This sucks what I’m hearing about Doom, but I need more videos before I come to a conclusion
failure is beneath doom
as it will always be
When I mentioned the hitting above you part, I was referring to the upward portion, and how that made it a bad AA. I was trying to look at each part of the attack separately.
As for the downward portion, apparently it doesn’t track very well, and neither the chip damage nor blockstun seem particularly noteworthy. Can’t make a good call until I get to spend more time with it though.
You are right on both accounts, but what makes the missiles particularly interesting is their ability to save your butt if someone starts a combo on you while they’re in the air. Think back to when people didn’t know Chris’ grenade hyper’s second shot would still come down, and how many combos that interrupted. It’s a solid move for that alone.
til people get used to it XD
idrc=i dont remember correctly lol
That’s what I’m worried about, especially since it apparently doesn’t track very well. It’s a neat gimmick, but not a solid one. Maybe if it had a lot of blockstun/hitstun or did really good chip it’d be worthwhile… but as it stands right now, I don’t see anything exciting. You never know though.
Oh, lol.
I’m still really nervous over his nerfed hypers thoughs.
Would you guys agree the doom rocks is a great assist for getting a rushdown character closer? Just trying to get my theory fighter stronger since that’s all I can do for the next two weeks.
WTF? Why not wait for the game and let actually playing make your conclusion? Theory fighting if fucking dumb.
Because it’s still two more weeks before I can get a copy while others already have it and are breaking it down as we speak. But I’ll want to spend time with Doom in the lab because like Yipes I want to see what they nerfed from him, but his assist is still probably pretty good.
Because of the combination of the damage nerf and the addition of knockback properties from MvC2 to MvC3. Point blank photon array now appears to do about as much damage as Hulk’s standing H, and less real damage than Hailstorm’s chip.
I feel like dooms faster Molecular shield will actually make it somewhat useful on point. I’ve seen vids and he doesn’t have much vulnerable time. He might play like an assist character on point xD.
The flurry at around 3:20 is pretty tight. I don’t know the MvC3 inputs, but in terms of MvC2, looks like he does: c.lk, c.mp, s.hk, launcher, sj.lp, sj.mp, APA. Maybe that would be: down A, down B, stand C, down E, sj.A, sj.B, APA.
The opponent was on kinda low health, but it looks like it’d be a 35%-45% combo right there.
Well, can combo into level 3. That’s handy.
All 3 of his assists seem good, though missiles seems situational. I’m strongly considering running him as cleanup, though he’s got the problem of, well…maximum damage. Shame people haven’t really tried to discover his tricks yet - just using him for rocks.
LOVING his missile animation.
What ever happened to Electric Cage? ;_;
If I’m not mistaken, that’s his Level 3 now. The “Watch the Throne” hyper.
I’ve seen that.
Electric Cage was the giant orb he shot out, only a level 1 in MvC2. I liked that move a lot, it was qcf + 2 punches.
It also sucked, good riddance.
Can anyone find a nice comparison vid of MVC2 and MVC3 doom rocks? I’m under the impression that rocks were faster and did more hits at the cost of doing less damage and chip.
