That was directed towards nonzerohero. Anyways, yes Crane s.LP s.LP is a chain, but is not a perfect blockstring. You block the 1st crane s.LP, mash out LP SRK, and it’ll trade with the 2nd s.LP. If you want we can discuss this further in the general discussion thread xD
good point - sorry after reading your post and some quick searches there are definitely other moves that have the same chain/TC mechanic that are not true block strings (e.g. fuerte TC, maybe even guiles/makotos?).
i suppose the recovery frames saved vary on a case by case basis then for each TC. hopefully someone can test this when they get a chance. editing original post to remove misinformation.

That combo at 1:03 does around 40% damage. Looks like FADC combos might be worth it in AE, nice.
EDIT: also around 1:58 he does super into gekiro, is it me or does it do a little bit more damage? Not totally sure though, probably placebo effect ;_;
They’re already worth it. (His current FADC BNB also deals around 40% damage on Chun. 900 stamina and all that.)
I have no idea what you mean by FADC bnb. Like fadc s.mp s.hp gekiro? Or s.mp s.mk gekiro?
But to me theyre not worth it unless I can end the round with them, I need my super. What I mean is that when you include his Tc combo(s) and fadc abilities, I can see so many possibilities for fadc followups. Right now when I play against Rufus and do FADC combo it does as much as, liek what, 25-30% damage (high stamina). I think his TC’s will make his fadc follow-ups somewhat more damaging. As Vanesco said, they do decent damage.
Been wanting to see that combo and how damage it does. After a bit of work should be between 380-385.
Edit: I think that super combo did alot of damage because of how early it was performed and how little hits were given.
I’m really salty about Gen fadcs because everytime I play with viper I can do 400+ damage with one ex bar all day long, I would expect Gen in AE to have an FADC combo with atleast 400 damage or so. Otherwise it just feels not worth it to me. The only point for it now is either if i can kill someone with them, or if you want to look really flashy. Plus his super is just really godlike (both crane and mantis, really).
He is probably talking about [crane] j.hp >[mantis] s.mp > s.hp xx (hp)hands > fadc > s.mp > s.hp~lk gekiro (HK whiffs) = 386 damage. Moving on!

According to the values given to us by Vanesco it should do 400(+) damage. If that would be the case, I’ll happily spend 2 bars of my meter to that, given how easy is to perform with the TC.
any combo that starts with j.HK really shouldn’t even be counted. It’s not hard to block a jump in. Most of Gen’s damage starts from a reversal. That’s where we need to look at.
Yuh. What I’m really looking forward to is stuff like [mantis] c.lk > s.mp > TC1 > Gekiro/possible FADC follow-ups, [mantis] s.mp > TC1 > Gekiro punisher and DAT MANTIS S.HK.
Great tutorial video, You could probably also add oga jumping projectiles. If you play against aggressive players that uppercut or flash kick your ogas then neutral jumping over projectiles works too. If they attempt to uppercut or flashkick expecting your attacking them you can dash in and throw them.
Doing a crossover oga between their first and second or second and third fireballs is also a good way to get in against projectile characters.

That is awful, I guess this is a good example of the so called ‘flowchart’ Gen if there ever was one. Constantly jumping around with j.mk into c.lk and random Oga’s.

Using U2 Crane against guile’s air throw is gonna change a bit in AE. You need to either NJ or wait till he nears you to throw the U2. One of the downsides to its new speed is that you will travel under opponents in Air to Air if you throw the ultra too early.
Also, I posted a note about using EX roll against sonic hurricane/c.mk->hado in the comments page! Lately i’m experimenting with mix-up with EX Oga since it has projectile invincibility on the way up.
Great vid, it actually helped me and I’m not ashamed to say this haha! I never bothered with stance chance glitch, but It’ll be kind of useful against fireball spammers to change from mantis to crane quickly for the jump in.
