Lars Combo Thread

Hey guys, check out the thread I just made, has alot of useful combos in that vid. Didn’t wanna repost it here so I thought I’d just mention it.

So what’s good to do with Lars post launcher? Particularly, decent damage that does not make them travel far away from you.

Lightning screw, or lighting screw into EX lightning screw are both quite good. But the best enders usually involve lightning thrust or the lightning kick after silent entry. Not sure if you’ve seen my combo vid, but you can get a few ideas from this hopefully:

so just curious but are the combos in the OP his optimal / max damage combos? Basically im looking for:
(meterless)
midscreen
punish combo
corner combo
1 bar combo
boost chain into lars combo
and finally, DP xx > lars combo

is it just me or can he barely do anything off a boost chain? the best iv got is cr.mp > cr.mk xx SE ~ LT

also, thanks to anyone who decides to post up a new combo if its not listed. Id really love you <3

Off of a boost chain (at least now in ver 2013) standing heavy into Lightning screw does decent damage, and is better for switch cancel combos. Cr.mp, cr. hp into rising storm or lightning trust both do a decent amount of damage as well. You can check out my recent combo video: Back In Action for it may contain some of the stuff you’re looking for. It’s from ver 2012 but the stuff still works

already watched the video last night, its basically all the same stuff im already doing. nice synergy though

So you can’t link crHP after crLP anymore.

But you can link crL cr M cr H though

So just swap all his BnBs with cr.LK/LP > cr.MP > cr.HP xx Whatever

Yeah so the highest damage ive got for lars no meter no jump in midscreen is 317.

cr.mp ~ cr.hp xx H Rekka ~ cr.mp ~cr.mk xx L Rekka xx Mjolnir ~ cr.hp xx SE: Lightning Thrust.

It might be possible to get SLIGHTLY more by replacing the mjolnir > stuff, with L&L ~ cr.mk xx SE: Lightning Thrust

but it would only be a very slight difference in damage.

Again, all of that said, im still in 1.6. This combo SHOULD still translate to be his highest damage non meter combo (that you can kinda hit confirm…easier to confirm from a jump in)

idk, maybe in 1.8 using DP enders will be optimal for damage, not sure. It would be nice to know though.

Also, im pretty sure his best hit confirmable combo (no meter, solo, midscreen) is:

cr.mp ~ cr.mp ~ cr.mk xx L Rekka xx Mjolnir ~ cr.hp xx SE: Lightning Thrust…this has been known though.

will be updating the 1st post soon, experimenting a lot of better potential combos at lab right now

I look forward to seeing what Desk comes up with in this 2013 version. Has anyone tried Desk’s combos on this version? I’m busy with Guy currently.

lol non of this work, c.mk wont connect to mp or hp dynamic entry only lp version, lp.dynamic entry doesnt have that much hit stun for u to follow up a link connection and also ex.version since hit stun got nerfed on patch, r u sure your playing on the right patch?

I think you don’t see the combo as a whole mate :slight_smile:

All the DE’s are indeed light and after I do the :d::p: :slight_smile: then you can connect the :d::hp: :).

Btw I’m having trouble getting the :d::mk: after a DE - lock n load, any tips on that or is it just timing?

lol yes i am reading it wrong
and yes the :d::mk: after Lock & Load timing is 1-2 frame tricky on mid-screen

from a L&L combo your only option on mid-screen is Rising Storm, but on corner go with Lightning Screw cuz it gives more damage and more air lift/float for the next juggle combo from tag cancel

from a Rising Storm, definitely Lightning Screw cuz of damage and air lift/float for the next juggle combo from tag cancel

cuz the Rising Storm air lift/float is similar heights to a Cross Rush and Tag Launcher, so the next character from tag cancel will only have a lil’ option to combo with on that height

btw i updated some of new combos… go check em’ out!
