BTW, I was posting late at night that you can’t do 3x j. mp, super. Yes, you can do 3 j. mp’s and then super, but the super does such ass-tacular damage there is no reason to ever do it except in casuals to try to look cool, it only does one hit and you are losing your best reversal move. Only use it if it will kill them.
I believe that there is a way to hit confirm combo into bison’s super, I think it’s the same trick as Boxer uses, let me try it and then post it if I can get it to work.
You are probably doing it too early, do it at the last second and it will stuff a non-crossup j. hk cleanly.
The jumping strong, jumping strong X 2, SUPER air float combo can be done as a 5-hitter where two hits from Vega’s SUPER connect at the end of the combo depending primarily on two factors: timing, and distance to corner.
If your opponent is cornered at the end of the jumping strong X 2 the SUPER will connect for two hits usually, it’s much easier, not nearly as strict as say when you’re mid screen.
If you are mid screen trying this combo, you need to delay the SUPER enough that two hits connect, and it’s NOT easy. It requires precision timing.
I’m going to go into TRAINING right now and test out how often I can get the 5-hitter in 30 tries.
Edit: Yeah when your opponent is floated in the corner connecting two hits from the SUPER has pretty lenient timing. In the open I was only landing it about 50% of the time.
I’ve rarely seen this combo used at any level of play. If you’re going to practice combos practice the touch of death and cross up combos.
I have been practicing an awful lot lately and I have finally managed to pull off some of Dictator’s advanced combos.
cross up j. HK, st. LK, st. LK, cr. MK, Fierce Psycho Crusher always dizzies (just like in Super Turbo). If the same combo is replaced with a j. MK, the combo will not always dizzy.
j. HP, st. LK, cr. MK, Psycho Crusher / Scissor Kicks has a very high chance of dizzying Dictator’s opponent (similarly to Akuma’s cross up AFB, cr. MK, MK Hurricane Kick, DP).
I still cannot pull off cross up j. HK, st. LK, st. LK, st. LK, st. HK and I still struggle against Honda’s corner traps and tick throws. Dictator needs an invulnerable move. Sirlin should have given us the teleport instead of the fake slide, lol, so we have at least something to work with.
Also, can anyone explain at what distances st. LP and st. HP act as anti air?
Roundhouse has a higher dizzy meter range than forward.
The timing on connecting standing short to standing roundhouse is strict. It also helps if you the roundhouse with joystick neutral. This one takes tons of practice but it’s worth it as being able to connect standing short to roundhouse is essential when you are comboing with a charge.
I will try the RH with the stick at neutral, I find to get all 3 lk’s to link, holding forward and tapping seems to help. So maybe the ideal is f(hold) lk,lk,lk (neutral) RH?
Hawks jump jab wiffs completely against Dicts low Forward. If Hawks spamming jump jab, just hit him with a low forward, knee press combo. After eating a couple of those, Hawk will stop using jump jab, but hell start using other jump ins that you can beat, or trade with in the air.
Ok, against chun li i believe jumping straight up with roundhouse will trade or stuff her monstrous jumping short. Really against chun you should be more worried about her other considerable arsenal of bullshit, her throw game, nasty ground normals and walk up super. Im not very knowledgeable in this match though…still look for an opening to slip in with scissor kicks, a clean mix-up with head stomps and DRs may be able to throw her game off (referring to youtube, look up Yuuvega vs prince’s chun li to maybe gain some insight in improving in that match-up). For blanka correct me if I am wrong but jumping strong and roundhouse (which ever you prefer) will beat or trade depending on the situation, again im not sure though. Hope i help a little. = )
Omerta, I had never played against a good T. Hawk player before, so I would just beat them with Generic tactics. But today I was playing against a scrub Hawk on ranked, and I remembered what you said and did cr. mk when he would jump jab. It was hilarious because it worked and it doesn’t look like it should, but it beats it cleanly.
So I hope that will help me when I face a real Hawk player.
Thanks man,I didn’t know that.In genaral though Hawk is the only character that gives me trouble consistently in the hands of a good player.Ferdi NL comes to mind.
