M.bison USF4 , any Rumors of buff/nerf changes?

Far Standing MP start-up reduced from 8F to 6F; now Special-, Super Combo- and EX Focus-cancellable
Crouching HP start-up reduced from 12F to 10F
Bison Warp total frames increased from 42F to 47F
L Double Knee Press changed from ±0 to -1 on block; damage increased from 60*30 to 60*40
M Double Knee Press damage increased from 60*50 to 60*60
H Double Knee Press damage increased from 70*60 to 70*70
EX Double Knee Press damage increased from 70*70 to 70*80
Head Press start-up reduced from 22F to 20F
Devil Reverse movement speed slightly increased
Psycho Punisher (UC2) damage reduced from 450 to 420; charge time reduced from 55F to 40F

He have no nerf beside the -1 on block. Which, relaly, is a pretty big nerf, I’m not sure all of the other buff makes up for it. Since lk.sk kinda define him.

Far standing MP buff is interesting though. What do you think they expect us to do with it? I rarely see this move used in footise.

For me, the problem with the changes is that they keep ignoring his flawed specials:Devil Reverse, Headpress, Skull Diver.

If you look at the Vega, Guile, E. Ryu, Oni, Ken, Dhalsim buffs … this is more or less an insult … haha … crazy buffs for mid to high tier characters …

Gonna just cuss out Capcom on Twitter every day until USF4.

Seriously, I don’t even care about the buffs if sk gets nerfed.

I dont think that SK -1 nerf is the big problem … it is more that there are not enough other buffs to compensate this … look at Guile --> He basically got bug fixes and an improved Ultra 1/2 BUT this is exactly what was needed ! Or look at Vega … holy s… it is like you would have given Bison:

  • cr.hp 7f start up
  • st.hk flat 110 damage
  • 10 more damage on SK (front load)
  • 10 more damage and 200 stun on PC
  • EX PC only one hit
  • Skull Diver longer active + better hitbox
  • DR longer active + better hitbox
  • faster start up and frame advantage on cls.mp + far.mp (+special chancel)
  • faster start up + less charge time on Ultra 1+2

I know … this would be overkill … but seriously … Guile/Ken/Vega got similar stuff … are this chars so much weaker than Bison ??? Dont think so …

For those going to Dreamhack, I have one test. Everything else is in the changelist, anyway.

So far, Headpress/Devil reverse got 44f of flying animation + ground recovery. Up until now, Headpress had 22f startup, which means he started attacking during the peak of the jump. Now, it is 20f… which means either Headpress got sped up (40f) or Bison starts headstomping while he’s still rising.

Basically, see if Headpress is quicker.

Also, just curious… test if CloseHP Counter Hit > EX Headpress combos against Hugo. (25f hitstun x 20f startup)

Kim says close hp doesn’t combo into headpress, CH or not, but I’m not sure if he really tested it. Close fierce into EX headstomp would be a nice buff, but ultimately not very useful I think.

That would be great mate, I would like you to test if the new St.MP is good to counter dive kick, it will be good if you could try to counter badly spaced Yun dive kick with St.Mp and then cancel into PC,see if it cross-up. Also if you could check if they changed the charge time for scissors kick, They changed Balrog charge time and I am assuming they will do something universal to charge characters because I believe I read somewhere that they are looking at improving charge characters because in the current state of the game they seems lacking.

Kim’s questionnaire doesn’t really say much, unless there were more pages. It’s asking what you think of the new characters and who you play

The big question is, would you even still be able to cross up PC after the LK scissors nerf? If not, it shutdowns even more options after lk scissors.

You don’t want to jump too much with Bison at high play, so scissors LK being 0, is a must to get close to your op!

The nerf was just to block stun. They might have nerfed the recovery instead, but cross up pc has a lot of leeway after lk scissors on hit.

Dont know what game you were playing in the last 6 month BUT Ken & Oni are in my opinion still A Tier chars. Guile and E. Ryu are also solid mid tier chars and Vega is also not a bottom tier char. A lot of this chars (e.g. Vega, Guile) are only weak because they suffer against Vortex BUT this will change and on top of this they are getting really solid buffs and no hard nerfs. Bison is also a solid mid tier char that has some solid MUs … but I dont see any reason to nerf him without giving him other buffs …

So … dont know what you want !?

Headpress startup is up there. Of course Close HP into Headpress wouldn’t combo normally just by decreasing startup. It didn’t combo against THawk in v2012 after all. But…it almost did. So the only testing is against Hugo.

Why would you want that anyway? Its not a hard knockdown, so you can’t follow up.

EX Headpress is, but it’s for fun anyway. I don’t think getting close to Hugo to try a Counter Hit Close HP would be a good idea anyway.

I am pretty sure that it is useless … what the 20 f start up will change is maybe a better anti SRK EX Headstomp … but I dont think that it will make a major impact … unfortunately

Skull Diver > cr.mp > st.mp X PC … this could be something … maybe it works !?

You could already do skull diver, cr.mp, cr.mk xx whatever on a bunch of characters. Unfortunately, skull diver still sucks.

A lot of characters were changed so that their reversals were invincible at least until the first active frame:
Honda EX Oicho
Juri’s EX legs
Rose EX Spiral
Vega EX flip kick
Chun’s U2
Guile’s flashkicks
Ibuki’s dp

Except for Cody’s EX CU. They are also probably going to leave Bison’s reversals all the same way as they are now (i.e. getting thrown out of EX-PC, or trading for half damage).

Where are you guys getting info on other character changes?
