Just watched your close OCV vs The Best in the US. Good Showing man.
Is there anyone here that plays on (usa) PSN under the name animu88? He had a 11k Gen and I fought his Gen with mine and I won convincinly, just want to check if itās someone hereā¦ggās and thanks for my B+ rank promotion haha
nope but I might start playing on psn again. I just hit A ranking.
I have noticed that ranked is ALOT worse than endless, I think Iāll stick with that after I reach A rank, itās like everyone in ranked is either playing entirely on gimmicks or simply suck balls. I was thinking it was because I had like 3000 bp so I went up to 10k but nothing changes :\
Playing people from srk ftw.
This is why I still have 0 PP to this day. Vanilla taught me all about ranked lolā¦
The nickname looks strangely similar to amiyu99, but never seen that name before.
Iām currently sticking to Endless entirely because I still cannot get used to the stick (and AC Brotherhood didnāt help me much)
Late reply but anyway:
@Nubbb GOOD STUFF! I seriously facepalmed myself for missing this during SB. Very nicely done, and really a pity you lost to Mike Ross in the end, despite knowing Honda pretty well.
im just starting to learn Gen
against a hawk
against a Ryu
anything i can do better beyond learn to combo haha im workin on it tryin to get comboing on a pad drives me nuts when i gotta rapid fire a button.
Iād work on your general spacing first. You jump way too much.
In that Ryu match you were in crane stance the whole time pretty much which isnāt bad perse but you only jumped in with j.mk which should NOT be abused. You said not to talk about combos, but from the looks of it that is the general problem. You need to look at blockstrings and use more of Gens moves and pokes.
In crane you should at least memorize these two combos:
j.mk > s.lp > c.lk > c.hp (or switch to mantis for c.hk)
j.hk (hits twice) > c.mp > hp Roll (you need to hold back for the roll, itās a charge move. Hold back when you start your jump in attack)
In mantis learn atleast this:
(c.lk > c.lp) s.mp > s.mk > hp hands
c.lk > c.lp > s.mp > lk gekiro (the bicycle kick)
There are many other (multi stance) combos but itāll be good to first learn these. Do his trials to get comfortable with switching stances in combos and practice some links. His best pressure tool by far is (hp) hands, it pushes people away from you and is safe on block. Read some of the sticky threads around here (combo thread, shenanigans thread) and watch videos of solid Gen play to learn, which imo is the best way to learn.

Sup guys
So I got my homie Haunts to upload the match between my team vs Valleās team onto youtube =D
Thereās a part two also =]
that gen is beastly up against the best.
That was fckin nice, idk what else to say lol. You have all my respect for being able to perform like that against a Honda.
lol thats so great man nice fight
2 things i wich you try to work on:
1.mastered combos
2.when you cross-up dont try to do Crane Lp Cr lk its not a good idea if the cross-up connect just do a combo for more damage
i respect you my friend
Where was this video when I first started gen? ;_;
Hey thanks man
You know I donāt usually do that many FADCās in matches. And I really donāt know why I did it so many times.
And I think I got my combos down, itās just really tough to do it when youāre up on stage playing against beasts on stream; nerve wrecking
I actually wrote a blog on how awesome your performance was Nu, thank you for your diligence with our favorite character!
Sincerely, Kahmos
nu you get props for beasting Marn and Alex valle manā¦
A couple of e. honda tips.
l. kick gekiro beats head butt clean.
Focus attack ass smash ex gekiro beats it clean as well.
EVERY GEN should practice punishing blanka balls and headbuttās. It should be like brushing your teeth. Once you mastered that super/ultra 1 punish E. Honda is dog meat.
Otherwise GREAT performance man. You did incredible⦠Lately all of the proās who looked so invincible before are looking more and more beatable. Guess the skill levelās are finally matching up.
Hey thanks a lot iLLusoyun, really
But it is pretty hard for me to punish headbutts with gekiro on reaction, unless I know that theyāre going to do it like in the beginning of the 2nd round I think against Mike. And I was expecting Mike to do a headbutt near the end, thatās why you hear the commentators talk about how they heard me hitting the button for ultra, I just hit it a hair too early =[
And I will try out ex gekiro on buttslam =] Thanks
Hereās a video I made about mp-mk-hands geared toward beginner Gen players like myself. Hope someone enjoys it!
