M.bison USF4 , any Rumors of buff/nerf changes?

Wow I didn’t know about jump in U1 but I guess it makes sense with the faster startup.

I was playing a Yun, and I got him once with the s.mp (like in Shadow’s video he posted a while ago) but did not land the c.fierce. I whiffed the fierce though once, which told me I just need to learn the spacing and timing. so training mode here we come!

This pretty much sums up my position on Bison thus far. I think he is “good” for sure, definitely better off in terms of the lame crap that was forced on him and some of his lacking move list. If he is top tier or not in the final analysis is to early to judge.

That was how I felt at ECT. I am thinking we need to have a real long and hard look at just where teleport IS useful now.

As I suspected, the only sure situation where it works is escaping cross ups. Outside of that, is anyone’s guess.

Exactly, it’s not about “who is right” or that sort of childish nonsense. Yes I changed my opinion, and yes I was complaining about Bison. But isn’t the complaining understandable when we all know the character was ass and we were constantly told he was “solid” and forced to endure nerf after nerf with gimmicky changes? Of course many of us are not going to be exactly forthcoming when changes come. We will be skeptical and annoyed. Thus is the effect of abuse.

However, that does not mean that reason is completely out the window. I had shifted my opinion, as Duaie here also remembers, once I realized that the system changes might have a serious impact, because previously I was unaware of them. Also, if you guys recall there was much debate about the AA, which I was against. That is another thing I actually changed my mind about as well.

I think the issue here is that Shadow is personalizing bullshit, but it should not be personal, because nothing was ever directed at him as an attack, at least not by me. I have always been the one to try to bring reason and defuse issues. I’m sure Shadow is just a bit upset or having a bad day.

Let’s keep this flow going though!

Lol at dat Bison drama and walls of text instead of finding tech.

Whatever. We’re all fairly satisfied now, we should laugh at ourselves for bitching (we all did a bit in our own heads no?) and remember we are made an inter web family by playing linear, lame ass Bison for 5 years instead of picking a character with mixups and winning.

How about we start testing his cr. fierce to RFA Option Select on the cast? That’s a lot of people to ‘Change Character’ for. We should split up duties. I’ll do the first ten, left to right starting from the top left of the menu.

PS: someone (take credit, too lazy to go back and check) posted the OS as:

cr. jab, cr. jab~ cr.fierce, cr.jab~cr.mp~cr.mk

which comes out as cr. jab, cr. jab, cr. jab if they don’t backdash, comes out as cr. jab, cr. fierce automatically into RFA for your ULTRAing pleasure.

So that OS kinda sucks. No one’s backlash is that bad. I’m going to try Sagat soon and mess around with more RFA OS possibilities.

Against Decapre: Back throw, dash forward, cross up j.mk miraculously STUFFS her MP and HP wakeup DP reversal, you even get a counter hit

Maybe I’m wrong but they could just be slower lol.

Edit: Against Decapre, back throw, step and a half forward, jump in fierce makes all her DPs whiff. If she doesn’t do them she just blocks.

What I am trying to figure out are 1. the universal spacing for C.HP to AA clean. 2. spacing for trades/and or timing for it. 3. character specific C.HP AA use again in terms of spacing and such. First we need the universal distances spelled out, then we can build upon that.

Her Mp Dp is projectile invincible and her Hp dp is throw invincible. All dp’s start up in 5 frames. I use 4 frame safe jumps due to her anti-air U2.

okay so I tested cr. jab, cr. jab~ cr.fierce, cr.jab~cr.mp~cr.mk Option Select on the top row of the char select from Decapre to Elena:

works on:
Ryu
Ken
Honda
dudley
gouken
akuma
sakura
oni
elena

Not on:
Decapre
Ibuki
Makoto
seth
gen
dan

Anyone want to do the next row?

I am trying to find out about what Mr. Unknown was talking about when he said you could j.hp into U1. Is that U1 right after the jumping fierce or after a c. or s. normal?

What difference 2 frames makes, anti air Ultra 1 is glorious that and crouch fierce is godly. I just down back all day trade with jumps then Ultra there ass.
People gotta fight Bison the ground which is nice for a change.

Ultra 1 after jump hp. It work if you land it deep.

Yes it’s me who post this OS. It work also against Cody, Dee Jay, Guile, Guy, M.Bison, Rolento and Yang

I know it’s amazing to enjoy what other characters have had since vanilla. Justice!

I see so it’s deep j.hp followed imediatly bu U1?

Edit: yo I just played a Rufus lol @ dude fool trying to dive kick for free! Yo it feels damn good lol

Second Edit: If I could sum up what the Bison changes mean for the character I actually have to hand it to Combofiend. They did the job right. Bison is no longer brain dead. Now he is sophisticated and more interesting. I am having so much more fun and thinking allot more about my options. It’s way better. No matter where he ultimately rests in terms of tiers he is now fun to play.

I would love a list of situations where cHP is now usable, or preferable.

I was trying to think of shit too. Best I could come up with is crossups and full screen chip fireballs on wakeup, lol. Without meter, I feel it’s too baitable. When people see you teleport now, it’s attack mode.

anybody using both Ultras? I stopped using U2, it’s fucking awful now, nobody is stupid enough to fall for it

Yeah and with U1 being an AA option, who would ever use U2 anyway? It is worthless basically, even with the added charge time.

@exogen

Yup. Forward jump hp straight into U1. Start charging immediately after the jump and hit the hp at the opponent’s waist.

whiff punishing after blocked scissors with st.mp is so gdlk.

short short short scissor kick is like perfect spacing to do so too.

now everyone is just jumping away or back dashing and not bothering to pressure me back once they block scissors. this gives me free roundhouses.

You ain’t lying brother! This shit is unbelievable. I’m blowing these fools up. It’s so funny to watch them squirm when they realize their get out of jail free harassment tools are gone and they actually have to play legit.

Right, I swear it feels like a complete character. It feels like I finally have options, like how Rufus has felt since the beginning of vanilla. Speaking of Rufus. I played one today. lol this fool kicked me out of his room after I C.HP’d the daylights out of his dive kicks. He was totally mind fucked!

And now with DWU I am starting to see why Combofiend said that in Japan everyone is saying that Daigo is unbeatable now. It makes you have to fight fair. so hilarious how Akuma get’s rapped by U1 when he tries to vortex in for free.

Justice has finally come around for the Bison players. I thought I would never see the day.

I still didn’t like the S.MP. It whiffs a lot. The reduced damage by itself was OK, but if it doesn’t connect, it won’t do. Cr.MP and Cr.MK as much more reliable.

My impressions so far, but keep in mind I haven’t played this game for 2 months and I haven’t touched Bison for 5 months or so. So take it as you will.

  • st.mp is pretty good. Not as good as a poke as I expected, as it gets beaten by a crap-load of normals. Good for pressure since it covers a range we couldn’t reach before, but in terms of hitboxes it’s pretty crappy.

  • cr.hp is good, but not that good. Even if done early, it gets beaten by a lot of jump-ins if timed right, especially the ones with a good vertical hitbox like Sakura’s j.HK, E.Ryu’s j.HK, and so on. It’s great against fools who jump at very stupid moments, which is good since we didn’t have an answer for that in the previous versions, but at high levels, it’s not gonna make a big difference imo. Just another reason for scrubs to hate Bison.

  • Regarding teleport, it’s bad as an escape tool as expected, but in terms of uses, one could be to screw up the charge on charge characters after a throw, since DWU already fucks up our crossup setup. It’s better than dashing in if you don’t mind losing some corner carry.

  • RF is pretty good. Situational, but can make the difference in a match. The extra meter is usually worth the damage.

  • ex SK is so much easier to use now. I still can’t punish booms on reaction though, maybe I’m just bad, or maybe it’s the online lag.

  • DWU is (obviously) not as bad as I expected. Pressure is still there, it’s just not a braindead 50/50 anymore.

Overall, Bison is vastly improved, but I still don’t know how good he’ll end up being in a high level competition. Especially when there are some characters who seem extremely powerful right now.

I expect to see Bison more in Top 8.

Then this:

Also U2 is still useful, I even see pros still throwing fireballs when Bison has U2 stocked.

Woah so you can trade with Cr Fierce then go straight to U1 and it hits? I haven’t got the game yet so can’t test anything but that’s awesome if that’s right.
