Korean arcade parts discussion

I would say around that ballpark of 1:2 and 1:1. The problem with the switches is that the normal 309 in screenshots had a set I see in the 309M. I guess Crown believes they are very close to each other in feel. To a certain degree they are right. Maybe I am just unable to adjust when using both of the levers as easily.

Looking for one of those wooden mdf cases

What is this suggesting exactly? Sorry, I don’t follow. So are you saying that there are versions of the 309 & 309M that are equipped with identical switches? But by your estimation, even mounting identical switches on both levers doesn’t make them identical–yes?

I seen the 309 have GSM-V1623A4 and GSM-V0323A3 switches. Same with the 309M. What I am saying is that some units will have one set of switches, another lever can have a different set. I have spare sets of these switches lying around but haven’t installed em on any of the levers for comparison testing.

A4s!??! Jesus, don’t skip arm day I guess. I couldn’t imagine playing on A4s.

You know what, being that this is Crown we’re talking about here, I’m not all surprised to see you write that. Crown really needs to concentrate their focus. There’s just so many versions of their levers that are being released that it only serves to confuse the market. I’ll never understand that philosophy. I don’t know how they expect their player base to keep up. Crown releases more levers than Nike releases Jordans.

While I agree that they’ve probably gone a bit overboard in terms of the variety of models that they offer I can kind of understand their approach. They’re probably releasing a ton of different models in the hope that one of them ends up being Goldilocks and gets widely adopted by their user base. Then they’d be able to drop the less successful models and focus their efforts better.

Well, right, …but let them do them do that in house. They instead turn their players base into beta testers at the expense of full msrp plus import cost. Why should players be asked to simply roll the dice on each release? Only a few years ago Crown developed what in my estimation, is the most perfect Korean lever ever produced: http://bbs.ruliweb.com/game/xbox/74/board/read/7466622 . And yet it never went into production–why? Instead they continue onward with this design perspective that’s almost schizophrenic in nature. The fact that they do introduce new levers so frequently is not a ringing endorsement of the company’s confidence in their product.

Maybe they didn’t do the test product because of price. The flexibility or the material they used might have affected how much it could have been.

Oh yeah I want to clarify on some 309 stuff. While the Crown site shows GSM-V1623A4 switches, my normal 309 has the GSM-V0323A3 while the 309M has the GSM-V1623A2. I put the former switches on my 303/307 hybrid mod way before I got the 309 and had positive results. The 309 equipped with the same thing gave me some trouble especially when coming from a diagonal to a single input at least in KOFXIV (can be my hand tendencies though). It might be the lighter tension or the switches feeling different than I expected it to be. I am gonna do some last minute testing with GSM-V1623A3 and GSM-V1623A2 sets.

The Crown 303MJ and 309MJ sticks are now in stock at MakeStick!

Cannot wait to place an order for one!

Sweet, ordered two 309MJs in case they go down again and I need a replacement or want to pick it in another stick

The Makestick Pro Vewlix is here… as a case! Just by itself with shipping to the US, it’s under $100. For DIY projects, it doesn’t seem too bad.

Also I am putting on the finishing touches on the Crown 309 levers review! FLF review will follow shortly afterwards.

Can’t wait for that review

That’s just the bare case only (minus the PCB)

vewlix layout+fanta seems like a bad idea. too close for how much movement area fanta sticks usually have

When Knee and Infiltration used their modded Razer Atrox stick, it didn’t seem too much of an issue but they probably had time to acclimate. I did order mine and will be retiring my Jasen’s Customs Panzer KE prototype (was gonna do so regardless) and put in the parts in the new case if it works well.

309, 309MJ and FLF-ST levers are done. I eventually settled with adding the latter. Doing video stuff for them now.

Looks like I’ll be getting the 309MJ in the near future

Thanks for posting the reviews. Really makes me wanna go grab a 309MJ really soon. I was going to get one currently until I encountered a Brook fighting board on the cheap, so hopefully when I allocate more funds in the future (hopefully before this year ends), other suppliers will start carrying the 309MJ.

Thanks I appreciate it.

In other news: Infiltration is getting his own signature lever and it will be from Crown. The SDL-301.

After some Tweets showing various Crown levers after using the Myoungshin Fanta for a while, something had to be looming. Apparently he was testing one at Canada Cup with his new PS4 Razer Atrox. I see that it’s using that cool fat transparent top. Maybe that wont be available in the final release.

It’s still in testing/prototype stage so maybe next year we will see it it like the Helpme 309 or never happen like the Crazy Dongpal 307. Whether or not it will have a normal Korean version is also of concern.

Random silly question but are the mounting plates on the crown sticks compatible with round 1 TE sticks? I was going to put a bat top seimitsu ls-32 in but the holes don’t line up.

Yes. Also R1 TEs work with Seimitsus with the left/right mounting holes, not the up/down ones.
