Lip licking videos. The Juri Video Thread(Match up, Combo vids, tutorials and more!)

Gotta respect Sabin for repping dat Sim in such an offensive game.

Sabin played really well. CD jr wasn’t at his best. I’ve watched a few of his replays and I know he’s much better than that usually. But we all have bad days.

The match wasn’t really laggy but we were all dropping so much stuff it was ridiculous. I’m fairly certain it was the input drop bug people are talking about.[/details]

I dont think I saw this one here

How to counter air tatsus (Ken/Ryu) and some dive kicks (Rufus, Cammy, Lili):

Alternative punishment options when you can’t rely on cr.hp.

Good stuff! For Lili, she can buffers a late ex dive kick it os’ into ex divine step. Like not kidding she can be almost near the ground and still do it.

Isn’t it still a guess on which anti-air to pick. What if they just normal jump-in or early dive kick. That’s great if you can predict their every option, but honestly I don’t want to play a 50-50 guessing game whenever it involves me getting combo’d to death.

Well making good reads is what fighting games are all about.

That being said dashing under and air-to-air are the safest counter options since you’ll be safe no matter what they decide to do. So that’s what I usually opt for.

About Lili, I noticed her dive kicks are different. I tested using her HK version because I thought they were all the same. But LK and MK versions don’t hit twice and seem safer on block. And at the right distance she can time her LK dive kick to beat Juri’s cr.mp. That kinda sucks. But good news is she is at -7 on block so you can at least punish it unlike Cammy who is +100 on block or whatever.

Yeah they come out at different speeds. F cammy >=\

Making good reads is part of fighting games. Minimizing risk and playing the percentages, I’d say, is a bigger part. Air-to-air in this game really isn’t safe either, the opponent doesn’t have to do a deep jump in. Especially considering the hitstun on jump ins and how much damage can be netted from an air counter hit. I would also think dashing can be easily tagged by an early divekick.

“Air to air isn’t really safe because they can attack early in the air and beat your jump attack. Dashing under isn’t really safe because they can predict you will dash under and do an instant dive kick. Alpha counter isn’t really safe either because the opponent can empty jump / not press buttons then I’ll whiff a launcher and eat a combo. That’s why I’m pretty sure blocking and mashing reversals is better although I must admit I have never actually tried to dash under, use alpha counters and air to air tag cancel before so maybe I’m wrong. But then again I don’t think so.”

lol this guy.

Shotos j.Tatsu a lot further than in SF4, so if they’re jumping from afar, they’re probably going to tatsu, whereas if they jump where everyone else jumps, it’ll be a regular jump -_-;

Eish you blew me up a couple of weeks ago. </3 not cool man. not cool.

No, they can still choose to empty jump at that position to not get hit by a ground anti-air and move forward. A good example is Valle, who often likes to empty jump from this position where he can’t get anti-aired and can punish if there was an attempt.

Did I? I’m usually terrible with Juri mirror matches… I can’t stand mirrors >.<

Edit: …Did you play Juri? lol I just read your sig~

Punish what? =\ My current answer for air-tatsu entry is to just crouch… Though I’m probably going to start using c.MK to trip guard to punish into something decent, I’ve been eating tatsu since release since I’ve been trying to position myself to c.Fierce it =P – not worth it for how many times I’ve failed -_-; The reason why I say shotos use this distance, is because it’s the most ambiguous, and all those options in Vulcan’s video should be done on reaction, not on guess; meaning if they’re that far out, don’t do a damn thing unless you react to a j.Tatsu.

Those “punishes” weren’t done on reaction. All those actions were done right when the tatsu just came out. No one can react to that, it’s pure guessing. But hey, if it works for you fine. But almost every shoto online goes for tatsu at that distance. No one pays heed to empty jump…

And I was referring to when Juri tries to anti-air a predicted jump in but the opponent is too far and decides to empty jump, thus baiting a whiffed anti-air. Similar to how whiffed dps are baited out with empty jump.

But the cr.:mk: stuff works vs Bison who either headstomps or devils reverse.

It’s been a bit since I’ve seen the video, but I do remember a c.MK option which is what I was (and personally think is the best answer) referring to. And you can react to a peak-jump arch j.Tatsu from a far distance -_-; If you practice looking for it like I failed with trying to find the right timing for c.Fierce, you can do it too =\

cr.mk can be done on reaction to air tatsus. Not always but it’s possible.

Dashing under can also be done on reaction but you won’t be able to punish in time if you dash late.

Educated read vs lucky guess.

It’s what separates the good players from the bad/inexperienced players. Sometimes you don’t need to guess, you just know.

I’ve been having a lot of success so far with cr.mk, dash under and air to air tag so I’m gonna keep doing what works. I suggest you at least try things before saying they aren’t worth the “risk”.

Team Korea on stream, starts around 4-5 mins~

No no lol. I played Lili and Ken. I think all Juri players hate the mirror match. It’s just random as hell. Juri rapes herself (which is kinda hot). First juri to fall on her ass usually dies.

@vulcan. Can we play sometime. I wanna try to up my game by playing zee best players on xboxlive. I know you live in canada and such but i wanna play some solid juris and solid yoshis. You’ll get a chance to play the Lili match up as well.

If anyone’s interested in how Team Korea is doing, here’s an hour’s worth of win streak:

Thanks for the link dude. I’m going to watch that for sure.

I didn’t notice this…

Late reply but err… I’m not even sure I know your GT. You know mine so just add me and send invite whenever you feel like playing a set or something.
