Korean arcade parts discussion

I was thinking about this setup too, will try it latter

No, I’m just curious. I just got a Hayabusa and I’m pretty happy with that. But I recently upgraded to this from an X-arcade and my biggest gripe was the switches either moving or the springs getting weak. I saw the construction of these Korean sticks and realized they were very similar

Just installed the Crown 309helpme lever and I’m really digging it so far, the reduced tension is more my kind of jam.

Anyone know if Makestick is on vacation or something? I tried to contact them about 5 days ago and haven’t heard a response from them.

willing to part with my golden fanta kit, anyone else wanna test it out?

Yeah that’s weird. I am sort of surprised since they added the Crown SDB-201 buttons. Maybe when it’s fully available, they might get active again but I am worried though.

Tried those FA omron on TTT2, man they are way too soft for me, I could barely move correctly
Made me so upset I actually wanted to throw them across room lol so soft made Nina sidestep up 1 flick to down motion during combos.

right now I’m at the point were I think i’m just gonna run a stock airbag with the 10mm shaft.
but I really want the myoungshin battop on it :frowning:
when I got deeper into switches and actuator combos the lever just felt retarded most of the time to me

Data I was writing as I tested. random-ish. Might find of interest.

[details=Spoiler]testing my execution opinions on one 2D and one 3D game VSAV and TEKKEN [POOR] [FAIR] [GOOD] [GREAT] [PERFCT]
Red grommet is too heavy for my tastes, feels heavier than fujin a bit, and using sanwa small battop feels bad on it. Some players love levers that fight them back, just not me.

[RED/7mm shaft/14.5 actu]
TEKKEN: movement was semi good, overthrows on lever made wave dashing errors. I got tired. BDC felt slow cause I hit collar. Nina spits and hayashidas 85% consistant
14.5actu felt very smooth and I did like that [fair]
VAMPIRE SAVIOR: dashing sloppy and TK moves hard. got tired. to many handicaps [poor]

[RED/8mm shaft/15.5 actu]
TEKKEN: results nearly mirroring 1st set test. 2P wavedash felt harder some reason now and nina execution felt dropped to 80% [fair]
VSAV: tension and long throw makes game too sloppy [poor]
Comment: this setup was actually fun on skyblue for tekken

[RED/10mm shaft/cones actu]
At this point I had to pause, I was using a Kaze style 3-1 switch setup and the 3 [AM51662C5N] switches were too light and all directions but up [gersung] get stuck. not a fan of that goofy 3-1 anyway, changing to a all [AM51630C69N]. Cones and 17.5 unuseable atm.

[DARKBLUE/10mm shaft/14.5 actu]
TEKKEN: could not hit any corners properly. [poor]
VSAV: same

[DARKBLUE/10mm shaft/15.5 actu]
TEKKEN: Perfect electrics became easier, waves felt easier
nina spits felt slightly harder because of short throw [good]
VSAV: felt great, a good 2D setup imo [great]
Comment: these thicker shafts are EWGF cheats I swear

[DARKBLUE/11mm shaft/14.5 actu]
TEKKEN: bad [poor]
VSAV: no corners, can’t even dp [poor]

[DARKBLUE/11mm shaft/15.5 actu]
TEKKEN: everything works but throw felt too short for comfort. [good]
VSAV: corners better but still sloppy, playable. [fair]

[GREEN
all too mushy and light for me I couldn’t step right or move.
my style is 50-55 range grommet

SKYBLUE/8mm shaft/stock actu
TEKKEN: played many games on this enjoyed it a lot
nice to have extra space to swim around inside collar
but hitting the gate felt over extended.
I think players who can uses accurate movements
without gate slapping will like this shaft. [great]
VSAV: skipped, throw too long

SKYBLUE/10mm shaft/stock actu
TEKKEN: MONEY. feels aggressive and corners don’t go bye bye [great][/details]

anyone brand new to collared KLever imo should get a standard airbag or a helpme(?)
play for like 2-3 weeks then you know what modifications you need for YOU alone.

getting a fat shaft, 4 different switch, iron battop, and a ruby actuator 1st is gonna leave you gimpy.

$10 per button? Yikes!

Im game. How much?

So I ended up just getting the Fujin V2 in the mail by a complete surprise, they never sent me a tracking number or anything. Either way it was a cool surprise!

The creativity in this thread is great. I’m looking forward to experimenting with different switches, and I’m hopeful that after-market grommets will become more widely available.

I’ve had a Crown 309MJ for a couple weeks, now. The 309 is less fatiguing to use than the 307 I’d been using, but I sometimes miss the longer throw of the 307. I currently have Gersung switches and a 60A rubber grommet on the 309MJ.

I have the Makestick Viewlix enclosure, a Myoungshin lever, and some ‘Sanwa’ Omron switches on the way. I hope that the Myoungshin lever lives up to the hype.

Just installed the Fujin V2 but replaced the rubber grommet with the one found in the Crown 309helpme as I knew I wasn’t gonna like the stiffness of the stock grommet. And wow holy crap is this joystick perfect, inputs feel buttery smooth and the reduced tension makes wavedashing insanely fast to pull off.

Crown grommets fit on the fanta?

I wasn’t sure if they would, but I put the plastic piece from the Fujin V2 into the silicone grommet and it fit fine and everything seems to work well. I was worried that it would cause input problems but so far I don’t notice it being a problem. They’re not too much different and it fits in the plastic shell exactly in the same way.

Could you include pictures? This seems very odd. How did you even know that that would work?

Ahh I should’ve but I’d have to take it all apart again and I really don’t feel like doing that. I will say it works fine, I just don’t know if technically it’s messing up inputs at all. I’m no expert but in my opinion of playing it for a few days my inputs have never been cleaner and more responsive so I may have stumbled upon some magic combination.

Could anyone recommend a good place to buy four Panasonic AM51630C69N micro switches?

Crown grommets are circular but have notches in the same place. When placed inside a Myungshin housing they lock into place the same way. I’ll see about posting pictures later. Finna eat. Not sure if the extra space around the grommet affects performance.

Those switches have been discontinued. It’s going to be real hard to find a place that sells them.

https://www.focusattack.com/crown-cwl-309mj-jms-st25-joystick-clear-red/ Try this. I know it’s out of stock but the 309mj seems to have these switches. After hearing that these switches are out of stock I’m confused. The reason the 309mj has these switches is because they ran out of stock of gersungs

I saw that the 309Helpme lever also had the Panasonic AM51630C69N switches & I was hoping there ways another way to get them but I guess it could be worth it to try the 309Helpme out then try them in my Myoungshin. What is going to happen now that a bunch of switches have been discontinued?
