Green acers mall arcade. Valley Stream, NY
www.Tokyogameaction.com in Woonsocket, RI.
This is an all new Japanese Arcade in New England, and probably the only one on the East Coast. It’s a real authentic Japanese arcade with real japanese cabs and boards. The sticks and buttons are Sanwa and totally BRAND NEW!

FYE in the Cape Cod Mall, featuring: MvC2 and Soul Calibur 2. That’s it. No competition. There’s also a card-game shop on Rt. 28 in Centerville with MvC2 on PS2, where I’m hoping to start a scene and maybe a tournament - though there are only four people I know of who can hold their own in serious play. I’m also the only person on Cape Cod who uses top tier teams (that I know of), also the only person who knows what ROM even is, let alone able to do it… Expect a lot of wolverine/spidey/akuma players.
So, please, anyone, if you’re vacationing or whatever come play - I need competition!
EDIT: Two DDR setups too, with some fairly hardcore stompers. I hate the game, but at least it keeps people coming.
BEST ARCADE in the NORTHEAST, so far.
Store hours and directions are up at the top. Sign up! Get to know everybody, especially if you’re looking for comp.
Just read my signature for what we have. Or PM me with any questions.

P.S. Fighting Game Forum under construction.
Jacksonville, NC has an arcade/skating rink that has Tekken 5, DDR Extreme and Initial D. Its on Western Blvd next to the bowling ally. If anyone from NC reading this could you post and tell me where else in NC I can play at while I"m stuck here.

Fabulous Family Fun Center in Hickory, NC.
All they got (that people seem to care about) is Tekken 5.1, Soul Calibur 2, Initial D v.3 (?), Dance Dance Revolution: Extreme, Pump It Up: Exceed 2, Guitar Freaks 4th Mix, Percussion Master (no…not Drum Mania), and some Sega gun game called G.H.O.S.T. The manager said that they’re also supposed to be getting Mario Kart GP.
I’ve talked to the guy a few times about 2-D fighters. He says that if I could find enough support then he might get some. Because, apparently, if he sends an arcade cabinet to Namco…then they send him another game, of his choice.
The actually drum sim that connects with guitar freaks is called “drum mania”, not drum freaks. prescussion master is either the korean version or the american (i can’t remember)
the sega gun game is called G.H.O.S.T. Squad, and can support the sega memory card system. so kinda like the ID series (building up ur character, saving scores, etc etc) which gives the game a new aspect.
i have mario kart GP at my arcade. it’s fun, but unless that arcade has a lot of customers come in who are couples / kids, i wouldn’t advise it (it’s really kiddy style… the arcade would probably be better getting maximum tune 2, which is also designed by namco)
the mario kart GP is a co-project b/w nintendo, sega, and namco
Where?
Ontario - Toronto (Scarborough region):
What?
Techtown
Where exactly??
Scarborough Town Center, Upper Level. Go to the Famous Players movie theatre, and in there (you don’t have to pay to go in) is the Techtown arcade!
Tell me about it.
Not really such a great place. Has a Soul Calibur machine with a faulty player 2 stick. Also has a Marvel vs Capcom machine with apparently both sticks messed up and several faulty buttons. That’s my closest arcade… :arazz: Interestinly, the place has a House of The Dead and Time Crisis 3 machine, as well as an air hockey table which might be a lil fun at the expense of a dollar’s worth.
Credit type?
Tokens, unfortunately. But it’s pretty much worth it - $1 = 4 tokens. Most games there cost about 4 tokens, though. Only very few cost 2. =/
There used to be a great arcade down here in Toronto at Woodbine Center Mall (in Etobicoke). It was downstairs, right beside the movie theatre, but unfortunately, it seems to be closed/outta business now (or at least I think).
Btw, does anyone know of ANY place in Toronto that has a Killer Instinct machine? I can’t find one anywhere. :wasted:
PRYDE: these following locations in Toronto have closed down…
Video Amusement/Video Funland
2645 Eglinton Ave. E
Scarborough, Ontario
M1K 2S2 Canada
(416) 266 5037
Wizard’s Enchanted Castle
Yorkdale Shopping Centre
3401 Dufferin Street, Box 188
North York, Ontario
Wizard’s Castle
Bramalea City Centre
25 Peel Centre Drive, Box 472
Brampton, Ontario
Games Maximus
Scarborough Town Centre
300 Borough Drive,
Scarborough, Ontario
wtf yorkdales arcade closed?
wow, you would think they would make a better one than closing seeing how yorkdale just recently added a new wing
maybe wizards pulling out of canada? (or out of business?)
there used to be on in markville mall. WAY back.
Toronto
Seems the only arcade left in Toronto is Funland at Yonge/Dundas. All other remaining arcades (Video Amusement/Funland, Games Maximus, Gameland?? (Yonge/Bloor)) have all closed down over the last year or so. If you live in the city and prefer happ sticks to the Japanese cabs at orbit, Funland is still a decent place to reach for some competition.
Games Include:
Tekken TAG
Tekken 4
Tekken 5
Virtua Fighter 4
MvC
MvC2
SFvX
3rd Strike (2 cabs)
2nd Impact
Soul Calibur
Soul Calibur 2
GGXX
CvS
(Various Dance/Rhythm Games)
Although I have yet to see this arcade play host to a tourny, competition in T5, 3S and SC2 is pretty stiff (especially on evenings and weekends).
Time Out in Whitehall, PA (Lehigh Valley Mall)
There’s a arcade in Pennsylvania that you don’t have listed. It’s a Time Out and located in the Lehigh Valley Mall in Allentown/Whitehall. (City changes depending on who you ask. Officially, it’s Whitehall.) Their phone number is 610-264-8802.
Off the top of my head they have Tekken 5.1, Tekken 4, and Soul Calibur II. They also have Initial D, DDR (Double Pad) (not sure which version), and a DDR-clone (Double Pad). For the light gun fans they also have Ghost Sqaud! I love that game. I believe they have Time Crisis II (or III) as well, but I’m not entirely sure. I think that that’s everything that’s *good *though.
Arcades Near Washington D.C?
Are there any arcades near Washington DC. I emailed Koop via gmail but his last post was in 2002. For all I know, these arcades have been long since turned into ice cream shops as they have done in Berkeley, CA.
sup man!!
I replied to your email…but one question. what are you looking to play or get good in. cause again “gatherings” are the way to go if your looking to play the areas BEST. definitely check out the tournaments and events for upcoming tournaments and the MD/VA thread to learn about upcoming gatherings…
MD
Time Out, City Place Mall in SIlver Spring
X3O Gaming Center in Rockville, MD. I offer a $4/hour rate or $15 day pass for fighting games. Also, if you buy a day pass and have a streak of 20 wins in a row in your particular game, I will give you $5 back at the end of your session.
Wait, wait. Are you now living in DC after being in Berkeley? Cause… that’s exactly what I did. Just graduated from Cal last spring. People play in the DC area, just not on arcade; it’s a console area. Give me a pm or im at UltraDavid sometime, we’ll play.
