Yes you would have to swap it in. You can either grab one from a Myoungshin or another Taeyoung. There is also buying one from Etokki or look into Arcade Stick Indonesia’s Golden Fanta kit which has a variety of grommets.
Thanks a lot man. I’m new and typically bad at stuff like this but I managed to take it apart and put it back together…now I just need the parts to experiment.
This is a really cool stick .
Looks like I might have put the old grommet back upside down or something else happens cause my stick really sucks right now and is notably worse …it definitely needs a stronger tension
Lol i like em both. But stock for Stock I think Kaze better for movement for me, Fujin still got the best damn bat though and build quality. Can’t lose either way. Unless I’m playing you, then well I’m losing pretty much every time no matter what lol.
New collar neck that goes through a normal Japanese lever hole. At least for the collar, it’s mainly designed for Myoungshin levers; wouldn’t be surprised if it can work with a Taeyoung if you use the mounting plate or similar ones.
I will dig for more info. Been seeing these in screenshots from the Fujin Naver page and the Dedicated Tekken forum on Korea’s DCInside. If anybody else finds it first, let us know ASAP!
EDIT: With rough Google Translating, I was checking the DCInside thread and it looks like a DIY creation. DAMN IT!
Guys, so I’m new to korean levers since I bought my etokki omni a few months back, recently I got myself the Golden Fanta Mod but I have no idea how to change the rubber grommet lol I mean, the stock grommet has this hard plastic thing in the middle, do I need to take it off and put that to the GFM grommet? I try looking for videos as reference but couldn’t find any… Also at the moment I have issues doing qcf motions on 1p side (in Tekken 7), other than my own fault, what might be causing this in terms of the lever? Thanks
Yes you need to put the plastic bushing on the new one. Put pressure on one side of the bushing and then you should be able to remove it. I stretch and pull the grommet a bit to help in the process.
I figure at worst, one could simply paint theirs. I know I’ve seen some fellow commenters paint their myoungshin white. It’s not something I’m willing to take on until I have more than one to play around with.
@ykd i really liked the kaze v2 performance on moves like ewgf , but it didnt have good movement and backdash was abit slow because the diagonals were kinda wierd to get em clean . Do you recommend version 3 ?
That DIY JP-stick collar for Korean levers looks great, I can only hope that someone can eventually manufacture them for retail. Thanks for sharing, Phantomnaut; interesting to see.
@“masked rider” is it a stock clear white grommet? I have the solid white and clear ones and from what I can tell they are all silicone. The blue ones that focus attack sells are the stock ones found in the sdl-301-dx infiltration lever.
chopped collar on myoungshin works well i did this a while back when i wanted to mount myn on a hrap v3 i had no ristrictor at all as i chopped the whole thing off supprised it worked so well
i did start to wear the rubber a bit as there was no gate but was aware of where my directions were so i could imagine having a small collar like the custom job above would be perfect
