Latveria shall ever be Latveria- Dr Doom thread 2.0

So, Doom’s got 1,000,000 health. Puts him even with Ryu, solidly in the ‘a little bit above average’ slot.

Anyone know if Doom’s Level 3 Hyper combo is an OTG hyper like Magneto and Dormammu? Just saw a video of Magneto’s Level 3 hit fullscreen: . does anyone know if this also applies to Dorm and Doom’s Level 3?

Doom to Phoenix (and possibly all X-Men) “I’LL MAKE YOU WISH YOU WERE FACING MAGNETO!!!”

i think doom can relaunch by himself by doing E, sj.C, sj.E xx addf xx sj.B, land, f+C_E

has anyone seen the hitbox for his level 3?

sadly no but the red and black Doom color is fucking sick

I find that to be one of his most garish colors, and it’s particularly bad if you don’t have the “Mag-fucking-neto” color on Magneto. Too much red! I’ve always been partial to his blue cloak myself.

Costume 4 for doom is the best :stuck_out_tongue:

Im calling it now theres gonna be squabbles about doom rocks or hidden missile being his best assist

I’ll say it now to finish it.

Keep away = Hidden Missles (should keep Doom safe, or out of screen shot)
Rushdown = Molecular Shield

I’d rather have Molecular shield as keepaway against rushdown teams tbqh…

Actually the only time I’d consider using HM is in a keepaway vs keepaway game… and I’d probably go with plasma beam there if it’s as good as it has recently been hyped up to be.

Again, unless it’s been way buffed from when I played to retail.

I shouldn’t have said Keepaway, that’s the term I didn’t want.

I’ve gone through the entire thread and I can’t seem to find any discussion on his nerfed Molecular Shield assist. How were its properties changed from previous builds?

Nerfed sheild does way less chip sents drones do more but they also negate alot of projectiles on screen the spread also increased more before they all just flew and you and you could jump over them now they keep you pinned down even if you jump…

Hidden missiles can be done with doom on point press Back and C then mash C for more missiles… He sounds so badass and clicks his fingers when he does it aswell

Thanks for the response Smexy, and thanks for your videos/insight on the game. Was Molecular Shield’s duration nerfed or does it lock your opponent down for just as long as before?

ok, WOW! new character forums and my thread is actually going to be meaningful! i will get on updating the first post, what info am i missing guys? also, is there a vid with just that dr doom ground air combo?

I haven’t read the whole thread, but I’ve heard mixed reviews about the good Doctor’s new Hidden Missles. I plan on rocking (no pun intended) those Doom Rock, but how good is it as an assist? Does it track or only hit where the opponent was standing during their activation. Also, they look to have slow start up on point, but since it is a command normal can’t it be canceled into a special? Also, do they do chip damage?

From what I’ve seen, they go to where the enemy stood either when they were launched or when they started coming down. I haven’t paid much attention to them. #Shrug

*Edit: Basically, once they’re coming down, they’re not changing direction.

missiles are special/super move cancellable. they may be cancellable after a standing normal too, but not sure. so keepaway with lasers, missiles, photon shots, molecular shield (faster recovery now), plasma beam, the works should keep your opponent at bay well.

flowchart Doom/Ammy Coldstar

b+C+AmmyCS (all missiles) xx Plasma Beam, b+C (few missiles) xx Plasma Beam, Photon shot, (1st missiles come down), repeat

ammy assist holds them there and they can’t pushblock it, giving you enough time to lauch all missiles. if they manage to super jump, sj with them with a laser xx photon shot or [laser xx flight, photon shot, unfly, laser, land] or whatever.

:xeye:

I assumed they were cancelable, but glad I got confirmation. Now, I know they’ll be viable in Doom’s arsenal. I also didn’t know that Molecular Shield has a faster recovery. :china:

I wonder if Molecular Shield can be used in combos in some way we haven’t thought of yet. Like Iron Man’s Repulsor Blast.
