Korean arcade parts discussion

@wazwuz
About the color code you chose for your golden fanta grommets : did you think about the fact that one day some people may exchange levers, or sell them second hand…and they may end up on the market with other red and translucent silicone fanta grommets , then it would be difficult for someone not familiar with your mods to say which is which since the colors and shape look alike. Sure the hardness would be different in some cases, but without a durometer…

Perhaps you could put a marking that stipulates wazwuz or arcade stick indonesia on the grommets, or just a small marking ?
( IST’s silicone red grommet for FLF & fanta is very soft https://image.ibb.co/e5eJ3Q/IST_flf_grommet.jpg ; OEM versions of fanta levers which are rebranded for korean fightstick companies now have a translucent silicone grommet such as seen here for Dahoon fighsticks https://image.ibb.co/iD5GOQ/dahoon_fanta.jpg )

A jlf shaft will fit a fanta. I always assumed a phreakmod link would hit the collar at the fatter connection spot and make the stick unusable.

Edit added picture of mine with an injustice battop and extender on and one of just jlf shaft

Can somebody tell me what the Golden Fanta does? Is it easy to get it as a Korean resident?

Hey guys, how are the Crown buttons compare to Sanwa and Seimitsu? I’m interested in trying them out for my Tekken stick project.

The Crown SDB 201 that FocusAttack.com sells are great. They are rated at a higher activation “failure” point than both Sanwa and Seimitsu by a large margin. Sanwa and Seimitsu are like around 2mil and Crown is 5 mil. They feel great, almost like mechnical keyboard keys and the tactile feel is great. It’s the only button I’m going to use going forward. I wish they made 24mm versions.

I stand corrected. I thought I read somewhere that the Fanta won’t fit the JLF Conversion Shaft properly but maybe I’m thinking of something else. Good luck trying the link with it though.

Perhaps the crown jlf conversion shafts don’t fit due to difference in size?
But an actual jlf shaft pulled from a sanwa does fit a fanta.

Golden Fanta is still in beta. after the second batch feedback I will fixed the items/parts that works well.
At first I didn’t think this project will be popular enough to be traded as second hand, it was community project from this tread to answer our curiosity about green lever. but it goes beyond green lever mod, we try to make more parts for more possibilities, and it seems attract many K-stick enthusiasm to make their custom Fanta using Golden mod.
then I ask US retailer to bring it to US market but they didn’t confidence with MOQ I offer (100 sets), they say K-stick is slow moving. so I decided to make it only in small batch in my workshop and wait if this Golden mod will attract more K-stick enthusiasm or not.
at some point I will put marking as you suggest.

for now, my focus is making the Golden Crown mod

Btw, who have contact with knee, JDCR, Saint, Infiltration?. I want to send our Golden mod for them to try

Golden fanta is mod parts to custom your Fanta stick into your preferable settings. you can contact me if you want give it a try, I manage to make a few sets ready in stock.

That would be the best thing for the mod if we could get JDCR and Saint involved. I’m sure saint in particular has had vast experience with many levers. It would be a dream come true to see him win a tournament using the golden Fanta mod.

I was supposed to get my golden fanta mod on Monday. However I wasn’t going to be home due to being enrolled in summer classes. So I had DHL deliver it to a service point near me. I get a notification that they delivered my package to the service point, but the tracking message said, “Delivery attempted; recipient not home” on Monday June 19, 2017 around 3:46PM(even though I stated a signature wasn’t required). I visit my local service point and my package wasn’t there. Looks like my PACKAGE is on Hold at their facility. So I re-scheduled the package to be delivered AT MY HOME ADDRESS for June 20, 2017. I get a text message AT 9:24 AM saying that I have a delivery scheduled to be delivered today (June 20, 2017) by the end of the day. I look at the tracking updates, and the package is with the courier at 9:40 am. The day ends, and my package DID NOT arrive. I look at the tracking updates, and the Golden Fanta mod @wazwuz sent me is still with the courier. The tracking message didn’t update. WTF. So I check my phone, and it says estimated delivery time is at June 21 2017 by the end of the day. Well, what do you know, my package isn’t here, and it’s still with the COURIER on JUNE 20 2017. WTF is going on, and what should I do. IT is now THURSDAY

Tracking hasn’t update for 2 days, and has been with the courier for 2 days. Perhaps he’s an arcade enthusiast as well. http://imgur.com/EKgrJYb

Text message I received that I had a delivery scheduled for June 20th 2017, end of day. http://imgur.com/061Iixv

Estimated delivery time, yet nothing arrived and the tracking info DID NOT CHANGE. http://imgur.com/gUwjNyE

Jesus Christ, package from wazwuz didn’t arrive, and now my order from Paradise Arcadeshop seems like its gone. Order status still has not changed and looks like im out of 80$ from them. Fugggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg this has been such a confusing and shitty week lmao.

@wazwuz I can contact Saint & JDCR. Would you like me to ask them?

Great. Just in time when I have problems with my order, Please help for solution.

So I just received the Order no 20170614TEQRU00004 . I order for 10pcs of Airbag and a Crown 309MJ.
BUT they sent me 10pcs of myungshin and Crown 309M. they completely sending me the wrong items.
Could you please send me the missing support plate for making it Airbag and 309MJ Top housing + mounting plate ?

@all
what are the differences between 309MJ and 309M ? is it only the top housing with chopped collar?

Yes please, it would be awesome. I have contact them by FB, but still no reply.

Sorry for the delay. if you could ask for the courier mobile number maybe you can find the right schedule.

Definitely not your fault, it’s DHL’s fault. Not sure why they are ignoring my requests or my package all together. It’s becoming extremely frustrating because this really shouldnt be happening. The courier should just do his job.

@wazwuz

  • Helpme exists in 309M (Helpme, but revised since collarless + sanwa style mount plate) and 309Helpme"K" (original Helpme with korean collar and korean mount plate). Samducksa are really boring with their crap ref codes, imho.
    Both have 35shoreA silicone grommet.

  • 309 “MJ” with short collar & sanwa jlf type mounting plate with 25A silicone grommet. No other versions apart from varying switches and battop color .

Both 35A and 25A silicone grommets are of the “new” type, thicker than the old type (307 levers) 55A and 60A silicone parts

The choice of ref code “M” and “MJ” is weird to say the least (m = neckless + jap plate, MJ = short neck + jap plate) , since both have “japanese” features

Concerning th efact they made a mistake with your order, probably “J” (ref code for SHORT COLLAR) stands for “Japan”, at least the new hybrid korean/japanese standard for Samducksa/Crown, the problem is there was already a “japanese” version for levers before, called commercially “sanwa version” (collarless + japanese mounting plate). In a hurry they probably took one “japanese style” 309 for the other (time to wake up in there ,guys…) .

IF they had opted for a clear ref code such as JP= japanese plate , KP = korean plate , NN = no Neck, SN =Short/Small Neck , KN = Korean Neck , it would have been simpler.
They used similar codes for the switches though : JMS = japanese matsushita switches (rough guess, but it’s apparently the case)

Noted, I do some measurement that the new grommets is thicker, the same with myungshin grommets. and the spring makes the tension harder, 35A+spring harder (if not is about the same) than green 45A Golden Fanta.

here is my quick overview:
I see that even without collar, the top housing is having inside “neck” as a gate, this is major improvement over 307FK. I wonder 309MJ chopped collar will make much difference in the throw distance? or they have adjust it to have the same throw distance.
the other difference is Crown have lower shaft diameter bigger and shorter, which makes Fanta shaft is not compatible
also the new thicker crown grommet can be installed inside Fanta, but it will leaves empty space in the corner.

So I will make the Golden Crown parts like Golden Fanta parts.
Shaft : 8mm and 10mm (default crown is 9mm)
Actuartor : 15,5mm and 16,5 (default crown is 15,75mm which it about 16mm)
Grommets : clear 35, green 45, blue 55, red 65 (default 309M is 35)
Switch support

So I received my replacement Myoungshin Fanta, and lo and behold it has the exact same issue – one direction is NOTICEABLY easier to push than the others.

I’m not sure exactly what is causing this issue, but I took the time out to cut off the excess rubber from my original grommet and it seems to be much better – but that could be in my head.

Anyone have any ideas?

I was wondering if the grommets are going to be as thick as the ones included in the 309 series. I just recently got your grommets for the crown and noticed that the red grommet (65a) felt a whole lot loose than the 35a on my other 309mj setup and the 60a silicone grommet made by crown on my 309 help me korean lever.

From your tweet you posted here, there didn’t really look to be any issue with your grommet. This is unless you’re speaking more about the pivot (which is the center plastic piece), as that appears to have a bit of a blemish, though it can be argued that this may be mostly cosmetic. But I assure you, if this is the issue, it isn’t going to impact the tension via one cardinal direction over another; certainly not to any degree you will be able to detect. I own several Myoungshin Fantas & there are molding blemishes in the housings (and to a lesser degree the pivots), but it certainly has not impacted performance.

You may want to take a closer look at the switches. Sometimes right out of the box, there isn’t the greatest parity between them. That is where one may more easily detect a resistance discrepancy. But even if all 4 switches were perfect out of the box, after about a week, they won’t be. You simply rearrange them accordingly (to your preference/play style) whenever it becomes noticeable.

My advice is to simply play on the lever. If it’s your first K lever, it’s going to take some getting used to. I wouldn’t fret.

I thought that it was the 309FJ instead of a 309M, but i don’t think that arcadeworlduk really knows what their doing when it comes to korean joysticks. I think that your right concerning the rest of the information your talking about. I didn’t know the 307 had a different grommet, i just thought it was a higher tension.

Also, I need some help on the Fujin lever. http://cafe.naver.com/airbaglever I don’t speak a word of Korean and google translate just makes matters worse sometimes. I think that this might mean no more Fujin lever if what I read was correct. Never got to use one which sucks.
