Korean arcade parts discussion

Yes I will weights all the final parts for this golden fanta.

Silicone elastomer have standart hardness from 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80. I have try that 30 is too soft, and 70 is extreamly heavy. So i guess any grommet for fanta will be around 40 to 60.
Rubber/elastomer hardness is prety relatif. Every durometer (model and brand) and testing method (the way you handle the durometer and test subject) can effect the reading. Thosee 40, 50, 60 that i make, even reads 45, 55, 65 in my japanese durometer. This is common problem in my industry, and we always have ± 5 for acceptable variatons.
But if you can try to compare one of this golden grommet and find out the difference, lets say that you find out that green lever grommet is shore 5 lighter than my 60 blue silicone, then I can adjust and make that hardness for this community. But in my experience, you can barelly notice/feel for only shore 5 difference.

Ayo I want in on the golden fanta mod if it’s not too late

USA/ Alabama - 2 sets

I will put you in waiting list, incase some participants cancel his order. Or I will consider another batch when we got positive review for this project.

Can’t wait to tryout different combinations of parts. Definitely going to try to make the Green Lever from the Golden Fanta parts first. The holes in the grommet make the stick interesting too. If anyone has experience with the Green Lever could you compare the differences between that and the Golden Fanta. Besides getting the right tension I think we have replicated the right parts enough to make a clone. @wazwuz is there a date for when this will be finished or is there still work to be done apart from organizing shipping? You might also want to make a few more spare for anybody else who might be late to this project.

In my prediction, it will be finished in this week, i will start arrange about payment and distribution soon. Then i will start ship it on monday.

Making too many sets will make this project longer to finish and get feedback/review. The goal for now is to distribute this project to participant and get review asap. Then If we get positive review and there are still many demmand, I will consider next batch.

Btw, I just revised my mold, now it has holes in diagonals. just did a quick test and it feels right :).

@wazwuz sent my info to your SRK inbox!

@wazwuz I will do that soon. I just need to try and sell my Qanba Q1 stick first. I didn’t realise I’d be paying $72. I might post a review as well. But the review will be late as I need to mod my TES.

If anyone has any tips on using a step drill I’m all ears. I believe I need to go slow, use masking tape, use some heat fluid and keep my drill straight. If anyone has pictures of this mod that would be a great help as well

Sent my info to you as well @wazwuz

Also quick question if we use a Sanwa bat top will we need the adapter or can we just screw it on the shaft without it? I know the clear one won’t need an adapter but the others do.

@wazwuz Info sent. Thank you!

@wazwuz Payment sent. Can’t wait till the Golden Fanta will be in my hands.

it will need adapter. so you could put clear sanwa battop or even balltop, but i’m not sure it will have the correct height.

@wazwuz Just sent you a message. Thanks!

Paid. Woooo!

@wazwuz I’m the only one left I might be able to get it done soon. I might be able to do it when I get home tonight.

I got my stainless steel 3d-designed actuator for Crown levers. It didn’t fit because I messed up on measurements by a slight amount. I measured the hole insert at 7.85mm instead of 8mm (slightly bigger than the stock actuator hole but not much, should be enough to minimize printing errors). I will get my friend to help me shave off a bit.

I fixed the file and here it is. I used Microsoft’s 3D Builder to make this. Resizing should be easy for most folks. Make sure to click the lock to prevent all axis of the object to change at the same time.

recently, I just try this setup:

Red Grommet

17,5mm actuator

Omron switches

shaft using 10mm. I love short throw, I will never change this 10mm shaft in my Fanta (I forget to take pic of this shaft. )

Dammm, this is the most sensitive fanta I ever experience. 17,5mm actuator will bring sanwa sensitivity to fanta. Red grommet is to hard for me, but i need it to equalize this super sensitive input (I don’t even need to hit the collar to confirm my inputs). Omron switches is pretty light, I can barely notice the click using this red grommet, but I like it, it feels more fluid.
This will bring whole new experience to Fanta stick. Can’t wait to distribute it and discuss it with you guys.

@wazwuz would you consider putting out a myoungshin fanta “airbag” kit? Something similar like what you had with Crown’s “fanta upgrade kit” through FA. But you would include a grommet (or more than one), microswitches, the bottom plate (I remember you making one before with the ASI etching on the bottom) and possibly an actuator (aren’t airbag actuators smaller than stock?)

Or is that too much to ask for? Would I be better off just getting another joystick, as in the airbag through Makestick?

They have stopped making them but I think one of the ones I have is that model. Super light but not to everyone’s liking I’m sure. About 1/2 as rigid as the FLF-ST Soft Lever. Won’t really help performance more than practice

I will consider that for the future. right now my priority is providing non existing Fanta parts to give more options.
Fanta Airbag is Very good stick IMO, and it was cheap too. getting one is a good investment.
