Korean arcade parts discussion

Edit: I know this isn’t Korean parts related, but please help!

Has anyone here that’s in the USA ever ordered GamerFinger buttons since they’ve started selling again? The shipment is coming from Tawain (sp?) and it’s been in customs since 12/23. A guy I know was telling me his dad used to order stuff overseas and it would sit in customs for months. Could I be looking at that long before I get my buttons? Someone please share a positive experience. Thanks!

To my surprise, the silicone grease did combine with the silicone grommet!
The remaining grease was still intact on the spool though.
I put a thin coating on the surface of the blue grommet for 2 days.
Removing the silicone grommet from the spool felt easier as well.
I did notice the grommet combining on the second day because it was slightly softening but I thought it was just my inexperience in handling the new setup.
I was doing my routinely KBD and found that I needed to adjust my pressure because it has softened.

Just to compare the “softer” feel of the blue grommet I used the green grommet.
The blue grommet is definitely not lower than 45A. I would say my experimented blue grommet is now between 45A-55A.

With the 15mm actuator and 8mm shaft with the green or blue grommet my diagonals are still consistent.
Although I will still opt for the blue since the green is too light and keeps banging the collar.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it man. I ordered 3 sets in November and I got it about 2 1/2 weeks after. I live in Canadia btw

Finally had time to tinker around with my Golden core parts courtesy of @wazwuz .

My first test was to try this with the original myoungshin battop. I personally felt like my Golden shafts fit snuggly through my original spindle, but myoungshin’s shaft is kinda notorious for that “wobble”.

I tried all the springs along with it. Starting from heaviest. I favored the lightest at first. Even though I was using the lightest for awhile, I still wasn’t experiencing that usual wobble from the Myoungshin shaft. That kinda felt like a win for what it was aiming for in my eyes.

After awhile of messing around with different shafts, springs, and actuators. I find I’m favoring this setup of golden fanta parts at the moment:

-7mm shaft
-15mm actuator
-golden core w/ medium spring
-green grommet

Thanks again @wazwuz for putting in a good year and helping our little community.

Golden Core: I tried it first with my GF 7mm shaft and 14mm actuator. With just the core the shaft sat pretty tight and there was no wobble. I tried all the springs and noticed no difference with them or without.
I don’t know if this is because the length between the core and actuator or a worn clip that made the shaft sit very tight. I actually don’t like the feel of the Sanwa battop when it sits tight and doesn’t roll because it’s matte texture. I feel like I loose grip and also I feel like it will loosen from the shaft easier.
So I’m very exited for the Crazy Dongpal 303 tops to be available as they are glossy.

However when using the standard Myoungshin shaft there was a big difference. My airbag has seen little use as of late but installing the Golden Core made it feel amazing. No wobble at all. When I roll the shaft I feel the grinding that @“The Phantomnaut” mentioned.
I choose the heaviest spring as my favorite because the shaft didn’t roll so easily so I wouldn’t feel the grinding.

Thanks @wazwuz

Hope everyone had a great holiday! Here’s to another year of exploring and discovering new info about k-parts

here! here!

Hello everyone , hope you all have great holidays . Another super wierd discovery once again .
At start i was going super crazy , i have 3 Fujins v2’s . yeah dont ask . one on my etokki one on my panthera .
I was going abit crazy how those were the same levers but they were playing diffrent not by alot but they did to me and those differences to me at least they are making a lever feel good or bad , anyway i was keep playing back and forth for months … latetly i purchased from an very old store somewhere in Europe an old version of crown 309 with loaded am5’s on it , it arrived the lever felt really bad and was unplable for me but i was feeling the microswitches beeing super solid i was like aaah fresh microswitches . i emediatly pulled them out and installed them on my Fujin v2 to feel how it is fresh ya know… the thing was flying it became a next level thing played so fluidly … i was again confused and angry … i was like am getting crazy every single setup of the same fujin v2 felt diffrently and one of them was the worse ull understand why when you see the pictures and the discovery below.

there are diffrent am5’s out there … for some reason . if someone knows where i can find and purchase the last picture one i would owe u .

I’m not sure exactly what those numbers stand for. To me they resemble a “lot #” or “batch #”. This seems like something @Agieze would know off the top of his head

So I finally optimized my stick via trial and error testing. None of this is scientific whatsoever.

I got my Omni a few months ago and check in with this thread from my time to time. Most of the time, the it’s too technical and for me to understand the minute details, hence why I never considered getting the golden Fanta kit.

I originally bought the Omni stick used, and it felt like it was not going to neutral as fast as I wanted. My first step was ordering a new “medium” taeyoung fanta grommet.

Later on I wanted to experiment with other levers so I ordered a help me lever from focus attack, tried it out. Did not like it as much as the tae young plus new Fanta medium rubber grommet combo I had. Returned it per their policy.

Went to a tekken meetup and played on this guys Korean stick from korea, he had a myongshin lever. He said he thought my stick was way too tight, and he mentioned his forearm got tired using it. I play more with my fingers and wrist so I don’t have the same issues. nevertheless, I did like the way his stick felt. I had the wooden box stick years ago with myongshin stick and it felt too loose. the current tae young was ok but felt a little stiff.

So I went ahead and ordered a myongshin Fanta from etokki which came in today.

Tried it…felt looser than the tae young, which is what I wanted, but the neutral did not feel as good. it felt slow again.

So basically I took out the “taeyoung medium Fanta grommet” from my taeyoung and put it in the Myongshin. felt better, but somehow the execution was still off, like it wasn’t registering exactly how I wanted. so I tightened the four screws around the stick, and decided to put the actuator from the taeyoung into the myongshin, it did the trick!

Just for kicks, I wanted to make sure it wasn’t a placebo effect. I installed back my taeyoung stick, which now has the grommet that came with the myongshin, plus the actuator that came with the myongshin, it was damn near unplayable.

So the magic ingredient so far Myongshin stick + medium taeyoung Fanta grommet from etokki+plus original actuator (appears smaller) that came with the taeyoung Fanta Omni.

anyone know where i can get my hands on some different sized actuators? or if the fujin v2 14.75 actuator would fit the 7mm GF mod shaft.

You should talk to @wazwuz about getting a Golden Fanta kit. I think you’d like it. The switch support and different grommets give you a lot of options. The actuators and shaft may give you something too. Check it out…

It won’t fit as the shaft is bigger than the actuators inside diameter. However you can make it fit by some modifying the actuator. Slightly drill it a bit wider, others here have made it work.

Everyone, Victor @wazwuz 's dad is in the hospital. Please say a prayer for him and his family and send him well wishes. Happy New Year.

my fujin acuator fitted on waz 7mm shaft with a little preasure as a result was nice and tight i didn’t mod it at all you may not want it that tight though, id say drill it 1mm bigger than it is thats all it needs

Definitely. Victor is such a big part of why this forum is so great. We are lucky to have him and his dedication and means to work on the Korean parts he can produce. It’s a tough go for his father. And @VarmintBaby thanks for posting it for us all man. Praying for both of them.

@ykd For sure man. Hey I had a question. Is there anyone here that likes the Crown 309 HelpMe better than the Myoungshin Fanta?

Well wishes, I hope your father gets better soon.

@VarmintBaby My favorite used to be the Airbag but the Crown 309 HelpMe has been my favorite since summer. I like the Helpme version more than the MJ. I just feel like the 309 is more accurate for my hands, and purple looks great. GF 8mm shaft on Myoungshin is a close second place.
