M. Bison ftw (Dictator Thread)

Are those corner trap “infinites” still usable in HDR? I’ve tried to pull off the st. short, cr.forward, strong psycho crusher loop in training, but I couldn’t get the strong PC to come out consistantly. Seems I can’t get enough charge to pull it off or something.

Everything is still useable unless one of the stated changes make it impossible.

I find the game is exactly the same except for the stated changes and Boxer having TAP negative edge issues. People complain about punching the wrong way but I don’t notice it with more frequency than arcade or Dreamcast ST.

As Airthrow said, everything should still be usable on HDR. I’ve tested the Dic vs. Dic one as well as the one stated above in training and in casual play and they still work fine.

havent read this whole thread so not sure its been posted, but heres how to rape dumb chun li players…

for ones that spam j.lk and especially off the wall, if you are out of range just wait for them to land it and hit them with a scissor kick into whatever… it takes them out of their game

No disrespect but people don’t really need advice on how to punish whiffs, they need advice for how to trade or beat attacks that would otherwise do damage or zone, man.

If you’re having issues with the charging, you may want to try not doing this:
b, f + mp
and doing this instead:
b, f, b+ mp

It gives you those precious extra frames.

Walking Psycho Crusher / Scissor Kicks CPU style.

Works both on the X-Box 360 and the PS3 on the left side only.

I’ve never been able to do that. All it does is make me whiff my special.

You may be doing it too slowly, you shouldn’t see him move forwards of backwards much if at all.

It also might help to think of the move as a 2 part move:
the first part is to charge,
the second part is to go from forwards to back. By this I mean move the stick as fast from f to b as you would doing it regularly.

Of course, if the above doesn’t help, just keep in mind that you need to do the motion quickly and it might take a few tries to get the feeling if your habit is to just go b, f instead.

Here’s a new tool for you guys. I don’t play Dictator but have fun:
WALK FORWARD SUPER

Speaking of that glitch, might as well post this combo here:

Cross Up J.Roundhouse - Close S.Short - walk - Close S.Short - walk - Close S.Short - C.Forward - any charge Back to Forward move. Note: You must Cross Up from Player 2 side.

Dizzy, plus heavy damage. You can also add another walking Close S.Short on Honda. I wonder if this is really practical with this glitch? I wish I could make a YouTube vid on this combo.

So much more effort is put into that combo but you get nothing more out of it.

Doing that whole walking charge thing just to add one more s.lk in isn’t worth it since you’ll probably get a dizzy which leads to death anyway.

I have been doing much better against Honda players lately thanks to the uploaded matches featuring YuuVega’s Dictator and Kusumondo’s E.Honda. However, I still have a question that puzzles me:

Can Honda’s cr.LP -> Ochio Throw be reversed with the Fake Head Stomp since it supposedly has a few invincibility frames during its start up? If it does work, could you “piano” the Fake Head Stomp to increase your chances of a successful reversal? Doing this (if it works) would make much more sense than going for a reversal throw for obvious reasons.

Also, I have a few general questions:

  1. Which reversals can reverse a well-timed meaty Head Stomp? Those that hit on the first frame?

  2. I am having a difficult time breaking holds promptly on the sixaxis no matter how wildly I mash the d-pad and the face buttons? Am I doing something wrong or is there a trick to escaping holds early?

Use devils reverse to get out of traps

and piano anything to increase reversal chance

If by “fake head stomp” you mean devil’s reverse (d, u + p) then no, the 2 frames of invincibility will not let you escape the tick before the ochio unless the cr lp is poorly timed. However, that being said, it is a special move and it does still build super meter, which will bring you to your super more quickly, which is the only real way out of Honda’s throw loop. Plus, if you’re getting knocked out of the air with cr lp instead of eating it, it may throw the other player off because they’re expecting you to either get hit and stay on the ground, or block-- either way they’d assume you recover in a set amount of time, which you don’t if you got hit while airborne (sometimes this works online, don’t expect it to work against someone who’s on top of their game).

Conclusion: go for it, if only to build the super.

damn i picked up dic yesterday and started to win most of the time online. dic is amazing!
still dont know much about him.
although i suck with d/u charge motions, i almost never get them to work.
very depressing to lose a match because you fucked up the input, even more depressing to
practice those because you always have to wait so long to be able to try again.
after jumping 10 times in a row instead of doing devil’s reverse i get nervous :S

still, so much fun!

Ok guys I need for some of you to critique my Bison. Look at these vids and tell me what I’m doing good, bad, what I need to do differently, etc.

Any tips on countering claws flying grab? That move is fucking kicking my ass, most of his wall moves are a big problem for me actually.

Yeah i think Sirlin put that move in specifically to avoid honda’s death trap. I’m pretty sure there is a way out of that throw situation with that move, maybe doing the DR after the crouching lp.

Just J. mp that shit. :karate:
