Might catch some grief for posting one of max’s vids, but in I think maybe the third match in, there’s a juri player named zeronineteen who is pretty damn sick. It looks like he seriously has a command of most of her abilities and he absolutely crushes max.
Just because you haven’t gotten punished for doesn’t mean it’s safe. It means Its month 1 and we still haven’t figured out how good the rest of the cast is and how ass the “top tier” is.
I bet if I go in training room I’ll find some not so safe things about mk pinwheel.
“safe” would definitely be character specific based on the frame data. It’s literally listed as -7 in the book, so it’ll only be safe if your opponent doesn’t have a move that has a hitbox that comes out within 6(?) frames that will hit Juri.

Old video of mine, but skip to 4:00 to see the Juri “goodness”. The last combo is the most damaging combo I’ve gotten with her alone, and I think it’s relative to every character. Can’t even tell if that made sense.
I have other videos of her, but they’re mostly combos with Xiaoyu, so I don’t know if that counts.

any advice is always appreciated. I want to make this team work but I can’t help but think they don’t compliment each other. Solid alone and I feel comfortable with both but I’m not getting the flow I want – maybe over thinking it. So if anyone is running this team PLEASE let me know! I would love to play some matches.
1:05 in that first video; How to blow up projectiles 101. That was really cool, your use of fuhajin stores is really good, you are always stocked to put that extra damage in, and always on point reacting to counterzoning.
With the senpusha cancelling though im having trouble fitting it in because of juris forward dash, off of a cMK i like to hold it for a split second then dash back to bait a jump attempt and punish with cHP, but everything else seems like cancelling out forwards into more pressure you are at a bad range/recovery and mashing jabs is way too effective to ignore when trying to pressure someone.

Round 2 = full of fails on my part. I kept missing my resets, dropping my tag cancels. Also had 2 opportunities to land Juri’s Super but didn’t go for it for some stupid reason. I was sitting on all that meter but didn’t do anything with it. I just hate myself lol. And round 3 was just me getting blown up. I got downloaded pretty bad.
Couple videos of my terrible Juri and Asuka. I know I missed a good number of AA opportunities and my Asuka is pretty much ass overall (working on that)… but aside from that I’m not really sure where I’m going wrong. Hopefully an outside opinion or two will help
From what i can see you need to scout the AA, push them away with a store or crMP MK and then watch for a jump, your opponents seem to want to get in the air at every opening so take advantage of it. Other than that you have some good rushdown and good traps, you just need to work on tagging out in combos to gain health back, and also to tack a bit more damage on and a whole new set of mixups, you can also get loads of damage off corner combos if with jump cancel off pinwheels.
I’m going to list things in points on what you can improve, so I’m sorry if it comes off cold or anything like that. In fact, I’ll put a bunch of smiles to make it seem happy. No point in telling you what you’re good!
Video 1:
Random LKing Pinwheel is not safe
You’d work you way in on Hwoarang and then forward throw him across the screen. At one point you could have back thrown him towards the corner, and you threw him across the screen. Rather than taking a moment to store a FB or two, you have to dash him down.
You confirmed a combo into PW in the corner and went for a LK Pinwheel. You completely missed an opportunity to tack on a ton of damage using a MK or HK Pinwheel by following up with a cr. HP > jump cancel series.
In round 2, you had a a life lead on Hwoarang and he was playing run away a little bit. Why bother chasing after him? Let him run, store meter, store fireballs, whatever. You have no reason to chase him down and get clipped by a Hunting Hawk.
Video 2: vs. Wurke
Well, I saw the PSN ID and knew what you were getting into. Be glad he didn’t use Kazuya. He also let you get away with murder on those Pinwheels. If I dropped a combo into pinwheel, he punished me hard. Which brings me to my first point.
You are hit confirming and doing a pinwheel anyway on block. If you are going to do it, only do LK Pinwheel, and even then, you really shouldn’t do it.
Too much jumping cross ups, especially against Asuka, who can destroy you with her EX air grab. (that’s three smilies)
But yeah, Wurke’s a good player and he knows how to deal with Juri.
General:
You almost never anti air, which is bad when your Juri. That’s one of her strongest tools. With Asuka you don’t either. EX Air grab is an amazing AA, does good damage and sets you up to sweep for a hard knockdown or leaves you at a perfect spot for a meaty overhead. Hit confirm and be less random with those LK Pinwheels. It isn’t safe and you spam it almost. Doing it as an occasional poke during footsies (much like I’ll do with Hwoarang’s LK Hunting Hawk) is okay. But, to do it that much isn’t. You almost LK pinwheel the way newer Juri’s would Dive Kick in AE. (number 4!)

This is more because I was focusing on trying to open him up… something I’m not entirely sure how to accomplish with Juri. But yea, I do tend to throw a bit much and at bad times… carry-over habit from sf4

Throwing him wasn’t a bad thing. It was throwing him away from you. You should have done a back throw. Especially because it would have moved im to the corner
