Korean arcade parts discussion

I recently switched back to cones on 10mm shaft, sky blue grommet and this issue was gone for me. Then I switched to red grommet (unused) and the issue came back. After using the grommet for a while the issue was gone again. Switched to the dark blue grommet (unused) and the same thing happened.
Cone actuator might be my favorite now.

Seems like they’re out of stock on most of their battops

Though, I do recommend Paradise Arcade Shop since I use their Battop on my setup
Paradise Arcade Aluminum Battops
Sanwa Battops

I have two other bat tops and they do the same for the 7mm shaft. I tightened them with something hard to grip to and would later loosen. One reason I can guess is that the 14.5mm actuator I used is a bit too big. There is some trouble to properly insert the e-clip because there is little room. Since my hand rolls the top+shaft counter clockwise, the actuator is preventing it from pivoting easily so the top loosens. I just need to try the other parts to make sure it’s not doing the exact same issue.

EDIT: I think it might be the actuator. I am using the one bigger than that and the top isn’t coming off with the best I can do.

the omron that I give to him is a long throw (less sensitive) switch, which will work best using big actuator like 17.5mm . and it would not work with smaller actuator just like he experience.

ahhh, I think the issue is the 14,5mm actuator is a bit too tall right? please try to shorten it a bit using sanpaper

While I have seen it in past streams, here is a somewhat closer look at the “Saint lever”. Saint did say it’s based on the Myoungshin Fanta. Maybe it’s Myoungshin’s first player lever? Also blue top!

Will do!

Dang, just put together a case and blue would’ve done it justice :s

Still interesting though, Myoungshin about to hop on the player bandwagon?

damn that blue myoungshin top, i need that in my life.

How did I miss all of this? :o Also since we’re making fantas now, I saw an old Salubi fanta grip cover in this thread a while back. Can we make something like that?

Looks like I was wrong about it being Myoungshin. JDCR clarified that it was the 309 Helpme lever with the purple top. Maybe they are using it as a base for a new model?

Purple? My old purple looks nothing like it…

Hmm…new shade I guess.

I remember saying I was going to do a mod like this to a 309mj. This looks nothing like the purple shaft I was looking at. Does anybody know what his opinions are on the 309 helpme.

The Myoungshin Fanta should have an MJ version. For Japanese style peasants like me.(I am the kind of guy to put a ball top and a shaft cover on an mj if it were possible)

I was hoping it was Navy blue or something of that nature

I think if you can secure an FLF-ST lever this is possible. The top piece can fit on the myungshin base and it the mounting plate has japanese mounting holes. Honestly took mine and swapped it back to Korean style.

Alrighty after ALOT of testing, heres my input, everyone already input their praise and their gripes already, so I’ll come in here with a short testimonial on what my favorite setup is, and what I tried…

First off, I want to give HUGE props to @wazwuz for all of his effort in creating these parts for us to experiment with, and with all the hard work he has done the past couple of weeks. The craftsmanship on these parts are amazing and although there is a few things I would like to advise, I’ll save that for later in the write up. Also, @kkolding as well for providing some valuable data and measurements of the parts that we all were curious about! You guys didnt need to do all that, and I’m sure everyone appreciates all the work both of you did to make this a reality.

During my testing, I started with a bare bones Myoungshin Fanta, that had the most equidistant throw/engange points, and it had its switches replaced with Matsushita/Panasonic switches since they are the most popular for custom Myoungshin mods.

So I tried, the highly anticipated “Green Lever” setup, and I honestly didnt really like it. The corners of the stick are very specific, and cardinal directions are very large. Throw distance on this is also very huge for no reason and as you approach the neck gate, it felt like the grommet was being pulled in the housing instead of pivoting… Couldnt really get myself to like the feel of it so I immediately took it apart and started theory crafting…

After alot of trials and different combinations (and wanting to go with a full Golden Fanta Setup not using stock parts.) I found that the 45a Grommet, 8mm Shaft, and 15.5mm actuator the best for my taste. Being a huge fan of the Myoungshin Fanta Airbag, I wanted something with alittle more control and to have refined inputs. I see how The Green Lever, and the Magicstick Airbag’s smaller actuators were preferred because watching videos of top Korean Tekken player’s hands during demonstrations, their movements are very subdued. But you wouldn’t expect that from a wide throw stick. Using this setup, I can float in sweet spots, and execute movements with small motions, which I prefer. I can yank a IST Airbag all over the place but using this combination in The Golden Fanta, I can hold the position where I need to and have very fast movement in Tekken.

I really love the system that has been put together. I like everything in the package, and I think that if you were to do a retail version, I would probably have them order it by “Throw Range” and a set of Grommets. For example Long/Stock Throw would include light/medium Grommets, Short Throw would include medium/heavy grommets. Also, huge thing that I would request is that if you stick with using Sanwa Bat Tops, please put flat-head screw driver slots like the stock Sanwa shaft (I have pictures :3). I used some leather and a vice grip to put on my shaft without ruining it, and it still got loose when I asked others to try it. Other than that, its a great kit!

Heres to recap my setup:
Hori Soul Calibur V Edition (Noir Layout)
Myoungshin Fanta
Mastushita Switches
ASI Acrylic Switch Support
45a Grommet
8mm Shaft
15.5mm Actuator

@Call2Arms I like your stick, it looks “stealthy”. Did you mount the kowal plate on top of the regular mounting plate on purpose. I don’t know if you have made a mistake or not. The review was great. I find it interesting that the Green Lever is a highly regarded enigma, but from what we know, its terrible for corners with a long throw soft tension.

@RaishinX If it would allow performance to stay the same and if someone would sell that part by itself, that would make Korean joysticks so much more accessible for so many people. Similar to what the 303 did but not crappy, and it would also work with the green lever, the fujin and the airbag lever. And don’t forget it would be compatable with the Golden Fanta Mod. ohh one can dream.

Thank you for your time, I sure you have spent many hours to test all parts and combinations.
Classify it by Throw Distance is very good idea. i will do it for the retail version.
Here is my idea, I will provide 3parts:
LT (Long Throw) version will include : 15.5mm actuator ; 8mm shaft.
ST (short Throw) version will include : revised cones (smaller) ; 10mm shaft.
Grommets, since this is the soul of fanta stick I will let customer free to buy the tensions they like, I will provide all tensions.

Btw. I just make short vid to show how to tighten ball/bat top on golden fanta. You may try it

@wazwuz That looks like your going to scratch or break something. If a screwdriver slot is tough to make then this way doesn’t seem too bad.

Here’s a Tekken movement demonstration video with The Golden Fanta recorded with me on my phone… Dont expect me to have godlike crazy Korean movement I am a bit faster if Im not holding a phone and talking. LOL! Its to demonstrate the accuracy of the setup I used and how I utilize it. Bigger Deadzones = Fast inputs and no rogue inputs. I see why they prefer smaller actuators.

Also @ProgressiveBalance to answer your question about why I put the Kowal Universal Mounting Plate on top of the stock plate is that I needed to have the correct height for the collar and doing just that, made it at the correct height so I kept it that way. Lol
