Korean arcade parts discussion

Is that his website? Dang he was the one I bought the stick from what 10 years ago or so.

Nice document, thanks for linking. After reviewing the thread as to what the Green lever actually was, I scrapped those plans.

I tried the red grommet, and sheesh, that is stiff! It was really challenging to hit double taps with that much resistance. I’ve got the dark blue grommet in, now. It’s slightly stiffer than stock, which is probably what i was looking for. The light blue grommet basically felt identical to the stock grommet. I do plan on giving the lighter grommets a try later on.

I’m currently using the stock shaft and actuator. The larger shaft felt pretty nice, and so does the 16mm actuator, so I’ll be back around to try them again once I have a smooth battop. The textured battop I have just felt wrong. I also want to see how the Crown shaft does in this mix, at some point.

still rocking my golden fanta 10mm shaft, all other parts just stock airbag. been thru a couple tournaments and days of straight tekken7.
small update: was using alu green battop modeled after sanwa bats, thing was wimpy and slippery on hands.
grabbed two green from paradise arcade one sits high on shaft, one sits low(threading is inset further)
not missing any 1p Nina mists because of leverage now.

sits very deep

installed in my lever

alu v deep sitting paradise

OG players will remember the Sega Saturn ASCII stick. . .

Ordered from paradise arcade 6 days ago, and my order status hasnt changed. It still says "Payment accepted ". I also only recieved an order confirmation email. Anyone know the typical ship times from them?

I also personally enjoy the 10mm shaft, have try 9mm for a week and one T7 tournamnet and still prefer the 10mm. execution is faster using 10mm because it is travel less than 9mm shaft.

I managed to find some time to try different shaft/actuator combinations tonight, and the 8mm shaft / 16mm actuator seems like the sweet spot for my play style.

The 10mm shaft / 16.5mm actuator combination felt a lot like my Crown levers, and that wasn’t bad.

Thanks @wazwuz everything came in today no problems.

My favorite lever so far is the Fujin I used in Japan with the 309 being a second cuz I liked the movement, but the grommet was too light. Hopefully I can figure something out that is in-between with the fanta kit. Will give the silicone a go first.

Thanks for everything!

no problems. please review the clear 35 silicone grommets. if it’s good, I will include it in the next batch.

btw, don’t forget to peel the plastic film on the dust washer

I’m really shocked how much difference the switch support makes in how the lever performs.
Airbag is definitely the way to go. I was skeptical, but it really feels like a different lever.
I wonder if a suitable replacement for these Panasonic switches will ever be found. I’m glad I have two sets.

I briefly tried the green and clear grommets, and they just aren’t for me.
I know some people like a soft grommet, but I don’t see the attraction.

I’ve got a clear Sanwa battop on the way that I think will sit perfectly on these shafts.

@wazwuz I got my kit in yesterday as well. What is this piece with the screws for? In the second picture:

The screws are replacement screws for the switches + switch support.

Got mine yesterday also. It might take me a little longer to throw in my 2Ā¢ as I ā€œadultā€ pretty hard, but I will try to be detailed about it all. :#

So is that like a spacer to put the switches on or something? With a Circle type gate?

@VarmintBaby it’s meant to be a switch support like on the fanta airbag.
Edit didn’t realize it was all on one pic. It’s the middle looking at it from bottom.
Edit 2 why must autocorrect change fanta to fantastic??

If you have fanta airbag you won’t need it. It is for support to make the switches steady. When you use it, you will need longer screw which I included.

Hi, I’m new to the world of Korean levers. I ordered my first (Myoungshin Fanta) and it had an oddity – down and left took a LOT less tension to hit than up and right.

I opened it up, and lo and behold: https://twitter.com/pobega/status/876949418813132800

Is this a common issue with these grommets?

I’m also curious if anyone knows where to get replacement grommets in the US without paying outrageous import prices.

And last question: is there anywhere reputable where you can currently purchase a Crown 309? FocusAttack is out.

It can just be that it was badly molded when processed. Maybe that’s why places like Crown opt in for silicone nowadays. As for replacement grommets in the US, probably not.

You can get a 309 on Paradise Arcade Shop.

@Pobega I ordered a 309 on Paradise Arcade Shop 7 days ago, my order status hasn’t changed. Still says payment accepted. I emailed them 3 days ago no response. Sounds like something fishy even though Paradise Arcade has a good rep. Be wary when ordering those 309s from them. I didnt use paypal either so im screwed about $80.

@wazwuz I was noticing that in some earlier posts of the Golden Fanta kit, it came with like 4 shafts and 4 actuators. Why did you change it to only the 2?

Because it didn’t works well
