw that amazon one but I don’t like in the UK so can’t order that.

Is the tech support email still techsupport@madcatz.com? Because I’ve emailed them two days ago and they’ve not replied. I hope Madcatz did not decide to drop this problem entirely. The faq posted on their website regarding this issue dates back to March and its almost May already.

I emailed them also @ that address and never got a response. I wonder if markman or sven could help get something moving in the right direction for all of us?

Working and not working setups

It works on my Thinkpad R61 (same as T61) fine.

It fails on my (older) nforce4 setup with an “Asus A8N-SLI Premium”

I’m using Linux everywhere but i somehow doubt that it’s a OS or even driver issue.
That’s just a wild guess analysing the comments here though.

What i noticed is that my A8N (and probably all other NForce and lots of AMD setups)
have “ohci” usb chips while my newer R61 Intel laptop is “uhci”. Would it be possible
that “ohci” is a problem source in this case? Don’t know how to check under Windows though.

I think newer hardware is mostly “uhci” usb, but i’m not sure. However pci cards
with uhci for existing machines are super cheap. Most pci usb cards are either NEC or
Texas Instruments based. If one or both work, it will be really easy to find a working card.
You should also see a fat label on the chip on every card to see what it’s using.
Both chips are good and probably better quallity than 3-4yr old onboard ohci
chips.

I have a PS3 TE working fine on WinXP SP3 on an Intel board.

Been playing 3rd strike all week. :lovin:

ps3 TE worked fine on my dell pc when I plugged it up, Win XP SP3 OS

Unfortanetly getting a PCI based USB card is not possible right now. I have a SLI rig that only has one PCI usable really and thats for my soundcard. The only other slot I have open is my pci-e 1x and the cards for that slot are about 80 bucks which is not something I can do right now. So, my only option is for this fix to be released or I won’t be able to use my SE and soon coming TE on my regular pc.

Windows XP Home Edition.

Works like a charm! Just plugged it in and I was able to play

This is pretty infuriating. They’ve had nearly two months since the issue was posted up on the FAQ and yet there’s still no fix. Getting a PCI USB card isn’t an option for me because I’ve got no spare PCI slots in my computer.

I paid $100 for an arcade stick, MadCatz, not a paperweight.

I have a PS3 TE and Vista 64 bit edition. I plugged it in; it downloaded the drivers immediately, and I continued to still suck at SF3.

. This made me laff.

360 TE working on XP SP2 via Boot Camp on Aluminum 2008 iMac. (24")

Edit:

Plugged in, automatically detected and drivers were installed automatically too.

^ This thread is about the PS3 TE, not 360.

And so I’ve emailed Madcatz again 2 days ago and still no reply. Fantastic customer service indeed.

ps3 te does not work on my 64bit vista (hp Pavilion slimline)

ps3 fightpad works fine on the same system.

What emulator are you using? Final Burn works great. So does Neo Rage X. I can’t stand MAME so I don’t use it. I have a Gateway laptop (it’s a beast for a gateway). It doesn’t make much sense that it would be a hardware issue.

the emulator being used doesn’t matter if the control panel > hardware > game controllers doesn’t recognize the stick/buttons.

AMD PS3 TE does not work on computer. booooo.

Agree on the boo. I have AMD x64 with nVidia. The only thing left to ask is “When the hell is this going to be fixed?!”

I’m starting to think “never,” r18_rider.

That sounds about right…

One can always hope, right? LOL. :wgrin:
