Against Gouken that last round you definately could have won though. You scored a knockdown but instead of attacking someone that barely had any health you back of only to do an ceiling kick (which cost you the match). He definately knew how to block oga so I would have stopped using it earlier. Nice use of mk hands and roll pressure though.
That Juri had no idea what the hell happened in the first round haha. Also: you can easily hitconfirm Hands into super now so when you whiffed that super in the final round it was unnecessary. ^^
Also, Crane U2 is fireball immune so it is basically free against Gouken when he is trying to zone you with anti-air fireballs.
I’ve got a replay saved where I beat a Gouken player who was otherwise way above my skill level in straight sets with back to back Crane U2 finishes. In one of the finishes the fireball stays on the screen during the entire Ultra animation and you get to see Gen essentially flying through it over and over.

Yeah trust me I know I could have beaten Shine heh. I was also a little baffled at how the third kick of that EX Gekiro whiffed somehow. That would have won the round. I regretted spending Gen’s oh-so-precious meter on that roll FA (I failed to dash) when I landed a super setup shortly after. I did kind of feel like I should have brought U2 with me, but U1 could have worked too.
Could have dashed under Klizza and a mp ~ mk xx hands super probably would have worked, but one of my bad habits is going on autopilot for super and not using a real hit confirm sometimes.

Pimp Gen. A bit of waste with the Meter but over all nice. he was probably looking for stun. But very sexy finish.
I loved his 2x s.mp > (crane) c.lp > roll.

I noticed I can’t hit Dan with it. I’m assuming that you can’t hit some Shotos like Ryu who have two different animations right?
Yeah, It doesn’t work on everyone I think although I did not test anything proper yet. Might be something to make a list about.

Sorry for the noob question but… was mantis c.hp special cancellable in vanilla? I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone use it like that before. With the mk range nerf seems like it’s the best poke?

I’m pretty sure that’s c.MP rather than HP. It doesn’t surprise me actually since you can cancel into Super from c.MP. Also, I remember someone posting that Mantis c.MP is Gen’s longest reaching poke now. The only downside is that you can’t link into it as far as I know. So, we have s.MK for the combo into hands or super and c.MP for simple pokes–interesting balance.
i thought the longest range poke is crane c.hp :>
st.mk still has more range than cr.mp in SSF4
