Its mostly a place for jitz but there is a decent fighting game following there who are anxious for that 3S machine. I’m one of them cause I’m really bored playing people who can’t fight unless their SNK Groove meter is filled on CvS1… Joking, guys, joking.
Convergence–a little late to reply to your post there but me and three people I know generally play CvS2 at Eastgate often on Saturdays. Not sure if you’re still in town or if you’re done with school or whatever, but that’s usually when you’ll find competition at EG.
Does anyone know where there is some CVS2 comp in Bath/Brunswick/Portland/ or in boston. Hook me up please. New to this area (NAVY) originally from TX… THANKS>.
JOE
Sorry man but the thing that got going on here is MvC2 and DDR. MvC2 comp is minimal. I play at the Maine Mall in Portland. Old Orchard Beach is open now but I don’t think they’ll have CvS2. WELCOME TO MAINE !
i play at the maine mall as well… I’m a tall ass lanky white kid and I usually show up with this kid john who’s asian. Maybe you’ve seen me before I show up randomnly and mvc2 isn’t my favorite game but I’ll play if other people do just send me a pm sometime
there’s an mvc2 machine in one of the arcades in rye new york’s playland. the damage is set waaayyy to high though. one photon cannon from IM and the person is 2 hits from dead.
Some arcades in/near Rochester, NY with fighting games:
FYE
in EastView Mall
Victor, NY (edit: scratch that…they took the arcade out of FYE)
Time-Out
in Greece-Ridge Center Mall (quite small, no 2d fighters, unfortunately)
Adventure Landing
Greece, NY
Anyone add to the list?
My cousin lives in Albany, NY, and I remember we went to a pretty cool arcade there called “WOW!”. Well, it was cool about 8 years ago, when I was last there…it cost $3 to get in, and the games were 5 cents, 10 cents, or free. Last I was there, they had some old fighting games, including WW. I can’t promise that now, though…I should check it out again and see what they have (although I kinda doubt any MvC2, CvS2, 3S…).
The Carousel mall in syracuse with the cyberstation blew. Like most cyberstations all they have is soul calibur 2 and tekken games. They had one mvc2 cab and the hardware wasn’t functioning properly not to mention the screen was cut off and you couldn’t see the super bars. I don’t even play marvel but the fact that they machine isn’t even functioning properly is retarded
ok, didn’t see anything for all of NC, so here we go:
AMF Bowling
Durham, NC
4508 Chapel Hill Boulevard
or, the service road next to oak creek plaza. their directions make no sense.
THEY HAVE:
ONE (1) SVC CHAOS MACHINE
and nobody playing it, except for these two guys i saw once. SVC Chaos is atomiswave, right? so that means they could be running guilty gear on it, right? i need to call raleigh amusements and give them hell for it.
but they do have strikers 1945 plus (2nd player joystick is iffy) which is a reason to come all by itself.
There is a MvC2 and 3S machine at Springfield Mall, VA 22150. It is located in the bottom Time Out. I use to play there a lot but not recently because of my suspended license. Either way just PM me or head up there around 5 pm Saturdays to play some decent comp.
damn, i’m about 3 months too late. well anyways. On long island we have jillians at The Source Mall. They have cvs2, T4, VF4, and that utracade thing with SF2:ww, CE, and HF. Across the street is another arcade with Mvc2. It used to have GGXX, Isuka, 3s, cvs1, and sfex2 but they took them out.
Well, it’s been dead for years now, but now there is no more Virtual Fun at the Towson Towne Center in Maryland (pun intended). Too bad…A lot of good memories of that place, back when the other people running it and people coming there actually gave a shit about it. Maybe if the moron running it now knew how to run an arcade (as in, keep the sticks working and have something other than MvC 2 and Tekken games), it would still be around.
Damn near everything listed here, 2 CvS2’s, 2 3rd Strike Cabinets, GGXX, SSFIIT, One of the Alphas, I think, MKII (Like anyone cares) Soul Cali 2 should be functional by the time anyone reads this, Sam Sho V, SvC Chaos, VF4 Evo, VF3, KOF 2003.
And I may be there after Christmas to debut my Faust skills.
I’m currently in NY, and I want to know when is a good time to go to Chinatown Fair for some CVS2 or 3S comp? Or even the arcade inside Port Authority (Bowling Alley,) I went there once and no one was there, and is the game really 3 quarters to play?
Anyways people, please post…I’m only in town for the weekend-ish, and I want to play some good NY comp…thanks
