Does Ibuki have a kara throw?
MK -> Throw
Am I being totally retarded? cannot find a single in game shot of Ibuki’s new costume…?
I remember Kai a long time back talking about using b+MP to hit confirm things but i never really figured out a way to do it by itself. This sounds like a good way to set it up off of something.
Found out an easy way to never mess up SJC U2…
Thinking back to what I told someone else previously, you don’t have to end in up-right.
:lk::qcf::uf::mk::qcf::3k:
The idea is that as long as you do :qcf::uf: the next movement of the stick (thanks of SFIV’s input system) only has to be a simple fireball. You have forever to input :qcf::uf::mk:, so no more messing up! This should give you a 100% success rate.
Learning steps!
do :lk::qcf::uf::mk: <- this should do her target combo and end in a High Jump.
do the same as above, but include :qcf::3k:!
– If it’s not working, you’re pressing :mk: before :uf: (she’ll still jump, but you won’t get the U2!)
turn on display Input Data, and do :qcf::uf::mk: learn the motion for when you see :uf: and :mk: on the same line. Try it again!
Remember: this can be done very slowly, in fact, you’ll want to do it as slow as possible so that you don’t end up doing the U2 during a block-string!
I have been working to address this issue on fighting against crouched characters including the ones where TC4 doesn’t work on and I have been getting favorable results.
I kind of worked with ageman before but I haven’t actually tested it that much in a match. With ageman it is is really easy to get a hitconfirm into neckbreaker which does about 290 dmg ageman x st lp x st mk x neckbreaker. Ageman usually hits both times even when the opponent blocks and leaves you at zero which isn’t bad.
The hitboxes of certain characters may get changed in AE as well as some of Ibuki’s attacks so I’ll wait till AE comes out before anything.
Im dropping Ibuki for now. Her walk speed really fucking kills her. Anybody with a decent walk speed can bully her all day and I don’t care how good your footsies are. Her vortex is nonexistent and the people I win against are the ones that make the wrong choice or just simply don’t know the match up. She cant footsie, she can’t vortex, she can’t mix up and she can’t zone. The character is pure gimmicks. Who knows maybe I’ll come back to her some day but for now I will be playing Rufus, we had fun Ibuki:)
She is definitely rubbish against Rose and Cammy. Once people can block her Vortex, that’s the end of her as a character. I will use her for casuals, but whenever I’m at the arcades I’m sure I’ll just play with Ryu, Rufus, and possibly Yang if he truly is like 2nd Impact Yang.
Ibuki’s new alt. is quite nice, though they could have done a lot better with the colouring on some costumes.
Never mind I put too much fucking work in this character to drop her, im going to step my shit up even more and learn how to deal with her horrible footsies:)
I love the new alt. I just wish the pants didn’t change colors with the shirt…I like the black one personally.
love ibukis new alt. just dont like the stupid backpack. the colors are decent, this blows alt 1 out the water and actually gives the original a run for its money. favorite color for new alt is 5 an 6 i think. although they are all decent even the pink one.
alt 1 just needs to get burned and never let see the light of day again. EVER.

The only exception for Alt 1 is the lime green color. Simply because Ibuki has some stylin’ green kicks.
Was reading back and saw this. Unless it’s a more popular character getting tourney time most forums are dead, just how it goes. If you see a random unknown come and beast on popular players the forum will jump from 4 viewers to 200+ but it would be a brief thing unless they are consistent.
I just started using her, I like her keep away game, mix-up’s, combo potential and pokes (The one thing I hear people complain about here, I just use her LK dash kick…things, I’ve never known her move names since third strike lol). So I have nothing to contribute.
I will say I don’t like her “vortex” to much, and think heavy use of it will just limit Ibuki. Watching a few Japanese players I hardly see them go for it really, mostly just solid poking, crossing up and working on getting stun. I don’t know what that means really, but it just seems a bit gimmicky and once a person figures out the block pattern it’s an uphill battle.
Mainly just working on her SJC, U2 shenanigans right now and getting the target combos down to muscle memory, and just having some fun with her.
I don’t know, I just think people don’t explore her enough.
I made a post awhile back with some safe jumps in the Vortex thread, and have a lot more things that I’ve found but not posted since it got dismissed kinda easily last time. It’s the same thing with a lot of the better players in other characters too. They don’t really share anything since it just gets dismissed and overanalyzed in the end by what seems to be lesser players.
And, I also don’t think that people do enough mixups on knockdown. Be creative ha.
But yeah that’s my take on it.
I knew u would say that.
Oh and yeah new alt is so smexy. Except for the fact that most of the other colors outside of the original and the black tank top one are really monotone. I wanted to see more of a variety in color of the tank top and jeans.
You dont need popping forums for a character to do well. Most of the people that are going to do well in tourneys with Ibuki aren’t even going to post here much. You just gotta have that tournament experience and practice enough. Im sure there’s still things to learn about Ibuki that most of the top tournament going Ibukis have yet to figure out so it should be interesting. Plus when AE releases I think we’re going to see a lot of cool stuff out of the Japanese Ibukis.
So true.
Talking is free, and the frame stuff and the mechanics can’t be analyzed without testing.
At first, i used the TC lp, mp, c.hk, hk a lot, with a jump towards at the end. It worked for me, until i got shoryukened a couple of times and i read in this forum that this TC was bullshit…
Yesterday i was in training mode and found that RYU can’t shoryuken it unless with ex. A simple lp, mp, c.hk, hk, jump towards mk (only jump, not even super-jump cancel), and ryu can’t lp or hp shoryuken, both shoryukens get’s beaten as a counter-hit and the combo continues without scaling.
the same simple setup vs akuma… akuma can shoryuken with hp and ex, but not with mp or lp.
So i now use that if ryu has no ex bars, and because this shit is lame but is soo character specific that it works, ryu cry WTF as i beat his non-ex shoryuken out and half of his life is gone.
No other ibuki ever uses that combo, but i now know where and why to use it, and it works.
Later, when he has ex, i do a super-jump instead to go behind him… or use an ex-kunai on air to stop and then punish his shoryuken… or just use other TC and play different.
This kind of stuff should be somewhere in the forums to help us all, but it is not :(, or it is hard to find :(, or it was overanalyzed by lame players like me…
That combo will get reversal EVERY TIME by a decent player, but that doesn’t mean you won’t at least trade with them. If you time it right, you can trade with lk.
@Izuna, what do you mean?
-You mean that…
when i was in practice mode with ryu-ibuki, and i recorded ibuki to do the TC6, jump mk, and then i used ryu to counter that…
did i miss the shoryuken on reversal timming in every single test i did?, and…
is possible to reversal it?, and a decent player will do it every single time?
I might not be a decent player, but that scared me.
If that is true, if any decent ryu player will get reversal every time vs ibuki’s TC6 on hit, jump towards mk, and i couldn’t do it even once except with ex shoryuken… then i suck even more than i though.
In my tests, Ryu’s lp and hp shoryuken gets beaten, mp shoryuken trades, and ex shoryuken wins… but usually people use lp or hp shoryuken, they don’t mp shoryuken for a reason.
