I’ve been doing this for an hour straight. Is there a pattern to the damned Gekiro? I’m rarely able to finish it…
In vanilla, the most reliable for me was 1… 2, 3… 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. That timing still works great, but in Super I’ve seen people do it just really slowly the whole way.

Sure it’s OK to feel “campy” but I personally only feel that way when my opponent just wants to jump around all day. Then I just punish their jump ins with Crane crouching heavy kick, they eventually learn though.

Real scrubby play 15mins in, everything was off me and had to switch to rog, it was my first tourney in awhile and after awhile i felt like i was spazzing…tried to cross up dudley with ogas after grabs even though i know you can’t…only thing solid out of it was the u2 i did on reaction to him ducking rush…after that it all sucked! lol…alot of choking especially on block chains i am used to :shake:

Not a bad Gen Here- a little too jumpy for my liking. I think on his youtube page he mentions he does that because MK ~ hands is near useless now. And tough to keep pressure on the ground.
Boy his meter gain is really messed up.
I thought it interesting he used the FADC after hands effectively but it looks likes its a waste of meter when your really can’t pressure them too much after that. I like some of his mix-ups after that though.
I swear to god, nothing hits when I use gen. I really really want to be good with him. I just can’t connect my thoughts between his two styles. Anyone else feel like this or have felt like this? Any tips? I can pull off some pretty cool combos, but then I’m so happy that I did them I can’t finish out the round/match. It just seems like everyone I fight doesn’t play like anybody in any videos I watch. I don’t know when to do what. I feel awful after playing random matches and losing every single one barely.

You have to remember he is an advanced character with a big learning curve. His two styles definately gave me problems when I first started out, but it really all comes down to practice and after awhile you don’t really think about it anymore and it’s just an extra button press.
I’d suggest going into training mode and repeating combos that require switching of styles in between over and over. It helped me that way to get used to switching styles.
Gen is like a swiss army knife: so many tools and knowing when to use which is important 
Good point. I guess I just don’t understand how people think during fights, I play Brawl a bit so maybe some of that thinking is subconsciously creeping in.

I might buy a recorder, but I have no idea what is a decent one to buy and how it works at all. If it’s not too expensive I’ll buy one considering I got the whole summer to chill so I’ll be getting a lot of playtime.

i went with the HAUPPAUGE mentioned in both threads, siince it will work with any pc (cuz it does nearly all work itself) and doesnt require an usb 3.0 slot and is a mobile devie but a build in card. price is “okayish”.

Crane.cr lk > Ultra pretty hard to do consistently. I decided to stop trying that.
i’d FA… Dash, Ultra after a connected c.lk. that’s two bars worth to use for +200dmg
liked your playstyle, tho. I find vega hard as hell nowadays. his pokes outdamage and hit ours sadly.
