is there a west coast srk room yet?
that’s why tournaments are a true indicator of skill.
i don’t like this streak match stuff, it’s more of a grind.
My first impressions of the 2nd CB:
-
Why the fuck did they close off even more moves compared to the 1st CB? Shit don’t make sense. Especially now that MT’s best combo off of a QCF+P is P, PPK or some shit like that until you unlock everything else…
-
Fuck Supers. Seriously. It dumbs down the game to a turtle fest, especially on the very last round when both characters have full Hero Gauge (assumong BOTH players are competent). You try to throw, you eat a Super on reaction (remember, Attack beats Throw, and the Super IS an Attack, not to mention only a one button command…). You do a predictable string, you eat a Super. You block low, you eat a Super. Hell, I think there are instances where you can spam a string that’s safe on block, and when you see it hit, link a Super afterwards. How stupid…
-
c.P is too fucking good. Can’t even side step it and attack afterwards cuz that shit recovers fast. Hell, it even beats out stuff that supposedly should work against it (i.e. quick mids). Shit was even stuffing my f+K at MAX range (I’m using MT).
-
Sidestep system is still kind of wonky. Sometimes I’m able to sidestep linear strings and punish, while other times said linear string still tracks and hits me despite me avoiding the first two hits and etc. (especially linear strings with no circular attacks in them).
-
I can Korean Wavedash in this game (and I’m using keyboard dammit…) as well as cancel my sidesteps into a crouchdash, but due to the system and lag factor, there’s not much I can do with it at the moment… But I can see the potential with this once I get the hang of the game down (especially with MT where I can do dumb shit like crouchdash into a block, low, throw, or the mid Rising Knee into combo…).
-
Speaking of crouchdashes, this game needs a reverse crouchdash. Seriously. It would add more depth and movement into the game to the point where instead of doing the obligatory c.P against high-string spammers, we could do reverse crouchdashes into something cooler… But I dunno, that’s just me.
-
This game needs a stage with walls (no, I’m not suggesting a wall system like the mainstream 3d games) or an open area to spice things up a bit. You can only do so much when some people play by running all the way to the edge of a ring and get a lucky throw due to lag and ring you out in the process…
I’m surprised there’s no constructive feedback on the different changes on the styles yet…
After playing for a while, i like the fact that they took out some of the moves. It forces you to keep playing to buy them. And the connections seem a lot better now. I think that may be due to the servers no longer being overloaded with people.
I was gonna make a thread on ijji, but i’m almost positive that the thread will eventually run into the ground because of some of the people who post there.
What I want to know is who thought it was a good idea to make TKD KK a frame trap and to give them a faster jab than the other two classes. It’s so awesome to land a CH 2P against someone only to get jabbed out of everything.
Why the hell does MT’s neutral throw do random damage? Is that the lag? Is that a throwback to ST?
MT 5P = 5K in speed, wtfux. Also 6P is a frame slower and leads to a knockdown on hit (which just owns the shit out of scrubby crap like people spamming PPP with TC).
Best combo I have with MT right now are just 236P PG PP+KK and 66P K+GK, doing 45 and 40 damage respectively. I’m not a combox guy so there’s probably way better out there.
Also el oh el at MT’s hero skill only being punch counterable on block, whereas TC’s you can go eat lunch and still punish it.
As a random aside, sidestepping 2Ps in VF4 and 5 leave you at -frames, so that really isn’t abnormal.
Fake fake edit: Why the hell is TK’s command backflip completely fucking invincible? It’s an epic effort to actually punish people who spam the shit out of it every time they end up at -frames.
It’s not completely invincible, i’ve been hit out of it a few times.
And yeah, MTs super is really safe. There’s almost no reason to not throw it out. I think the most you can get hit with is a throw, or a string that combos on nh
I like how you cant grab people after you side step even though their attacks are not even aiming at you.
I’ve never been a fan of the throw mechanics in this game. If your opponents attack is starting up, your throw will fail, even if it lands way before his move hits. You can only throw if they’re not doing anything or during the ending frames of an attack, pretty bogus I say. I think throws should beat striking attacks given your throw hits before their striking attack.
^that sounds like it would make to much sense.
is there noone on vent?
what’s the room/pass for today
is there anyone on this fucking game that doesn’t lag to shit
Once I get Judo unlocked I’ll fire up an SRK room to see how many people show up, so far no one has bothered to start one I think.
Depends on when in the moves execution you start the evade, but generally you will have advantage in that situation. Evading high P’s usually puts you at a small disadvantage though.
So uh, is this game cool? The throws sound like VF. How fast are they? If they are too slow that might now work well. How is the sidestep system, is it like vf3’s or something? Can you escape throws and if you can, how does it work?
For some unknown reason, I seem to encounter less lag on the East server, despite me being West coast…
And what the hell, I’m gonna make an SRK room now. I’m on the East Coast server, room name SRK, password is srk.
it isn’t cool right now
don’t play it
i just tried to play it and it was super choppy, my pc is really slow, like 1.5ghz, is that below the reqs? cause uh it was unplayable
Dandy J: I’m running this game on a Pentium 3 1.0 ghz and it runs fine. I have a GForce FX 5200 for the vid card.
Edit: As of 3:30 PST, I’m currently idling on the East Coast server, room 185 (Room name: SRK), password: srk
Come get some games in!
It’s not really all that safe. Instead of blocking the last hit (the jumping knee), you can duck it, and you’ll be at a nice frame advantage.
And TC’s super is so unsafe on block because of how good the first hit is. It’s quick, it has nice range, and it places the body low enough to dodge most high attacks. It’s probably the only super that’s good enough just to throw out (every once-in-awhile).
The game seems ALOT more play-able today. It’s about to where the first closed beta was at (lag wise). Still have those stupid abnormal connections though, but not nearly as many. It’s close to the same as the connection errors in the last beta. Though if you have an abnormal connection with someone…then don’t try playing them again because it will lag (if it works at all).
so what do these “hero skills” look like? how much damage are they?
The hero skills are just big combos. They look cool enough…for a combo. And they do 1/2 a life bar.
