M. Bison's Frame Traps

I like Cr.LK > Cr.MP X2 > Special

I’m gonna really have to start using frame traps on purpose… I looked at the list of these and I had been doing some of them without really realizing it… I wasn’t sure how to use them before today! Interesting…

[S]this should get a sticky.[/S] Thanks to m16ghost and exceed and liluoke for the great info.

Frame trap into Ultra 1. noted 7 hit combo.

Is this still accurate for 2012?!

yup

Nothing changed for Bison in 2012 so yes

One thing I don’t understand from that video. How something is Counter Hit and Trade at the same time?

It’s not at the same time. The CH is from the j.lk, and the cr.hp trades with Ryu’s cr.lk

weird
Cr.LK hitstun is 13
Cr.HP hitstun is 22.

22-13 = 9f. How can a Ultra land?

That’s a good question. The only answer I can come up with is that it has to do with the hitstop differences between lights and fierces, giving the extra frames. Kinda like how absorbing focus attacks seems to change frame advantage properties as well.

This is basically the same OS as

Yes. Could be. I know armor grants 3f advantage from hitpause to the armored one.

I just get pass some serious chun li player last night.
funny I was prepare to Focus the Hazanshu, but instead when during block string the SUPER coming out (I think is try to bait my focus)
but, guess what? Focus trade with super and STOP the super (mediocre damage)…
If you read chun block string, and focus release, dash back, the risk still low, she have to fireball-jump in approach, if ground to ground Bison fking win.
when she have super, she wins, but this found was kind of amazing since most of time you should on lead on chun, only thing you could
lose is her meter and stun ability…

chun´s super loses to Focus bait, hosenka dont

I think UC1 is the best, but I still love bait out super if I could.
I play that MU like Sagat + Guile…

If in mid range I have such lead, I don’t really worry about UC1, that thing don’t juggle correct if you do FADC charge to lv 2, unless you at corner.
and that make that bait game so free, she can’t really punish it in middle ground beside some super lighting lag combo for hit stun (Stun at fuzzy guard)
I knew a chun player can literary do that, sad he move back to Pittsburgh now…

wut? i cant understand your post :S

Quick question - St Short gives +3 on block, roundhouse starts up in 6 frames so the roundhouse will trade with Balrog’s Cr Jab if he’s mashing.

Is the best way of trapping a mashing rog to use Cl Jab as a setup for the RH instead?

You mean cls.Jab - s.RH?, I suppose it can work, if you can get some block advantage from a jump in or something, since cls.jab is a 6 frame button. Probably not the best thing to do against a Rog who “mashes” jab. As a general rule frame traps aren’t strong against Rog, especially Bison’s, you might wanna do some safe tick throw set ups in the offense instead and be lame.

Some Chun player I know when he can’t hit the super since I was dead blocking and I hear he buff like everything I whiff in front of him, he will get a opening and
as soon as anything hits he will use whole super meter to FADC the lag and shoot for hit stun. (lag FADC lag FADC lag)
normally it will end up I am like 1 hit away, and knock me down, on wake up I either gets instant overhead, or a jump in with fuzzy guard hit me.

I play a very good chun in CEO, Toi is his name I think, a GDLK Chun I must said…

Man whoever said use close st.mk as a frame trap tool is a genius. Totally skipped over that when looking at the frame data. Wonder why we don’t see it used that often by Bison players? I’d have to admit though, landing a counter-hit st.hp is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
