What is the best combo after a launcher with Lars coming in?

check out the Cross Rush/Tag Launcher Mid-Screen and Corner Combo

Just started with Lars.
My current BnBs, which still need work, are:
cr. MP, cr. HP, Rising Storm, cr. MP, cr. HP, Rising Storm – simple, does 331 damage
cr. MP, cr. HP, Rising Storm, st. MP, st. HP, HK Lightning Screw – corner only, 373 damage
cr. MP, cr. HP, Rising Storm, LK Lightning Screw, TAG – 293 damage
TAG (off Law Spin Kicks), st. HP, Rising Storm, cr. MP, cr. HP, Rising Storm

Yep. I second this post for its awesome. Although you can’t go super from the close hp.

yup i know it works, problem is… 35-50% chance your gonna miss the hp, 35-50% chance your gonna messed up the input of the silent entry to a lightning screw, plus if your playing online… lag input delay, even offline is a lil’ difficult getting a 50-75% success ratio even though i would put my execution skill on pro tier level, so why not use the best option with a high chance success of execution? besides the damage difference is not that even large and around that combo count the damage scaling already cut down the HP, so its really pointless to gamble your chances on landing the combo

From my time doing this combo (a couple of hours… Maybe?!) it’s important to hit the neutral area of the stick after the walk st.hp and before silent entry. Online I could see the problem but offline it’s not so hard. IMO

Oh I see you ment lightning thrust… Anyways I’ve been trying to ex. Lightning screw, st.hp, L dynamic entry, cr.hp lightning screw. Is there a trick to hit this combo I try to get them as high as possible and do it but its just not happening? Is it a big character thing???

its actually… ex.lightning screw, hp–silent entry, hp–lightning screw… not hp–dynamic entry, cr.hp–lightning screw… the 1-2frame timing after lk.silent entry is hard at start but sooner or later with enough practice and muscle memory it will be easy, heck im pulling it off 100% online lol

as for the mjolnir thing… i use pad lol, i have more success landing the hp, but having problems with input of silent entry-lightning thrust to a lightning screw, but still though… on the heat of moment i would prefer something im more comfortable with rather having a mistake

here’s a tip… after ex.lightning screw or ex.rising storm, the timing for hitting HP on max height is when the body is just right above Lars head, note that u pay attention on the opponents body not the legs when falling, note that if u go on training stage the exact line on the background on Lars head that’s the line marker where their falling before exactly they hit the line that’s the time marker when u have to hit HP, it seems hard at first but like i said… enough practice and muscle memory it will be easy!

practice course for it… starter : try executing it 3x in a row if u miss start all over again from ‘0’ start, after u accomplish it go with 5x in a row, then after 10x, do the 3x and 5x in a day to refresh up your memory

Just thought I’d point out, as many of you probably already know, with Lars’ corner combos, you get a bit more damage if you are able to do cr.mp rather than cr.hp if you are going to cancel into a special, as the first hit of Lars’ cr.:hp: does 50 damage, while Lars’ cr.:mp: / cr.:mk: does 60 damage. E.g., cr.:hp:, cr.:mp: xx :dp: :hk: would do more damage than cr.:hp:, cr.:hp: xx :dp: :hk:.

Also, what’s the juggle potential on Rising Storm? From the combos in the OP, Lightning Thrust has a juggle potential of 5, since you can connect it after doing 4 hits on an airborne opponent (which would put the juggle points at 4), but Rising Storm allows for better tag-cancel set-ups compared to lighting thrust. Is it possible to connect Rising Storm after cr.:mp:, cr.:mp:, cr.:mp:, cr.:hp: in the corner?

Whoops. Here I am doing the combo wrong and what not. I’ve been doing jins cadc wrong as well. Silly me.

Ok that’s better I got it down pretty good. Ill work on it more. St.hp, silent entry, st.hp, H screw works as a good tag combo from a launch albeit hard to time the first st.hp. Does almost equivalent to jins cadc tag in combo. 10 damage less than jins off of a raw launcher.
However it seems to do more than jins tag in combo when chain launched (cross rush???! I think that’s what it’s called) into.

Well I checked the 1st post and didn’t even see the combo I just posted. So tag/rush, st.Hp, L silent entry, st.Hp, H lightning screw. I think it’s probably the most damaging tag you can get w/o meter. The timing is right but I’ve been having success with it. It also works as a pretty good tag cancel. It’s something that has to be timed very well.

I’ve been using it with Jin to Lars:

Shun Masatsu, mist step~lp, f+mk, L power stance, H median line destruction, Tag (1st hit of MLD), jump forward, j.hp, st.hp, L silent entry, st.hp, H lightning screw.
465 damage (I think?!? it’s hard to read HD graphics on my “fat” screen tv)

This combo is hard to do consistently… for me at least. Very goldilocks.

did you just do the power stance to add meter? isn’t MLD forward back forward HP?

Yes I guess it gives some meter, very little. It’s more for the timing of the MLD so that all of the hits connect. Power stance is cancelable into other specials. The MLD is buffered in the f+mk, qcb+l part of the combo.

If you can read number notation it would play out like this:

6+Mk, 214+Lp, 6+Hp

Notice 6~4~6 = forward, back, forward

Man I’m having so much trouble figuring out how to read the thread with the new design. Can someone please give me the optimized combos after launcher and optimized combos after long confirms and after a jump in.
