Capcom needs to understand that Bison is only strong against players who don’t know how to fight him. Once you learn how to block and tech throws, he has no real way to open up opponents and do any damage, apart from chip. Not to mention that at certain ranges, he is free to jump-ins.
It seems they are mostly listening to the under 2k PPs idiots who still have to learn how to play the game. This whole “community-made patch” concept is bullshit, and I wouldn’t be surprised if people went back to AE2012, because by the looks of it, this update is FAR from balanced.
I agree that if they don’t revert some of the ridiculous buffs to some characters, AT LEAST make SK +0 on block.

don’t listen to anyone that tells you otherwise, -1 DOES ruin his pressure by definition. The point of SK pressure was to create a spacing where you are neutral on block and can use your great normals to ‘open people up.’ People are fidgety, they don’t like sitting there without being able to push buttons, so they flinch and get hit. That’s how we open people up on the neutral game. It gets smarter with better players and it becomes a neutral, low stakes guessing game that only favors Bison indirectly. Making it -1 means WE have to sit there and block, giving an open invitation for your opponent to push any button they see fit because fear of CH will override the guessing game of maybe landing a cr. short into scissors for a meagre soft knockdown. it totally reverses the utility of that move. It’s completely different now. Pushing a button after blocked scissors is suicide, I have no idea why anyone could think he can pressure fine if you can’t even do that. Maybe they were yoloing it and caught people pushing slow buttons, but in reality pushing cr. short after scissors will get us killed, especially by DERP EX MOVE into ULTRA. You could nerf the hitbox/hurtboxes and pushback, whatever, what made that move work was that it was neutral on block. Bison’s neutral game just got a hell of a lot more defensive and boring. Sit, bait, punish, anticipate jump ins so we can antiair cr. fierce them. Puh leeze.
Valle was saying last night that Bison is far from unplayable in the build they had a Super Arcade, and I’d take his word since he has played Bison to an extent in this game.
That’s not exactly exuberant praise.
Of course he’s playable. Even Guy/Dudley is playable in v2012. We just don’t want Bison to be like him. We want him at Adon level.

So it seems Bison near useless ultras will not be made more useful. Such a shame , his ultra have an awesome animation I wish we could land it more often:(. Imagine Psycho crusher FADC into ultra 2(motion move), that would have been awesome.

Why is Capcom so scared of making Bison good? Isnt the entire goal of Ultra for everyone to be able to win a major tournament? Its pretty frustrating how Bison always gets shitted on due to scrubs that dont know how to play crying about his gameplay. -1 on SK is the absolutely worst nerf to his game. We dont even have good viable way of connecting our Ultras. When I play AE, I play like im playing SF2. I dont have an Ultra unless the opponent does a massive mistake and then Im able to punish. My gameplay is to beat you with footies and mind games, getting an Ultra during a match is a cherry on top. Teleport is utterly useless now, they make it seem like it wasnt punishable before which is highly incorrect. If things dont get better, Im seriously going to consider a new character and that pains me so much cause its taken me years to get good with Bison. Love its style, it fucking speaks to me.

May as well just play Vega/Chun. They got a better ground game than him by the looks of it.
I am hoping by the time Ultra is ready to come out he will get buffed to Chun/Vega level. Otherwise yeah you should just play Chun or Vega they do what Bison can but better.

A friend of mine, Red Ranger (a blanka player) told me one of the guys who holds regular tournaments (I forget which one but its a big one) has already told him and others. that if Ultra sucks, he will just have AE tournaments and act as though Ultra doesn’t exist.
I for one, am considering simply not playing Ultra or quitting SF altogether until a game comes out where Bison is actually made into a solid character again. There are after all, other more important things I could be mounting my time with that don’t involve such masochism.
Capcom really does hate Bison though, I don’t care what they say. They are simply cowering to the noobs. Its not fair but they don’t really give a shit at the end of the day because its all a wash to them. Bison will still destroy noobs and it will be at least easier for them to deal with him now, which is really all Capcom gives a shit about. They are in reality not interested in our concerns for Bison at high level play. They simply don’t care. Think about it guys, SF4 series as it is is dumbed down from what SF games used to be. They have no interest in making Bison the way he should be because it would make him impossible to beat when facing noobs. All they care about is noobs being less frustrated so they can rack up more time playing, which in the long run is equated with spending more money on costumes and bullshit packs that Capcom spits out like clockwork. This whole “feedback” system is nothing but a marketing ploy, and we fell for it hook line and sinker. Don’t believer me, well why are they trying so desperately to sell the -1 nerf and not even talking about the teleport nerf. Notice how they play up the S.mp as if it makes him Godlilke “so good.” Notice how they do all this on stream so that everyone can see. Its marketing, and it explains why they aren’t saying anything but trying to justify the nerfs. More importantly they are just trying to draw attention away from the fact that they have failed to implement the changes we have all been asking for, the changes he needs and deserves. Their only objective is money. I play SF because its fun and I like the challenge and the opportunity to grow as a player. But what is the point if the only character I really enjoy and have always loved in the series is neglected, given half ass buffs which don’t address his underlying structural problems (problems we all unanimously agree on), and given nerfs of all things? I for one am not going to torture myself. There are, as I said, better things to mount my time. I’m going to speak to Combofiend at the next location test, and if Capcom fails to listen, then fuck em, I’m out.
Problem is that it really seems like that the streams tell the story of Bison is very solid now BUT you dont see any footage from a competent Bison player. M. Ross was making jokes about the internet shit storm about the SK -1 nerf … well … a guy that also was complaining like hell about Adon and his JKs @ SEA majors to a point that it was kinda obvious that he just wants this character to be nerfed. I really dont want to make up things here but what I just dont understand is WHY THE F… is Makoto, Guile, Ken, Oni, E. Ryu AND on top of that Sagat, Viper and Balrog only getting absolutely solid buffs and basically no nerfs ??? Seriously … Sagat is better than Bison currently and Balrog is even with him … why is Sagat getting his s.lk x special stuff back ???

Makoto got buffed because, “she’s not top tier, she loses to Akuma and Cammy vortex”. Cammy and Akuma are the only two characters in AE2012. #Kappa
I thought Ken needed buffing, but he’s actually broken right now. Evil Ryu needed slight buffs, nothing major. Sagat/Viper/Balrog… whatever. People claim Balrog sucks and I don’t see how. I naturally hate Guile, because Bison.
I was considering just using Vega/Chun from now, but I can’t legs to save my life. I can jab -> hands, but struggle with legs… Da fuq? Vega… Oh my God. I’m used to having shitty AA with Bison but this guy can’t AA for shit, it’s actually frustrating to block with him. One wrong guess is actually game over. I don’t see how giving Bison damage/combos makes him a better character, they’re not addressing the issues, just giving him stuff he doesn’t need. I’ve always seen him as a pressure character more than turtle, so I never understand the nerfs he gets.

Well, sure, if they’re improving him VASTLY in other areas, but from the look of things, they are not. The very situational cr hp being two frames faster makes no difference, really. Only noteworthy buff as of now is far mp being cancelable, but it sure as hell isn’t enough to make Bison viable. What the **** is up with buffing characters like Ken, Vega and Chun-Li a lot when the roughly equal Bison gets nerfs? This is the first time throughout the IV series that I am saying this, but **** you, Capcom!

To answer your question, No I will not be satisfied with just reverting back the nerfs.
The promise of the game was to make every character top tier in that they all have a chance to win a major and the game will come down to the player rather than the character.
What we asked for was grounded and balanced, we asked for more damage to compensate his weak ability to open people up. Bison has a predictable and liner gameplan with poor mix-up potential and that why he need to deal good damage because he has limited opportunities to deal damage in the first place. They gave him damage buffs and an excellent fix to his damage issues by making st.Mp faster and cancelable which also fixed Bison combo issues whiffing against Balrog ,Guy, Seth, Abel…etc. And… well that pretty much it in terms of useful buffs.The Cr.Hp buff is not that great if it function the same as the PC Mod , the move trade consistently because the active frames start low on the ground. If they speed it up by an extra frame or 2 and made the hitbox similar to Balrog cr.Hp than we will have a really good buff. also they haven’t buffed hell attack
What annoys me is that they did not look at his moves set and evaluate it is uses. outside of L.SK and his good normals (Which is heavily prone to trade) Bison has a very situational special moves that are among the slowest in the game so you have to guess and commit to it to actually use them because the risk heavily out-wight the reward. He has no way to combo into untechable knockdown even from heavy jump in attacks (Were some character can combo an ultra from heavy jump attacks). Furthermore, he is heavily reliant on meter and does not get rewarded enough for using FADC combos. He has two near useless ultra that does not asset him in a match and that should be addressed because it is unfair that he does not benefit from a major game system. They did not improve his ultra utility at all and did not give him ways to connect into ultras. Despite that they have gone to such lengths to fix Guile ultra 1 by making it a 5 frame move with 15 invincible frame and an insane autocorrect ability . But Bison ? leave his near useless ultras the same as two of the slowest ultras in the game with a very limited utility that we often forget we have one.
Bison seems as one of the least benefiting characters from the new system mechanics. Red focus already seems as a huge issue with Bison as with 2 bar there is too much risk in using Sk (Red focus will already give SK troubles, -1 on SK never seemed more illogical). Double ultra will be useless to him (in the PC mod I red focused Bison ultra 1 fully xD).

On top of that his Ultras need to startup faster at least for U2 and depending on how good a buff Hell attack receives.
