PLEASE POST RELATED VIDEOS. Funny videos are okay now and there but don’t go off and troll. This thread is intended to teach and help vets and new juri players learn and share tech. This page will be used for match replays or recordings of matches, asking for critique, visual questions about a particular match up, combo vids, tutorials, and show off a specific team.

Being able to jump cancelling Juri’s cr.hp is a really cool change.

I picked up the game today, i rinsed a few characters in the time that i could, Juri, Lili, Raven, Ogre and Abel and ive kinda settled on Juri and Raven for now. Juri is better in this game no doubt…but still kinda lacks the standard defence game and has unjustified low health (Capcom game design give the females low health yeahhhh).

Anyway this is the highest damaging combo i could come up with today (711 damage):

How’s Raven btw? I vaguely remember his gamesradar walkthrough and he kinda looked like a Dhalsim on steroids. His ninja stars combined with teleports seem to have a lot of potential for dirty setups.

I still have no idea who to pick for a partner. I’ll give Yoshimitsu a shot and see what I can do with him.

Here’s a look at what I’ve got going with my Juri/Asuka squad. It’s a bit repetitious but I wanted to show the damage potential off alot of different situations and confirms.

That is not a real blockstring but I found it hilarious lol. I start with 2.4 meter and do 4 tag cancels + a lot of chip damage. That would be a hilarious way to win a round. :stuck_out_tongue:

According to my calculations, I do 15+12+10+12+7+7+25+15+10+12+7+7+25+12+7+7 for a total of approximately 190 chip damage. :slight_smile: WIN.

Alright, I’ve been messing around with your Juri combos and I have a few questions/notes.

First off, on the link you’re using to hitconfirm, is there a reason you’re using jumping short instead of forward or fierce to cross up? If I remember right, in SFIV a lot of her links would miss if you didn’t use short to cross up, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now. Also, while I haven’t looked at the frame data, s.LP, c.MK feels like a tighter link than s.LP, c. MP. The c. MP does just as much damage, and I haven’t had it whiff at any range in practice, so I’m wondering if that would be the better option to hitconfirm.

On the counterhit Fuhajin dash-in, I was getting it to connect consistently without the counterhit from the right distances. Seems like Fuhajin release, dash in c.MK just plain works.

Lastly, on your high damage corner BnB and similar combos, I don’t think there’s any point in doing the c.HP, j.HP into the corner if you’re planning on using meter. If you’re going to end the combo with a super anyway, just doing an HK Senpusha, c.MK (or would c.HP work here too? I didn’t try it) into the super does, I believe, slightly more damage due to the lack of scaling, and it’s easier to land, too.

Short version.
1)If memory serves there is no difference between a link to cMP or cMK, so use whichever you prefer. I do think the MK has more range though.
2)jump in short is a very ambiguous crossup alot of times, it also doesn’t have much hitstun so thats a situation where you might want to do a full hitconfirm string. I really like crossing up with short in this game.
3)Fuhain release Dash MK works without counterhit, that is amazing.
4)Even if it does slightly more damage do just go right into super, it builds significantly less meter. Also, I have lots of setups that stem from that cHP>jHP combo ender.

Is the extra meter worth giving up the corner? Also, yeah, I think c.HP, j.HP is still worth it if you’re ending with anything besides the super, but I’ll have to play around with it more to see if I prefer getting the extra meter or the easier combo/keeping them in the corner.

Err, wait…does the super dump them in front of or behind Juri relative to where she activates it? I’m drawing a blank for some reason.
