You do not see the point. It is not a specfic problem- I mean it happens with Microsoft (Xbox 360 Wireless Controller) as well. I think its more up to the chipset mfg to fix this or not. Mad catz can release some driver as WORKAROUND, but thats not their problem because its not isolated to them.
of course its not isolated to them but still some of us dont have a lot of money, we were told its plug and play (but they did not specify details which leads us with this problem now) and now we are stuck with a joystick that we cant use. i got it so i can play some online games on ggpo and stuff. i dont have a console since i dont have the money for it and now the only solution is to buy a chipset or w/e jsut to use this? ugh please update us on whats going on markman. i havent even used my stick since i got it nowâŚ
HP Pavilion dv5000 = ATI SB400 series southbridge (not sure exactly which)
You canât say itâs not isolated to Mad Catz with your single data point, Iâm afraid. If you have a link to some more info on the MS wireless controller adaptor not working with ATI or nForce southbridges for anyone, please provide it because itâs pretty relevant.
As it stands, the only evidence we have indicates this is Mad Catzâs problem. Iâm more willing to believe that a cheapo factory in China producing their first run of a new design is more likely to fail at meeting specifications than two major (and competing) chipset manufacturers making the exact same error over several of their product versions!
I mean they canât even meet their own specification for getting a washer and groove cut to the correct size, and havenât heard anything about a widespread USB problem with nForce and AMD products.
I hate to bump old topics, but I donât even know if Markman saw when I asked when the drivers would be coming up. I bought it strictly for computer, like many others, so this is really killing me that Iâm stuck playing on keyboard for however long this takes.
Just bumping the thread with another report of the PS3 SE stick not working on PC.
I tried the stick on three PCâs. One using a ATi chipset with an Intel processor. Two are using AMD processors with nForce chipsets. Two are running XP SP2 and one is running XP SP3. I bought the stick with the primary intention of playing fighting games and shmups on my PC. I really hope a solution is found soon.
My TE stick is working on a ASROCk P45XE with E8400 on windows 7 64bit.
When i had it plugged into the USB extension port on my monitor it would recognize the stick but wouldnât register any inputs. When i plugged it directly into the USB ports on the motherboard it works great.
My TE stick works perfectly fine. PS3 version. Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit.
I have an ABit KN8 SLI on WinXP SP3. Showing as wired stick with no movement or button presses. Works fine on PS3.
Itâs probably worth updating your USB drivers or trying a different one. Microsoft do a generic USB2.0 driver that came with SP1 I think, so might be worth uninstalling the USB2 driver that came with your motherboard and trying the MS one?
You mean abit? nForce 4.
Itâs worth playing about with, but I doubt it will help. Weâll all have different driver and OS versions anyway, and Iâve tried a ton of various combinations in Windows as well as Linux. I have OCD for this kind of thing! The Mad Catz PS3 sticks are doing something wrong, and we just have to hope they find a non hardware solution.
Corrected. I just wish they would make drivers. Itâs ridiculous.
Bump. Anyone find anything yet?
Iâve been mapping joystick inputs to keys and using synergy to send the inputs from my old PC to my gaming one over the LAN. Not an ideal solution.
Come on Mad Catz, give us a driver! Even if your dudes are incapable, youâve had Saitek over a year now - theyâre good at drivers.
Even some official word on the issue would be nice.
So far both of mine work with my PCâs.
one is Vista 64, and the other is XP SP2.
Im not too sure about what it does on vista, but on XP, the 360 TE stick does not have the X/Y Axis or Z Axis/Rotation inputs. the ps3 TE stick does however.
Also, the PS3 home button will show up as a button, and the xbox guide button does not. there are also 2 extra buttons on the ps3 one that do not seem to actually have buttons (im guessing they are L/R 3 buttons).
I didnt have to install any drivers at all for either XP or vista.
What kind of processor do you have dav3yb?
Majority of AMD processors and nForce chipsets havenât been working, so Iâd like to know also.
Mine shows as wired stick, but doesnât register any inputs still I came to this thread hoping there would be a solution by now. I guess not eh MC?
for anyone wondering how to get these sticks working, i made a post for the x360 sticks, yeah you guys are gonna need some custome drivers if your ps3 isnt being recognized,
360 support read my guide here
Hi has anyone got these working yet? I have two pcâs my main one is an amd chip and its not working.
My old one is intel and works fine.
Its doing my head in grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
So far, nothing. I think we lack enough incidents for Mad Catz to realize this is an issue that needs to be fixed. Either that, or someone who has some experience with drivers could lend a hand.
