Hey guys have been looking around on the forum here kinda new to the this thread. Anywho, was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions for me either here or thru PM.
I am interested in a 309 for my Razer Panthera with an extra grommet @35 and if they donāt come with the Panasonic switches a set of those as well. I donāt know what sites are legit or not or if anyone actually sells all those items.
Again kinda green to this thread any help appreciated. Ty
@KrAzYsTeP youāll need the 309mj for that enclosure, and it looks like Paradise Arcade Shop is the only place that has it in stock right now.
Both 309 models come with Panasonic switches, but the only way to get a 35A grommet right now is to buy a 309helpme, which wonāt mount in your enclosure without modification.
@LordFu The 309mj and 309helpme dont have the same housing where i can just swap the grommet? Also there is no korean site then that sells the grommets seperately?
As I explained previously, the best option is to buy a lever with different grommets and a set or two of switches. The additional cost is low compared to buying a given joystick model, not being satisfied with the feel, then buying an extra grommet that should be more to your liking (you pay extremely high shipping just for a 1-2usd item, which is the price of a grommet) .
Makestick sells 25,35, 55 silicone grommets seperately. Wawuz sells custom silicone āgolden crownā grommets (check this thread), closest youāll get to the 35A you want is his opaque colored 45A, he says he canāt go down to 35shoreA or beyond due to design restrictions.
@wazwuz
just a little question, you say the stock silicone Crown grommets have a design feature (two concentric grooves on each face) that prevents them to be made of softer silicone grades⦠but did you happen to compare the early Crown grommets (307 model: 55shoreA and circa 60shoreA, the latter now discontinued ) with the recent 309 grommets ( 25A and 35A hardness) ?
The new softer ones do not have the same dimensions⦠as they are thicker.
Perhaps you based your Golden Crown grommets on the 1st gen parts (thinner ) ā¦
@KrAzYsTeP you can swap them, sure. That just requires buying both since Iām not aware of any domestic distributors selling the stock grommets separately.
Yes , i make the mold based on crown 303FK grommet. I have order an 309MJ from makestick, when I can get my hands on it, I will learn to make the Golden Mod for Crown.
there is no such a perfect stick. Everyone have their own preference. I agree with idea to buy one stick and use different switches, grommet, actuator, and shaft to find your most preferable combination.
I agree 100% I started out on pad then switched to a Sanwa JLF on which I tried a bat top, 2, 4lb springs, & Kowal oversized actuator. I switched to a Myoungshin Fanta then I found out that I preferred it using the JLF shaft with a bat top; & I just recently picked the Panasonic AM51630C69N switches over the stock Gersung V1623A2 switches. Hopefully, Iāll get closer to my perfect lever with the Golden Fanta Mod & silicone grommets.
Quick question for anyone who might be able to answer. On MakeStick they have a 309 Crown HelpMe with a Sanwa option and the 309MJ as well, besides the 25 and 35 grommet is there any noticeable difference? Also the pics seem to show it with the GSM switches instead of the panasonics. If anyone can shed any light on this much appreciated. And i will return the favor in imaginary cookies.
Finally found somebody to make a plexi for my omni. EJM hooked it up. Kept the 35mn hole so I can easily switch to a k stick if I want.
Very happy with it. Just wanted to give fellow omni owners a heads up. Cause itās no fun looking for a custom plexi for these badboys
From the recent interview with JDCR and Saint by Gerald at Core-A, Saint just mixes and matches lever parts to find what works. When he was using the 309 recently, I guess he just wanted to know if it works well throughout the tournament.
Originally, both the normal 309 and the MJ had Gersungs from its release up until early this year. The ones on Makestick as well as Paradise Arcade Shop and Focus Attack has Panasonic switches. I assumed that Crown didnāt have Gersung switches in stock at the time so they went to Panasonic but sooner or later those latter switches will be harder to obtain. There was some talk a couple of pages back about that situation.
I am on that!
Yeah I wanna know the cost as well. I am currently using the original Omni with a Vewlix but I really want to use 30mm buttons now.
