Lip licking videos. The Juri Video Thread(Match up, Combo vids, tutorials and more!)

After some shenanigans with friends, I had a first-to-3 against one of them. The FT3 starts at 0:49:25.
Please critique as much as you want. Any advice is appreciated

The last combo is swagtastic. Uses the idea of holding a fuhajin while tagged out, and kazuya’s restand properties of his qcb HK (which i’m assuming it’ll be patched out) so I WILL ENJOY THIS SWAG WHILE I CAN.

It seems like Mago has started playing Juri (and Rufus) and SFxTekkenHDREPLAYS has uploaded a bunch of his matches.

Nice heads up. Mago’s Juri doesn’t do as much as his Rufus, but he’s definitely showing his confidence in how he goes into cross rush - he’s got such incredible footsies I guess I’m not going to complain. Jump back roundhouse as a preemptive anti air is a good idea for deep jump ins, I’ll try to implement that. Other than that, solid zoning play in some matches, and when the going goes tough, he got in Rufus whom I think is a top 5 character for sure, and Mago shows it well.

Guess i will be following Mago on XBL now. Following Neo too. Wish there was a couple good Hwoarang’s to follow on the PS3 or 360

Kail, I saw your video on c.HP Loop on Hugo with Fireball charges… I wish you would use some of this creativity on all characters and not just character-specifics =(

Choo, choo, all aboard the Juri express.

Some matches

I put that up as it was a mistake I found. The c.hp to j.hp was just me going ā€œthis should work on him… Works on sagat and ogre…but can I combo after since Hugo is so bigā€.

I was shocked that it worked. I still got stuff to show. Eish glad to see you here. Hope to hear from you when it comes to my next videos.

Grand finals of our first local major SFxT tournament. I didn’t play as well as I normally do because this was my first time in grand finals ever and I was hella nervous. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated (even if it’s telling me how much I suck :P).

Why do you keep doing M/H Pinwheel even though the opponent is clearly blocking? A lot of times you didn’t even have meter to make it safe but you still went for a M or H Pinwheel regardless and it often resulted in you taking a lot of damage.

You rarely hit confirm. You play very unsafe in general when you’re pressuring. And you kept falling for Gief’s not so ambiguous cross-up, you should’ve blocked all those cross ups but you almost never did.

Also, I’m not sure why you sometimes tried to use cr.mp for AA when cr.hp is more reliable and can lead to a lot more damage. To my knowledge, cr.hp works on all of Gief’s jump in attacks so there’s really no reason not to use it. Against Rufus maybe cr.mp is better I’m not sure but I saw you use cr.mp way too much for AA and juggles and I’m not sure I understand why (I get that sometimes you were out of c.hp range though). To me it looks like you’re still playing Juri SSF4 style.

Were those random pinwheels IA DK attempts?

MK Pinwheel is safe depending on spacing so I use it as a combo/blockstring ender and whenever it was a HK pinwheel it was either my mistake or was supposed to be an IA DK. The person I was playing has very good footsies and spacing knowledge and would usually only jump in when he was out of cr.HP range thats why I started using cr.MP.
Unless I am misssing something, the Gief vs Juri match-up plays just like SSF4 because the guy has such an amazing anti-air option with lariat being better now and his normals are way too good once he gets in. He can basically fish for an opening all day like Rolento using st.LK ~ st.MP. As for Rufus I’m still trying to find a good option vs his dive kick

wait, when is mk safe?!

I just watched a few matches again, I see what you mean Hellfire. The M Pinwheel looks like it is somewhat safe when you hit Gief with max range cr.mk. A lot of times Gief tried to punish you but his limbs were too short it seems. However, 12:19 says otherwise. You lost 80% of your life because of your belief that Juri is safe after Pinwheel. I don’t think it’s a smart thing to do ever. The risk is too big just for miserable chip. And unless you follow it up with a gutsy Super to catch their punish attempt you are accomplishing absolutely nothing.

And when I said ā€œit looks like you’re still playing Juri SF4 styleā€ I didn’t mean the Gief matchup. I meant you weren’t using a lot of her new tricks and you missed a ton of opportunities to juggle after you landed a dive kick or M/H AA fuhajin. Sometimes you went with cr.mp but you never canceled into pinwheel and sometimes you just didn’t do anything at all. A lot of times after a dive kick or AA fuhajin hit you could’ve done far strong xx store tag cancel or crouching forward xx L Pinwheel/Super. Stuff like that.

I’m fairly certain that MK pinwheel at max range is safe outside of supers cause I have yet to actually get punished for it otherwise. At 12:19 I probably attempted to jump (have a really bad habit of jumping a lot) and thats why I got hit. If you notice every time I attempted the same thing afterwards I was able to backdash any punish. I’ll go to the lab to make sure however.

Yeah, I noticed that I wasn’t taking full advantage of a divekick that connected after watching the finals myself. I usually go for a cr.roundhouse now for the hard knockdown, but if far s.strong into pinwheel is a better option then i’ll just do that instead. Thanks for the info it really helps

This guy made me realize how scary Hwoarang is teamed with Juri:

And this is the guy I was talking about in the other thread. He has a scary Steve:

You can even see me panic and don’t know what to do every time Steve gets tagged in. I was kinda lucky in the first round. I feel he could’ve killed me with a different combo in the end.[/details]

It isn’t…

I think it’s character specific.

Just like st.lk, st.lk, st.lk, st.mk, cr.hk. Most characters are pushed back too far away to punish Juri even though she is at -10 or something like that. But Law can punish Juri with a full combo and some characters like Ryu can use Super.

In Zangief’s case, it’s possible that his limbs are too small to reach Juri after he blocks an M Pinwheel at a certain range. Just like Kuma would probably be unable to do anything after blocking a Pinwheel because of his short pokes. We should probably do more testings about it to know for sure. I’ll test some things myself to see just how safe Juri really is or isn’t.
