massive use of mantis sHK and cMP (xx hands) for poking… both of 'em sped up in the AE
so sad to say but, goodbye sMK>hands poke, it was good to know you ;_;

Nissy didn’t block and just kept pressing buttons despite getting hit by the same shit over and over. Ikego guessed right almost every time and also just kept pressing buttons. Calling this a top Gen on the front page is pretty insulting.
I thought so but I wasn’t sure if that’s what you meant. I didn’t want to get into a conversation if we weren’t on the same page.
so yes I’ve tried it a few times. But I don’t like doing it online. timing is too tight IMO. Sometimes I do Mantis c.LP, Crane c.LP, Roll.
BTW glad you are back Genshir0. Did you buy a new account? I see your old name? You just taking the points from the old account or something? Probably would have been easier to just spend 800MP on a name change, or was your account hacked?
I would have to agree. IMO 14 BP isn’t very much since it’s easy to gain them in the Arcade version. I myself, wouldn’t go as far as saying that it’s insulting, but he’s defiantly not a top gen. But I’m just judging that from the one video.
MP into hands is great though in AE. I like it more than MK, since its easier and seems less risky, imo.
well yes.
same startup, basically same range, better damage, better hitbox, more active frames.
still i’m not used to do it and i often get EX hands out of it… always been used to do smk>hands but i’ll have to change this
maybe I missed it, but some sites are posting frame data already. Like for Yun’s dive kick, and what the Frame +/- is when blocked. Has anyone seen any AE frame data for Gen? I wonder if Mantis c.MP is a quick as s.MP. In Super - s.MP - 4 start-up - 17 frames total and c.MP - 7start-up - 22 frames total. Sometimes I’m hesitant on using it, just incase someone tries to jump-in. Switching stances then going into crane c.HK can be too slow sometimes. And HK Gekiro is too slow as well sometimes.
It would be nice if it recovered faster so you can play a better footsie game. without having to worry about too many jump ins
of course nothing official but i assumed it had a 5 frames startup like sMK since they said you can link it after jabs and didnt say anything about frame advantage buffs on those…
and I personally think a 4 frames startup normal with that range would be too good
if thats really 4 frames startup… fuck yeah, but i really wouldnt hope for that
in any case it should recover faster than sMK on whiff
I wanna see some more AE vids of Gen.
My god, My execution with Gen is horrible after using Honda for so long. I find it very hard to remember the timing for the s.mp after hands FADC. I can get it, just it’s very hard for me atm. I’m going to stick to it though. I want to use the old man again. Any tip’s for a vanilla user comming to super Gen?lol.

@tha messiah : my old account was expired so when i buyed ssf4 again, i create a new account… this actual account have 25 days now and i mount a fei long too ^^
for the combo i told you, i think i’ll train that one… or maybe i’ll replace some moves… perhaps i’ll add one more light and replace crane cr.mp by mantis cr.mp before the oga. i don’t know if it’s possible but i’ll try it in training mode ^^
i don’t know for the cr.mp in AE but in the xbox version, it make a good frame trap because st.mp is +6 on hit/block. so i don’t think your opponent have the time to jump, if it’s the case, gekiro lk can be a solution… you can also try a forward dash to make a crossdown or an instant crane jump mp, it’s a nice move to escape and it can make custom overhead an another good frame trap is with mantis cr.hp after a light or a st.mp, no possibility to jump against that ^^
The Hoigek told me cr.lk => cr.mk is a target combo in AE… so i think st.mp can connect with cr.mk again (without counter hit…). but i’m not sure, i don’t play to the arcade version…
Gekiro combos are more important now, and be sure to check out the Gen shenanigans sticky because people have posted some great stuff during super (such as the walkforward cross-up Oga and multiple Oga cross-up lists).
Since FFA has apparently lowered their price per game, I’m thinking about heading over there within the next few weeks with SecretCharacter and hopefully he can bring a tripod/camcorder along? I should probably ask him first hahaha.
this one was on eventhubs. Dont recognise this player, but he’s got some good footsies using PPP s.hk, and cr.mp xx hands. It seems that cr.mp xx hands may replace mk xx hands. In the vid above of Amiyu he is also using it over mk xx hands.

you mean a sMP>cMK link?
in that case… nope, cMK is still too slow and cLK doesnt provide enough frame advantage… you can use it after cLK because you cancel part of cLK’s animation now that it became a target combo, its not due to frame advantage, it works only for cLK xx cMK
Check the “Gen Top 8 in a major” thread for that discussion.
C.mp is 5 start-up in AE. Its the same as S.MK.

Say please!!! Haha! Can do!
