EDIT: Sorry, just didn’t feel like typing everything out. If the first version of a weapon has an effect, then all versions likely have that effect unless otherwise stated. Usually, the “II” versions are alternate playing styles from the “I” and the “SP” versions are stronger versions of the “I” weapons. Gold versions do not seem to have any differences from the “I” versions. Also, I didn’t write out any of the damage/range properties.

Is there a positive/negative about each gun/grenade (ie theres a reason why you’d want to stick with Machine Gun I over II or SP?)? A majority just seem to have different styles/advantages, while others are kinda vague (like the Rocket Launcher II…are you saying it only tracks, it doesn’t have splash damage like Rocket Launcher I?).

Fuuuuuck. I bought both versions cause I want to play with different people. I hope they patch that shit or something =/

I don’t know about all of them, but MGII has a wider bullet spray than MG, so it’s much less accurate at range.

Cancel your pre-orders kids! Pick up Lost Planet 2 from K-Mart tuesday so you can get…

  • 3 Month Live Card
  • Salamander/Sir Om Nom Nom Plush

I dunno. That vs 2 extra multiplayer maps. I’m kinda leaning with sticking with my preorder.

Sweet! I’m canceling my Gamestop pre-order. Want that plush. Screw the MP maps, fucking hated MP versus anyway.

Here are the faction unlockables. The number before each item is the level that the faction has to be for the unlock.

of course nothing new to LP vets but it goes into the nuances in the game like how rolling constantly is = to holding b to run in terms of speed and abusing i frames on rolling and picking up weapons to survive grenades, etc. Nice to check out though. I wonder how the reception in the east this game is getting?

edit: though the shoot then roll is cool when you combine with grenades. and i never knew you get hurt more if you are hit during the non i frame part of rolling and i played the first one lol.

Fuck. They didn’t get any plushies.

All that stuff is basic, but good to go over if you haven’t played Colonies or the original in a while (like me). What is with shooting people out of mechs the guy was doing at around 8:50 or so? That must be new, I remember only certain energy weapons/grenades could knock people out of mechs in Colonies.

Energy weapons make people eject. I also think if you headshot the driver then it makes them eject (kills them…whatever).

Well I found a store that had all three (game, card, plush). You should still pick it up at K-Mart if they have the card though because for whatever strange reason the computer makes the card free and then when you get charged the card is taken off again somehow and you end up only paying $39.99 + tax.

I haven’t played the first one becasue I wasn’t really into FPS games. While I don’t really care for multiplayer, I do enjoy the story modes. I just got done playing Resistance 1 and I’ll be playing resistance 2 this weekend. After seeing all the trailers and stuff for LP2, I plan to buy a used copy of LP1 so I can know what’s going on. The trailers look awesome, so I’m all for playing this one.

You don’t need to play LP 1 to know what is going on. LP is like it’s own contained story. The only thing you need to know is that people were trying to habitat a new snow planet and they got killed by giant insects.

Forget the reviews. Saving is NOT an issue since it only takes 15-20 minutes per chapter (faster after the first time or with experienced players). There are only one or two levels that could take more than 30 minutes (and that’s Single Player). Also, the controls are exactly like LP 1 with a run button (and there quite a few control options).

In that vid it looked like he was shooting them out with a standard machine gun and it didn’t kill them when it threw them out, just ejection.

Anyway I broke the game in today and played multiplayer for about 3 hours. Besides Counter Grab being player and faction match only now (WHY THE FUCK ARE THERE ONLY 3 MODES IN RANKED!?), I couldn’t be more happy.

The weirdass mech that looks like a Segway but can turn into a motorcycle of sorts (reminds me of the one from LP1/Colonies that was the regular chicken-walker thing that could turn into the scooter) is fucking insane. I don’t think you can attach VS weapons to it (though I haven’t tried), but its fucking awesome hovering around the map using your weapons/grenades on this zippy thing. Its the closest to riding a horse you’ll ever get in a LP game.

Episode 3 is so fucking good. The final boss for the chapter is even more epic than I thought.

That level was also alot harder than I expected lol

I kind of guessed it would be tough since you get killed if you’re knocked off. However, I think we were just playing badly. That and it took us a little while to figure everything out.

Edit:

I honestly don’t know what the hell was going on with those reviewers. Gasa and I are at the final episode. Nothing has been cheap. The game has a nice level of challenge, but is nowhere near as tough as the reviewers made it out to be and it’s only Gasa and me. Haven’t had any problems with the controls either. The ally AI is surprisingly decent. Sure it does some dumbass things, yet on the whole it’s alright.

Games is awesome. Reviewers are on crack giving it a 5 or 6.

I’m lost on how to use customized weapons. So I unlocked a machine gun II, how does that work in the campaign? Do I only start finding machine gun II instead of the old one while I play now? Also, what’s the point of having the machine gun I anymore?
