Some helpful information for people who are more serious into this game:
Lifesteal does not have a cap, you can have over 100% lifesteal.
Attack Speed is capped at 2.5.
The summoner spell “cleanse” can cleanse the summoner spell “ghost” so if you’re going to use both, use cleanse first.
Rammus with speed buffs and the mobility boots is the fastest thing on the ground.
Amumu’s (mummy) ultimate is a root, not a stun, not sure if the tooltip has been updated.
Skills that cause your champ to blink such as Kassadin’s Rift Walk, Summoner spell Flash, Shaco’s Deceive can be used to teleporter through barriers that are out of your range normally.
Tier 1 runes is the best value. Don’t have the numbers, but I think you pay something like 10% of a Tier 3 rune and it’s only 20% weaker.
Some community opinions (I can list why if you want me to):
Currently, the most powerful champs are Shaco, Twisted Fate, Udyr, Poppy.
The worst champs are Amumu, Gargas, Gangplank, Mundo, Warwick.
Wit’s End and Guinsoo’s Rageblade are terrible items.
That’s good, it was kind of sad to see a jungling champ being out jungled and generally outplayed by other champs. I haven’t seen a warwick in these recent patches though.
They are the best value, but a Lv20 who spends his IP on Tier 3s is going to be stronger than a Lv30 with all Tier 1s who spends his IP on champs. The difference only gets wider as the Lv20 approaches 30…
Crit also has no cap, it is possible to give yourself 100% crit on your character.
I don’t think T-Fate is still top tier after this last patch, he got nerfed to hell. I usually play T-Fate as my main, but he’s a piece of shit now.
Why is Pirate Cap low tier?
Since you’re just starting out, you’ll most likely get matched up against other lvl 1-5 players, so just take in as much knowledge as possible while in the game. You can also do practice games with bots to warm yourself up a bit.
The easiest of this week’s free champions to play is Ashe, she’s a one-trick pony and vanilla DPS, but has troubles with survivability. Ryze is also pretty easy and focuses on burst and aoe damage, nearly impossible to suck with as long as you avoid dying (he has the same survivability issues).
Taric, Nunu, and Kayle are this week’s sturdier champions. Taric is probably the most beginner friendly of the three.
Try out a champion in a practice game (by yourself) and look up guides on Leaguecraft before taking it to matchmaking games.
Avoid dying.
You’ll be confused a lot at first, learning this game is like learning the entire cast of mahvel, what they’re capable of doing, and what kind of combos become possible when the right team of champs are used.
Don’t die, don’t be afraid to die, don’t get greedy, travel in groups.

Here are some terms.
B = back, means back off because you’re probably going get ganked.
care = careful
top = the top and left lane
mid = middle lane
bot = the bottom and right lane
mia = missing in action, means a champion is not in their lane and watch out for a possible gank
re = missing champ has returned
nm = never mind, champion didn’t leave their lane
jungling/creeping = the act of gaining experience by killing neutral enemies
Not sure about crit, I think I read somewhere it had a soft cap, but I could be confusing it with another game.
Not sure about Twisted since this patch, because I haven’t been able to play much since this last patch, but before he was so OP that he was banned from competetive play, and even after they nerfed him from that, he was still really good because of his gank anywhere and spell shield ignoring Gold card.
I think people are calling pirate low tier now because of how he was before. He use to be solid mid. I think the main complaint is now his parley does physical damage instead of magical, so if you’re wanting to make parley stronger, cannon barrage doesn’t get better. I don’t play pirate so I can’t give you the most accurate of answers.
Twisted Fate got nerfed to hell this last patch. His “Pick a Card” mana costs went up, they do less damage now and gold card no longer slows. His scatter cards also do less damage and his port has either a higher cooldown period or a greater mana cost, I don’t remember ATM. They basically stripped him down to almost nothing.
Pirate Caps is still GDLK imo. A mod on the forums confirmed that you can build yourself to 99.xx% crit and with the right items, I was Parleying for 1k+ damage. If you build yourself crit focus, you’ll beast on kids. That extra gold from parley kills combined with improved smite = Gold for DAYS.
LMAO, hey I play HoN and LoL but most of my friends play LoL and a few of my old co-workers jumped ship from my current job to Riot Games (makers of LoL). LoL isn’t as bad as people make it out to be, you just have to level yourself up so that you get matched up against skilled players. The first 15 or so games for a DotA/HoN vet are the worst, you get matched up with noobs because your record is 0-0 and it generally turns away anyone with previous experience in these types of games.
my LoL username is Genotox. I don’t play that much, just try to get at least 1-2 games in a day. Currently, I play Karthus, Kassadin, Shaco, and slowly picking up Ryze. Speccing out another rune page for a melee dps.

I’ve been playing Shen tons since they released him, loving him a bunch. Been building him tank right now while working on a tank rune set. I usually stick with Shen when I solo queue. If i’m playing with friends or have a team I’ll roll soraka and just heal the world.
Lol went 10-0 on TT with soraka. Carry soraka ftw.
TF has his role changed drastically now. He used to be a early-mid ganking type hero. Now hes more of a late-game carry by going DPS. You can kill everyone pretty damn fast and you can also backdoor turrets/inhibs with ease. Ive started winning a good % of my games again by not going AP at all. Not even hybrid.
Nobody is complaining about Kennen because at least hes not a tank. I hear hes fun to play, but underwhelming.
I dont know where people got the idea Gang is low tier. He’s definetly mid tier at worst.
Janna getting a slight buff next patch. Most people saying that she still sucks.
