So Raging Demon attacks a person’s soul, hence why Bison and Gen survived?

And SFV takes a lot of liberties to make the story more interesting, but I didn’t think any of them was contrived… actually a lot of it was very good. But like I said, plenty of SF canon CAME from SFV, because it was so well written a lot of stuff from it was used. Stuff that never existed before. Every single other SF anime portrays characters as friends or superheroes fighting bad guys and being super powerful. This one portrays them as normal people who actually gasp CHANGE THEIR CLOTHES and have very different agendas and goals, crossing in and out of each others’ lives and sometimes fighting.
Plus is was the first ( heartbreaking) portrayal of Charlie Nash dying.
The hadoken and shoryuken approach was quite nice. All that they learned from Dhalsim was how to channel their chi… Ryu does it with the hadoken ( which in the beginning took him minutes of focus to release but by the final fight he can use it liberally like in the game which was a nice progression) and Ken does it through his awesome badass shoryuken.
The show also portrays Guile fighting a mind controlled Chun Li ( fighting at her best) and both being equal which is ALSO accurate in canon so I liked that.

He blocks it every time. If I remember correctly, the concept is something like Akuma drags you to hell where your soul is punished for whatever evil may lie in it. Those who can clear their mind/soul or are absolutely pure are not affected by it.
It would be funny if they made demons do varying damage depending on how “evil” a character was lol

Actually in the Udon comic Gouki WRECKED Seth and used Shun Goku Satsu on him. When he saw Seth still lived he called him a tin man with no soul and left. Seth was salty as FUCK
Guy is one of the (if not so) the fastest characters in the series. He dodged Akumas Raging Demon in the comics (not canon but still) and his muso renge is pretty darn fast.
Cody may be one of the strongest fighters there is. He wears his handcuffs as a handicao and does not even fight to his full extent thus if he was to remove then he may be par with fighters such as Akuma himself. Of course we would not know til he did.
Claw toys with his opponents and generally goes easy on those of beauty as to why he saved Cammy and lost to Chun Li. Also we do not know as to when his events that split his personalities occured. This could lead to times before the 20th century given the fact of his asserted youth but this is a fantasy. Still he chooses whether he wants his claw and can still beat plenty of opponents without it. Of course he also has a noble persona thus may be the reason he has never actually killed any opponents in the SF tournaments. But in general taste, most of these tournaments would have took place in day for his fights to which his noble attitude is said to arise whilst his sadistic is at night to which most of these cage matches will have taken place. To top it all off, he is a ninja and a bullfighter who takes on chaotic bulls and wins with ease. Zangief takes on bears but has no speed compared to Claw as does Sagat take on tigers and trees. Thus Claw’s use of weaponry may be due to the fact that he can uphold his ninja tradition whilst blending with his spanish as well as the fact that he likes to stab things that bleed. Thus we cannot forget that he kills in respect of his murdered beautiful mother to which he became an asshole. So if Chun Li was fat, there would be no doubt that Claw would have won.

We have to defend the asshole somehow. Anyhow I am always hearing how great these shotos or girls are and no one else gets enough notice and far underestimated. Like how Superman is overrestimated lol. Still, I might be getting too overboard with this so yeaahh… Freaky fanboy phase over…for now…
Dudley is beyond Akuma and Gill in Street Fighter 3. He can kill them by throwing a rose!

What you see in the canon isn’t always indicative of a character’s true strength. Writers will make fights closer than they ought to be in order to keep things interesting. Because of this, arguments based on “X beat Y, and Y beat Z, so X is strongest” aren’t really valid. A real fight would exist independently of plot armor and storyline considerations.
Guy and Cody for example, they may be able to defeat a powerful character one time for dramatic effect, but they come from a different game series where the power level is drastically lower. They’re just normal dudes who are good at martial arts. You can’t really put them on the same page as someone who can harness ki, or psycho power, or whatever the fuck.
Claw was strong a long time ago, but everyone has stepped up their game while he’s been in his room crying over Senses Fail mixtapes. He’s just a Regular Guy now.
Juri is being majorly slept on. Bitch be crazy. I’d say she’s about equal with Rose, or possibly higher.
Sakura has extremely high potential, but she’s still only mid tier until she receives some formal training. I look forward to Super Street Fighter AE 2025 where Sakura will be the main character, and Ryu will be the one trying to imitate her.
