You know what’s frustrating? Facing some 4600 PP 20000 BP Ken who mashes DPs out of every attempt at pressure and still somehow manages to beat you. Like, I mean, sure, points aren’t supposed to really mean much and he did have solid mixups and pressure of his own, but it’s REALLY frustrating getting tagged with DPs any time you try to apply pressure. You’d think he’d have a more solid defense with those sort of points.
High level players know mid level Maks are generally impatient about applying pressure so they spam DPs. It’s not that they don’t have good defense, it’s just that they already know your game plan. I’ve experienced the same thing you have, except it was a Ryu. I swear, it felt like I was playing Alex Valle using a different ID because he seemed to know exactly when I wanted to switch between baiting and pressuring. I didn’t get one bait and every attempt at pressure was met with an SRK. Fucking frustrating.
Well “mid level Mak” describes me to a T. I know I’ve gotten better, but I still have loads of room for improvement. If I could consistently get Hayate cancel stuff down I’d be doing a lot better but I can never get it to come out right for me.
Last time I checked your Makoto was in top twenty on the N. America leaderboards, that definitely puts you above a mid level Mak.
No offense to Jiggly’s Makoto, I really have no clue about him, but by itself being top 20 in BP in America for a character means nothing. Lots of top 20 BP players have sub-2,000 PP, sometimes worse.
My rage: FUCK YANG. If I get hit by another s.MK reset into bullshit again, I’m gonna stroke my beard in anger. That situation is seriously 9-1 Yang, he will tag you with something. Fuck his c.MK being better in every way than Makoto’s c.MP, fuck his multitude of options on wake-up, fuck him jumping at you and trying to s.LP his jump-in or cross-up, fuck trying to c.MK his dive kick because you thought it was gonna be a jump-in, fuck his frame traps into command throw/Rekka pressure into big guessing game. What’s with his command grab, man? What’s up with that? o_O

Your faith in me is appreciated, though Robot’s right. BP rankings don’t really mean all that much. I get whalloped by most of the Makotos you see posting here when we’ve ran mirrors.
I DO think I’m a bit above average but at the same time I feel like I could do a lot better than I do.
Also, yes. I have way more trouble vs Yang with Makoto than I do Yun.
I’ll tell you what sucks. being on a winning streak against lower skilled opponents knowing that you are playing as bad as you ever had. Such a fraud
i hate when i streak lower skilled opps cause that means im getting nothing outta this but practice. when i play ppl my level or higher i feel better bout myself (tho a tad salty bout losing) when i play cause they’ll do something i haven’t seen.
I’m just getting sick of online. Played offline for 2 and a half hours on Tuesday and then suddenly can’t even get wake up Oroshi online. Of course I get more salty lately ever since I watched a replay where I knocked down an opponent and done a delayed Ultra, GOT THE INPUTS RIGHT AND IN TIME and the Ultra just…didn’t come out…at all and I lost… I think I’m just gonna take online less seriously and maybe just not use Makoto as much online. Save 'er for offline beatings.

THIS i keep telling people for makoto Yang is worse than Yun. I dont’ know what it is exactly but this dude can get in and stay in FOR FREE all day and can stay just out of s.MP range and beating c.MP with his c.MP and wreck makoto’s shit. Serioulsy. And WTF is up with his DP? Is it invincible? Not invincible? Does it hit low or high? Does is go full screen or not? WAT DUH FUG. This matchup is stupid lol
i ended up thumping my stick (the arcade stick) in rage, as im used to playing Boxer and Rose i can anti-air pretty easily… but with makoto i cant do anything, i know she has anti-airs but im so used to c.HP I keep going for that button. ill catch on eventually.
Was impressed with my stick though, nice to know i cant punch it to death, probably wont do it again cus it did hurt.
Any reason at all that dictator deserves 5,000 invincible reversals?
It’s not like he has great lockdown and pressure or anything, or a get out of jail free teleport, he NEEDS those reversals!
My P2 execution of IA Tsurugi is that crappy that i end up crossing up the opponent 70% of the time after doing FA2 in the corner

I know I’ve only been playing Makoto for like, a month or so, but nowadays, I rage so hard when I lose to people who I think are horrible, I slam or punch my arcade stick lol
A few days ago, I was going on a decent win streak then I play some seriously shitty Ken that was just spamming SRKs…I seriously lost and also got perfected. I tried doing wake up mind games - nope! The Ken would just wake up DP. I’d bait out the DP, I wait for him to land to punish…then I get DP’ed again…wtf
HAHAHA havent’ played in like a week. been on batman 1/2, assassins creed, saints row 3, etc. came back to SSIV to mess around and was SCRUBILICIOUS lmao. I can’t believe how bored i was of this game. Need Moar 2012 to get the excitement back up. OH WELL back to Arkham for me…
