Looking for Love: Ibuki General Discussion Thread

  1. I’m not talking about the risk of getting punished. I’m talking about blowing your whole super because you thought your opponent was backdashing. Wasting meter usually isn’t good. Especially when it’s Ibuki’s only means of reversal.

I play my friend’s Chun alot, and while I try to use U2 to punish his backdash, it became just too unreliable for me. From trying to anticipate and react to it, and then timing it so U2 hits at the end of his backdash and not the floaty, airborne part. I end up just picking U1 so I can FA his hashanshou and U1 punish.

Ah yes true. I don’t use meter that much and I rarely use Ex Kazegiri, so I don’t mind spending meter as of now. I am a Vega player, I am used to blocking lol. I actually don’t use hien to catch backdashes because it does have very high startup, its just a bonus when you use it and catch someone’s backdash or jump, like on someone’s wake up. When I use it I usually catch people’s OS tech or grab attempt.

As for U2 for backdashes, yea against chun or Vega it may not be as reliable, but for some others it can be, like Adon especially if you buffer U2 and then they backdash.

i tested this and it is definitely one of those unblockables… or “tap” blockables. nice find. very hard to block consistently, only prob is that its harder to do than cammys, but still not that hard either.

we maybe should look for unblockable setups against other characters as well?

does this mean that there’s no way for shoto’s to get out of our vortex??? one neck breaker and we win??? :}

^^^ no, cause the shotos can just dp which will get them reset and allows them to avoid the unblockable. Which is why I don’t think it’s THAT good. It will probably win some rounds till they figure it out though. In the end it’s just another in a long list of tools.

^ I wanna add that besides just a kunai reset, you can add in a lk.kazegiri or raida juggle if your reactions are fast enough. And then mixup from there.

^^^ can’t do those on a LIGHT KICK reset.

LMAO!
wait a minute…aqua’s got better pokes? iyo takes high risks for high rewards? LOL! you got it the other way around haha. brother i’ve played against both of them and let me tell you something, iyo’s footsies are so good that you simply cannot gimmick a win against him, he’s one of the people who’s fundamentally spot on at the game and the only way to fare well against him would be to raise your own fundies to the same level. i normally go back and forth with acqua, but when it comes to iyo i simply cannot win more than a couple of games in a 20 odd set. the dude is that good and everyone who plays him knows that.

i got know idea how you people come up with such on the fly loose statements to mask your opinions as facts.Just say that you like acqua better and that’d be fair enough, but putting it out as a statement with the kind of explanation you gave is plain wrong.

@laxlight
Just say you like the other guy better, that’d be fair enough right? As far as I know each is entitled to their own opinion. Facts or not, there will always be someone better so don’t go talking like you’re the shit around here that sees everything in the world the right way.

Anyway, not on anyone’s side here. Just thought this forum would be a lot better if everyone could at least show some respect to their fellow Ibuki players.

NIGGA SHUT YO MOUF.

read my shit again and see that i state NONE of that as fact. get off of iyos nuts pls and get your reading comprehension up to snuff before you accuse motherfuckers as trying to mask opinions off as facts, which i do not do. i stated the things that i stated as OPINIONS. everyone has one.

you are the only person on this forum that has come out as having stated AS A FACT that iyo is the best ibuki in the world.

when it comes to which ibuki i like better its acqua for the reasons that i stated. when it comes to which PLAYER i like better its iyo cause of the shit he did with his cvs2 team as well as being the first person to rep sim as hard as he did back in vanilla.

your reading comprehension “fundies” need work :wink:

and if you choose to respond with more inflammatory responses to my admittedly inflammatory flame post i will nt be bothered to respond. inflammatory shit only gets one response from me, then i just “ignore” a person if they continue trying to troll me.

done with this subject.

i was reading this at school and just started busting out laughing

looool dime never fails to entertain

oh ok my bad, i sort of stopped reading when you said iyo is a high risk high reward player.
its just that you were backing up your statement with wrong information which made me react the way i did. for eg: my favourite ibuki player is jonda hands down, but if i say that i like him more than acqua/iyo because of his better ground game etc then i’d clearly be presenting false information.

You guys should worry about getting better yourselves more so than bitching about who’s better between two top players of similar skill level. They’re both good so plz less QQ.

hey jin u wnna play sum online casuals? im pretty good ryt now but i cud def do wid the mirror exp.

Just send me a message over xbox live and ill try to set up a game for us.

Yun seems so dull and boring, this is after watching just one video. I mean like Rufus/Cammy plays the same but with more options to have fun or mix it up with.

Well Rufus is one dimensional as hell so there’s no way Rufus specifically can be more interesting to play than Yun. Rufus has nothing at all but dives.

It looks like the st.lp of cr.lp, cr.lp st.lp st.mk xx w/e, whiffs on a crouched Yun :confused:

you dont even have to do that anymore, crlp crlp stmk is cake.
